Hey guys! Bit of a chill video with this one. Tried something a little different, what do you think? And the editing and grand scale will come back in the next video and well... more details to come! I needed a small break after the Poppy video. Alright thanks again see ya soon 👋.
Nothing on Poptropica pissed me off more as a child than when you were playing Reality TV Island and for no reason you were voted off and had to replay it a bunch of times.
Okay, so I’m right, they didn’t choose to ditch everything, the shutdown of flash basically forced them to have to rebuild everything from the ground up and they’re just taking a while.
I remembered this, was fun but i got heartbroken after coming back and seeing only a few islands instead of the wide selection, which is when i immediately quit lol.
Unfortunately when Flash shut down, all the old islands that haven't been sound updated couldn't port well to their new game engine Haxe. They'd essentially have to start from scratch and recode everything which would take a while, but they're slowly reintroducing the old islands along with new ones
I remember my uncle played this in pc. My uncles were in love with diary of a wimpy kid so they always go to the wimpy kid map. Good times back…I miss the good old days…😔
Hey does anyone else remember on Ghost Story Island when the game that famously has no sound suddenly decided to have sound while you were focusing super hard looking through a telescope?
A little fun anecdote, back when thinknoodles was a pretty small channel who did only club penguin and poptropica videos, i actually added him to my friends list in poptropica. It’s weird to think about now
brooooo that was my whole childhood watching his walkthroughs and then trying them myself even his whole minecraft series. i remembered about it randomly when i was about to sleep n visited back his channel and so much nostlagia hit me. crazy to think its all gone now.
I DIDN'T forget about this game. I literally bought that like limited edition guide book on all the islands that were currently out including the diary of a wimpy kid one and used it after beating the islands normally to get all the secrets. Then I lost the account and now all the old islands are gone so OOF to that nostalgia!
bro i bought a couple books as a kid. one of them was a pirate one, another was that same guide book from the book fair, and the other one was a monster thing. loved poptropica!
hilarious fact: i was the one of the only people in my class when i was like 12 who correctly identified a nerve and it was because i played poptropica so much i had the virus island memorized
My favorite island was always Mystery Train. Knowing the mystery didn’t ruin it, just putting all the clues together was so fun and that Ferris wheel fight was so amazing
yes! i loved that island. and i always offloaded the final chase to my brother because i was good at figuring out the clues, but not running around really fast.
Poptropica was absolutely the shit back in my younger years and would play the hell out in the library. Glad this game is still up and running unlike Club Penguin, Petpetpark, Monkey Quest or Build-a-Bearville.
@@brirodri9889 Oh yeah, I think back in 2014/15? I played that erry day lol all of my cool limited editions, alive and fun! I had so many special items from summer and xmas events as well as codes from the local store for free items. the good ol days
me and my sister used to play this game all the time and we made so many accounts until eventually we figured that we didn't need to make a new account every time we booted up the game lol because we were idiots back then lmao. We both also loved going to that carrot island and go to the diner for the drinks to come up with some random color combination to try as well and see how good the color is on our avatar's hair.
I did to until I made an account that I would play on a lot. I don't remember it now, but I remember being friends with Thinknoodles. Next time I play, I'll write it down somewhere.
I remember being so confused as a kid playing Poptropica. When I revisited it to play the newer islands I had missed, I completed all of them within a day. Brain goes brrrrr.

Survival, Escape From Pelican Rock, Greek Mythology, Poptropicon…all favorites of mine. There is just nothing like Poptropica. I would pay so much money for all the old islands to be added back in.
Could never forget Poptropica. I remember being so proud of myself after completing a hard island (thank you Poptropica walkthroughs!), such fun times! The Greek Mythology island was practically the Beyoncé of the islands. However, Early Poptropica was probably almost everyone’s first island to complete. The giant green sewage spider will never be forgotten. Also, anyone else remember going to the 24 Carrots diner to change your hair color?
I was absolutely heart-broken to find out all the islands were gone now but then I found that flashpoint thing that lets you play the og version offline and oh BABEY were the memories flooding back. Turns out all those islands that took me so long to beat take me like a few minutes each now and all the islands felt a lot smaller than I remembered, but I suppose most things are like that looking back.
Poptropica is one of those games where I struggle as a preteen trying to solve a puzzle, unable to do so because I don't understand the vocabulary. Then I wake up several years later in a cold sweat thinking "oh my god, THAT'S how you do it!" Most memorable instance was on that pirate island (one of my favorites!) where on one of the mini-islands, you got a few numbers. Someone told you it was a "sequence", which I didn't understand at the time.
The wait for Monster Carnival was insane since I think it was first mentioned on the blog if not after the first then the second or third islands. It became an urban legend. My generation moved on by the time it came out. I'm glad that it finally happened.
i'm glad someone remembers this! yeah, i think at the very beginning it was a locked island with a sign that said "coming soon" or something, then it was simply removed i think. it was probably the greatest mystery of Poptropica, and it was cool to see it finally released and playable
For anyone who might also miss poptropica in its full former glory, flashpoint has all the islands and their applicable members only bonus games for free
i remember being in like 6th grade and showing time tangled to my computer teacher like “ohhhhh look history, i’m learning!” and she let our class play poptropica once we finished our work because it was “educational” 🥴
I could never forget this game-I used to play it for hours on end. It was my first exposure to horror-even if it was very much kids game horror it was more horror than you’d expect tbh-and point and click adventures (two of my favorite types of games now) My favorite island was Monster Carnival c:

