After they released Om Nom Run they released Bullet Echo, a game rated 17+, making it clear they’re not just trying to market to 6 Year Olds. I personally believe they’ve moved on from Om Nom and are working on what they want to, and to be honest, in a world where every mobile game company is just copying the latest trends to get a quick buck, I couldn’t be happier

Oh yeah, there's one thing that A LOT of people don't know and/or misunderstood about. So basically Zeptolab decided to make two separate versions of each and every Cut the Rope game (except for Remastered, obviously). Each game now has a f2p and paid version, called the normal version and the GOLD version, which imo is a great decision that theyve made. The real problem here is the goddamn naming. Funnily enough, the GOLD version is actually the original version of the game, the one that you have to pay a dollar to buy and unlock all the game content the way it's supposed to be. While the NORMAL version, is actually the new F2P one, you can get the game for free and technically you can still play all of its levels, but each game has its own f2p marketing system (for example, cut the rope classic has season 2 and 3 locked behind starwalls, cut the rope 2, magic and experiments each use an energy system, cut the rope time travel forces you to be online to play, etc) as well as a bunch of ads shoved in. Because of this awful naming decision, when people check out "Cut the Rope" or "Cut the Rope: Experiments" they'll just think that the games they know and love have become f2p bullshint, without knowing the GOLD versions even exist. Heck, even Danerade here is playing the normal version instead of the GOLD version. So before you complain how Zeptolab made all their games become f2p bullshint, the original games are still there in the form of GOLD versions. Please just buy the GOLD version, or even better, buy the GOLD bundles with multiple GOLD version games. Update: OK i was talking bout iOS version, just looked up the Android ones and some seem to not have GOLD versions. Idk if this means you have no choice but to buy that disgusting $9.99 subscription.
fun fact, the boxes werent originally split into seasons. they were just all available for free. Om-Nom’s superpowers also werent in the original game. these were added much later and the game is much worse because of it imo

I hope they make another traditional box or season or even a traditional game but after seeing Om nom run I think I’ve seen enough Om nom for an entire decade.
I remember playing Cut The Rope as a kid, along the lines of Where's My Perry and some Doodle Bunny, and also Sonic 4 Episode 2. The Time Travel theme was pretty neat as well. Playing the DSI port feels like an indirect nostalgia trip, even if I never played that version when I was younger.

hearing Pizza Tower music while you talk about Cut The Rope is something i would never expect to love edit: 18:32 thats actually a joke from a satire Cut The Rope news website "Om News". Yep, theres a CTR news satire website that once said that Om Nom is bi.
I remember I was hanging out with a friend, and she had told me about the fact that apparently there was a boss fight in cut the rope 2 against a T-rex... From my memory of her description it was a glorified time limit and Roto was apparently involved. Needless to say, I beat every level in the game, no T-rex. I was severely disappointed. Side note: My favorite game in the series is experiments, followed by time travel. I'm not sure why I like them so much, I just do. Maybe it's because experiments was the first game in the series I played? I dunno.
The one thing I remember about Cut the Rope 2 is that I once found a glitch that let you watch ads for currency over and over, so I just spammed that for like an hour until I had enough to buy one of the purchasable hats that gives you infinite energy. Yeah, they expect you to pay to get rid of the energy system
did anyone else have a comic book of this game? it was about a kid who received om nom in the mail, i had the first one and i have no idea if theres more
I've been playing Remastered a lot as of late, and the game's good. Yeah, the artstyle is not for everyone and the game is all recycled content, but at least it means that this game is fundamentally sound and well-made. I even like the new content that they added to the classic worlds. It's a good return to form for a series that desperately needed it. (Now that I think about it, Apple Arcade's doing a lot of that for classic mobile game franchises.)
A lot of cut the rope is still the same good fun it was before, far from perfect like you described, but unlike something like angry birds you can actually still play it and actually have fun. Yes ads are annoying, but honestly the only game that I feel like is half unplayable is experiments which has only 10 lives (resets included). I completely agree that the energy system sucks in CTR2, but 70 (I think?) base energy is actually really good in comparison to something like candy crush, it still can be enjoyable even if those side missions are pretty bad, but you can skip the gates if you watch an ad (which is still bad, but it probably takes less time then actually playing the side missions). The "rip-off" games like run are annoying yes, but they are inoffensive since zepto lab isn't forcing you to play them or anything unlike some specific company that took down most of their games to encourage people to play the millionth match-3 ripoff. So IMO CTR is still good and fun, just has lots of ads now :/.
I remember Cut the rope. The original one, I collected 3 stars on every level on every box up until the DJ box cause thats when I put down the game. I tried experiments and time travel and hated cut the rope 2 cause of the energy system.
Honestly almost every cut the rope game is kind of good, except 2, i especially liked the classic, experiments and magic after replaying them just now -the really only problem with magic is the energy system, otherwise it is just as good as the other 2 classic ones, i feel like it's an underrated cut the rope game; plus minus the amount of ads that has in the games are a real shame for Zeptolab
i honestly love cut the rope 2, i believe the decision to make it energy based, and have an overworld map was shitty, but its still a fun game, the new friends are all unique ideas and are well designed, when i played it nearer to when it came out the game didnt have energy or an overworld, just “boxes” of sorts with levels based around each new friend, i believe it to be the best version of the game, but cut the tope 2 is still great
Dumb question: Was cut the rope 2 always this way? I remember I got to the end of it and it having a more world based structure like the original but unlike what was shown in the video, am I miss remembering or what?
Does anyone remember that there use to be secret painting for player to find out for fun? Now they just cut it out of the game. It sucked because they thought something like this is not important for the game, shame for them.
If you preview the seasons, you can watch an ad to unlock the first box and then you can get to season 2 and 3 without paying money or 3 starring all the levels
Now who can forget about Cut the Rope? It's the easiest game ever for school stuff, you can do Russian stuff off your own, it's like that Cut the Rope has 17 boxes and it does, mechanical box is the hardest one, because there is a sticker saying that it's the hardest one.

Glad you used Extraterrestrial Wahwahs. That theme's a banger.
I wanna see you rate the other games equivalents of boxes. And i gotta know ur commentary on cut the rope magic (my personal favorite)
15:49 the paid version of this game is different and better 15:49 it has no energy system and no challenges and no pace killing map.
I really wanted to know what the candy tasted like
His voice sounds so different from 3 years ago
Now who can forget about Cut the Rope? It's the easiest game ever for school stuff, you can do Russian stuff off your own, it's like that Cut the Rope has 17 boxes and it does, mechanical box is the hardest one, because there is a sticker saying that it's the hardest one.
I do not regret my choice of spending nearly 50 dollars on the Cut the Rope games on the 3ds
Will you talk about the battle cats?
There's a remake for PC now in development... Hope, it will be nice when it comes out.
i like how the note in the paper describes your reaction hahahahah
There used to be a candy feast aptivity thing, then removed it in the first app then they made 2 apps of it after for some reason
Happy pride to Om Nom specifically
