if it's exactly same firmware then yes, if you have for example mmi 3g plus with firmware HN+R and you wife got MMI 3G Plus but with firmware HN+ then needs two different firmwares but maps can stay the same.

well.. you broke your BOSE amplifier.. :) on our installation manuals, we clearly says to do not update bose.. now you need to find someone with original VCP to repair your BOSE.

My 2011 a1 sat nav isn't activated do you have a link to activate it please or do I need to buy an sd card off ebay??
you might need to find local VAG specialist to activate your satnav because in your unit it's not that easy im afraid.

you'll need to replace whole MMI unit/display/mmi control panel etc.. a lot of work, expensive parts and need also remove component protection.

no, need to activate the maps to be able to display and use them for more than just 5 minutes.

then you will be able to install latest nav.