This game has very strong scribblenauts feel to it, because you have little mission you have to do like go back in time trough history meet different historical figures, which i can see people liking if you are that into knowing your history.
Poptropica was where its at. I remember that I was way too stupid to solve the puzzles in most of the islands back in around 2010-2011 (I probably wouldnt be able to do it today either lmao) so it felt like a divine accomplishment when I managed to do one even though I only managed to do three. I even remember specifically which 3 islands they were after all this time! Out of curiosity I checked back into it a few years ago and it was gone ): its nice to know someone actually still remembers this and reminded us of its existence again.
I remember playing this game sooo much as a kid, now they have removed basically all my favorite ones. For example: The Survival Series, you can only play part 1 and part 2 is locked behind a membership, and also the one with the swords and the robots(I forget the name), they never finished that one either and it also got removed. You can play a lot of the old islands on Flashpoint, but Survival isn’t there and a lot of other favorites I’ve had.
Ah Poptropica. I miss the classic islands so bad. Monster Carnival was by far my favourite, with Mythology and Big Nate being standout stars as well. Such a weird but wonderful little game.
God this unlocked memories….I didn’t even play a ton of the new ones I think I stopped playing somewhere around 2013/14. There are so many maps I just…abandoned and never finished because I couldn’t figure out certain puzzles. Now I wanna replay them 😭😭
you can play all the old ones! The really old and good ones categorized into “AS2” islands can be played through something called flashpoint, (just look up a guide for that)even with ur current account. The kinda old islands categorized into AS3 can be played through the steam version, like in this video, and there is also a reddit guide that shows you how to play the AS3 ones for free, which I can link if you want.
This video makes me feel old, monster carnival came out in 2014 I was a freshmen then, I was playing poptropica in like 2008 with club penguin and webkinz
Poptropica became a shell of its former self after the death of Flash. My favorite Islands were Astroknights, Mythology, and Ghost Story. I don't have anything to say about the Haxe Islands, because they just pale in comparison to the Classic Islands I played as a kid. My account is still active though, and my Poptropica OC, now named Red Moon, was my first ever OC as a kid. I occasionally do fanart of her and I dress her specifically in all black dark academia and goth clothes. Overall, Poptropica was my childhood and the game brings both nostalgia and disappointment in its current state for me.
you can play all the old ones it’s not that hard. There ain't no forgetting my childhood now. Poptropica was the shit back in elementary and middle school. Poptropica, cool math games, primary games, and coolified games were my favorite places to go when I had a slow class. I loved the og islands. Sad they got rid of a bunch of them due to java and the old system being out of date and discontinued
Poptropica? You mean the game I literally picked my user name from? The game I got 100% in when I was in high school? It has never left my mind and I still appreciate the memories it gave me
Poptropica really said lets make a steam version with old islands but not include... Early Poptropica, Shark Tooth, Nabooti, Big Nate, Wimpy Boardwalk, Wimpy Wonderland or even Super Power island. Like the hell were they thinking were classic islands???
I never forgot poptropica.. It takes SKILL to complete the hard maps like Arabian Nights, Greek Mythology, that superhero convention one (my favorite when I was younger), and Pelican Rock
I was helping a friend work on a Poptropica dating sim. I was gonna voice Dr. Hare and a few others lmao, believe me I'm not allowed to forget about this game XD
Fun fact!! The monster carnival ending was changed due to fans coming out to tell the devs how the original ending (where Raven actually becomes "Chicken Boy" or something) wasn't satisfying and just, put the Ringmaster into ridicule like he was as "Bird Boy". The devs teased it on a fan blog qna. Coming from an actual poptropica fan (I've drawn multiple fanart and also was shown on their blog for a tiktok lol), it's kinda nice to see the devs listening and changing it. Still sucks that most of the islands aren't there still. But I reccomend the new islands on the web. It's good to see updates
you can still play all the old ones! I was so angry at the Time Tangled island that I literally quit the game. I couldn’t make this one jump, I think it was in old New York, and it made me really angry. But I also remember playing Survival Island(terrifying, why did they let me play that), escape from pelican rock, the timmy failure one, and 24 carrot, but the whole thing took me like a week(especially pelican rock, that one took me a whole day)
