I went to Audi today, they asking €900 for repair it with an original antenna.
Since I saw this excellent video, i will try it by my self. Hopefully i will succeeded.

@@CiprianChicano Thank you very much. It works! I did it😀. My car is an A6 C7 from 2013.
Instead of removing your glovebox you can just use an old wire stick it trough one side till it reaches the other side, tape the antenna wire on it and pull it.
It saves you a lot of time
I found you can put the GPS to the left where the key goes-- it has been working for a couple of weeks this way now :)

Hello! I don't remember having any fault in scanning with the OBD at that time. It is just very easy to test trying with the aftermarket antenna.
Hey ich habe ein Problem mit dem ACC und Breaking guard aber das Navi funktioniert. Habe paar Videos gesehen ,wo das Problem behoben wurde nachdem man die gps antene getauscht hat. Ist dir das Problem bekannt?

My 2015 A7 has same issue but the GPS sometimes can work, not always dead, it seems the software is doing something. eg. if the positioning goes wrong on one day, somehow it is recovered on the second day... what was your case? Always not working without any satellite?
Yes, not working. I was in Switzerland and my MMI gps showed me on the map I was somewhere in Germany. I changed the antenna with a 10-15 usd aftermarket and worked since than without problems
@@CiprianChicano ok, thanks for your speeding reply:) anyway, if your case is always no satellite and always wrong positioning, it should mean the antenna is broken. But my case is not exactly the same, as I said before, in most cases there is no wrong positioning.... strange.
@@schuma6mzx299 hi :) I didn't use so often the MMI navi because I used Google Maps or Waze. But in Switzerland the internet ia very expensive (50 kb =17ct) and when I reached the border I start using the car's navi. It didn't work. I can not say that it was a sudden crash of the navi/antenna or it happened slowly (because of not using everyday). I would change the antenna or try to clean the contact behind the unit.
@@CiprianChicano Hallo:) I use the MMI NAVI as long as I drive this car, even the short way to the supermarkt...I just let it run there. But thanks for your video of the whole stuff, or else I had totally no idea what happened and thought maybe I am the only guy who has bad luck with this issue... Anyway, I already ordered the keys to disample the MMI out of the dashboard to check if there is anything wrong behind. Perhaps the issue could be solved just by disconnecting the connector and connect it back there again or by cleaning it somehow....

Leider habe ich auch nach der 2. neuen Antenne nur Sporadisch ein funktionierendes Navi.
Er zeigt im Green Menu bei used Sat 0 an... und die 3x999
Wenn es manchmal funktioniert sind im Green Menu trotzdem die oben genannten werte zu sehen.
Wie kann das Navi funktionieren ohne used Satelites?
Falls jemand helfen kann, wäre ich wirklich sehr dankbar....
did you have errors when car was scanned? did they disappear after you changed the antenna?
Can the antenna be left hidden behind the glovebox? or do you have to attach it to front glass?
I don't remember performing any scan when my GPS started to drift. You can let the antenna behind the glovebox, it can see the satellites but it is recommended to mount it near a window. You can let it behind the glovebox, drive for a week and see how it goes and if it is not ok, find a place near a window, in front or in the back
@@CiprianChicano thanks for the quick reply! I dont really use the GPS, and if i do its google maps, I get 0 satelites and it makes the car feel faulty. luckly it is an easy fix!
@@CiprianChicano I know it's a but long since the last message, but I tested behind the glovebox and it didn't have GPS signal, but recently i put it next to the center speaker in the dashboard and it has signal! It's also covered by the speaker grill so its hidden!

I have Audi A6 2015 and my nav whan i press the nav key its shown : the navigation is not available .
What should i do for this my system is mmi radio
Try a force reboot of your navi (press the theee buttons at the same time: Menu + Central knob + Upper right button).

The central knob (big round button) has 4 buttons around. Upper right is the button near this big button and upper

hello friend I have exactly the same problem as you with the GPS, I tried putting the new maps and nothing ... restart mmi and I did not think about removing the roof to access the connector under the shark fin, and I was lazy .. .until I finally found the problem and started to investigate and saw your video. exactly the same as my problem 0 SATELLITES. I'm going to buy an antenna like the one you put in, it should be the same for me at 5 b8.5 from 2014. I want to put it in the right place. My question is can I place it inside the dashboard without disassembling anything? Could you tell me how I have to do it so that I lose signal in that hidden place? or if or if I have to disassemble the entire glove compartment?
Hello! You can put your gps antenna behind the unit, it will see the satellites (but it is highly recommended to mount it in an open space. That's why I put it near the window (with all the work you saw) It is not difficult, trust me (even with the glovebox)

Beny mi-a zis să schimb antena pentru ca cel mai probabil de acolo este problema cu navigatia și a avut dreptate. Eu iau de la el de ani buni update-uri pentru mmi și sunt foarte mulțumit. Și eu îl recomand când am ocazia :)
(poate ai timp să revii și să-mi spui cum a decurs montajul antenei. daca mergi la audi, sub 400 de euro nu cred ca reușești)

Hey there, i see you running the GPS the other side of the vehicle , are you also running it under the door seal and take it to the roof where it will be fixed with the sticky tape? thanks
I mounted it somewhere behind the last seat on the right, next to the window, above the trunk (with double-sided sticky tape)
Guess what it worked , saved me £240 👍🙏🏼

Hi part number must be the same with orginal antenna?
As I said, the aftermarket part number is more cheaper than original and works perfect.
I just recieved my aftermarket antenna and it still does not work, plugged it in, rebooted MMI, and it still showed 0 satellites. Is there anything else that could cause this issue or is there anything I need to do to get the new antenna to work?
Hii! Try to plug in once again and do this activity in an open space. After you plug it in wait a few seconds, press the radio button then restart the mmi and it should work. Please let me know if it works
@@CiprianChicano Ok, I tried this in my garage last night maybe that was the problem. I noticed in my green menu on the page at 1:12 all of my values are at 0 where you have 1, 999, and 14. All of those numbers for me are 0. Could that be caused by a bad antenna?
Tried it again out in the open and same thing, didn't work. Maybe it needs a software update or something? Idk

@@kristjanpregeljkrapez1260 I did, not really sure how. It hasn’t worked ever since I’ve owned the car for a year now and a week ago it randomly started picking up satellites again. Only thing I did was unplug my AC panel and somehow it started working then. I just installed wireless CarPlay tho so now I’ll never use the factory navi lol!

Salut! Eu am luat de pe eBay Germania, am cautat Audi MMI 3g Antenne si Costa in jur de 10 euro. Clemele argintii... Cred ca le aveam mai de mult, sunt, cred eu, universale

Did you activate the Green Menu? This option is available if you previously activate it with a OBD device

Hallo und dankeschön! Ich habe kombi Version und habe ich die Antenne ganz hinten, rechts, neben Fenster montiert (so kann man Satelliten schnell finden)

Salut am schimbat antena și tot așa îmi arată oare am primit o antena defecta ?
Încearcă sa reset la MMi din butoane (caută pe TH-cam Reset MMi) si încearca, poate merge așa)
@@CiprianChicano am dat reset de multe ori am intrat si in meniul verde am dat calibrate la gps. eu ma gandeasc ca antena gps aftermarket a venit defecta
@@snitzel01 cand intri in green menu, poți vedea câți sateliți vede? Nu am încercat sa fac niciodată calibrare, am făcut doar cum ai văzut in clip. Posibil sa aiba și antena vreo problema. Unde ai așezat antena?
Da îmi arată 14 sateliți și folosește 0 am lăsat antena pe bord dar mai incerc și mâine cu antena asta și încerc alti pași cu resetare antena pe mașină și fac o tura
@@snitzel01 sa ma ții la curent, te rog. Încearcă sa iei cu tine cheia de rezervă si sa o folosești pe aceasta la pornirea motorului (nu știu daca ajuta, am văzut pe cineva spunând asta pe un forum mai de mult)
No setup button on my dads audi?
I plugged in the gps and left it inside the mmi but still 0 satelites, i took it out put it around the windscreen, did a reboot but still 0 satelites
If the the new gps antenna is good, it should work. I don't know if it can be something else

GPS antenna is broken. You have to change with new one, original, at Audi and will be a few hundred euros /dollars or aftermarket, DIY about 15 usd (as I did)

I cannot imagine that my original gps is broken, because sometimes it works, but sometimes not.

You just have to install the new one and you can use your navi. But you can not mount the aftermarket on topof the car.

I do not remember exactly where I bought them from, but I will look later in my car and I look at the release keys. 2 the cable I hide under the gummy on the right side, on the floor (that black gummy/rubber)

Hi! I will have to look more for these keys because I didn't find them. I remember that I used the same keys I used on an old Ford Focus (2006) and worked without problem. I recommend you searching on eBay or Amazon: "audi radio release keys" and you should find them.

For everyone. GPS should be installed in the middle of the car! Not at side.
Frende misliš ispod one konzole gdje mjenjač ide. Dakle tu ju sa strane spustiti ili bas ostaviti u gornjem dijelu konzole. Ne znam koliko je debela plastika i to, da li signal dolazi bolje od tud ili skroz desno gdje su osigurači?
@@DjErRoRnT Živjo. Ja sam jo stavil križ luknju u armaturki. Pride ven na sredini sprednjega prozora. Tamo gdje je klima i ventilacija za prednji prozor...

@@DjErRoRnT First i put it on a right side. Worked for some time ,and then stopped working. I thought it was GPS broken. But no. Now i have it at the bottom of the windshield...works perfectly

Ar trebui sa meargă. Pe mine m-a lămurit un baiat de la care am luat softul de update. I-am spus simptomele si mi-a spus ca antena e cu probleme.

Meniul verde trebuie activat in vreun fel sau altul. Eu am folosit Carista (o sa mai fac niște videouri cu ce se poate activa / dezactiva)

It did not work.. But I managed to see the number of satellites in the Navi settings.. 0 so antenna is broken 😢