I remember I used to look up online guides on how to beat the islands without even trying by myself lol, I kind of want to try the islands again without any guides now that I’m older and smarter. Too bad the old islands are gone :(
i never did finish skullduggery island , and steampunk island (i think that’s what it was called? the dystopian one with the robots and mechanical plants?) took SO LONG but it’s one of my favorites
I wasnt old enough to remember the actual content of the game but I do remember just playing Poptropica with my sister and me just running around on that one island with the art museum thing lmao, loving this channel fr
One island I had fond memories of is Virus Hunter. As a kid, I always loved Fantastic Voyage style stories because biology and research the human body is one of my favorite subjects to learn, even if I'm not planning to become a doctor or nurse. This island really got me hooked about it and the premise is very good as well. There's also Zomberry Island, which I do like zombie break out stories and the reveal of how it all started is clever. This was long before the SpongeBob episode, Krabby Patty Creature Feature, which also has kinda the same idea where a specific food is causing a zombie outbreak. There's also the other islands based on stories I like like Survival Island reminded me a lot of the Tomb Raider game from 2013 and Mystery Train is because I do like Sherlock Holmes style of mystery. I think that's one of Poptropica's unique charm, on top of loving tributes and homages and cross-over islands, they also come up with unique original ideas for their islands.
Dont worry about feeling "dumb" at times, i got on this website SO many times, including just a couple years back, and i never realized there was actually missions to play...💀 i always just ran around talking to people and looking at stuff...
I could watch just videos you go going through every classic poptropica island, cause man do I miss it. There was a list of links someone made of all the old islands after poptropica removed a lot of their classic islands. But then the flash thing happened, so it’s legit almost impossible to play the very very old classic games ;;
Nah you can play all the old ones it’s not that hard. The really old and good ones categorized into “AS2” islands can be played through something called flashpoint, even with ur current account. Ahh, seeing this on my home page sparked something. I can’t thank you enough for reminding me this exists, I remember days in elementary school playing spy island or steamworks, I can only hope they bring those two back soon! Thanks for the amazing vid!
I never played poptropica, but I played a 3DS spinoff of the browser game named “Poptropica: Forgotten Island”. Well, I guess it really was forgotten, since I can’t find any mention of it.
The short term promotional material in game definitely were more fun than ads have any right to be. Mini-platformers themed after what was being promoted and sometimes clothing and accessories based on that too.
I distinctly remember zomberry island from the game growing up and being terrified of it as a kid. Looking back, it wasn't that bad but man did it leave an impression on little me.
Aw man I remember this game! My favorite islands were the superhero island and the one with all the paintings and where you (for some reason I don't remember) end up tied to a chair and needed to do this weird balance puzzle thing to get out if I remember correctly? I dunno, but those were the stuff back in the day. I can only hope one of them got back in the game.
I don’t even remember playing Monster Carnival, but I finished literally all of the islands up until Escape From Pelican Rock (there was a glitch that made it impossible for me to make any progress). All I remember is that I heard about Monster Carnival getting cancelled, and I was like “oh that sucks. I hope it can eventually get released someday.” So then when I heard that they were actually going to release it, I thought that was super cool. But then I apparently completely forgot about it right after playing it.

Ok I have never felt this much nostalgia before. Also, I love your videos… the editing and voice acting is just flawless *chef’s kiss*
Damn, I remember this game. Used to play it 24/7 literally 10 years ago. Everybody played this game. Good times… good times indeed…

I remember playing this back in Middle school.
Poptropica is one of the greatest point-and-click games of the 21st century. I spent HOURS on that site as a kid. It's a shame it got neutered.
Since when was there a poptropica dating sim 0_0

Too bad the old islands are gone :(
I never forgot.
i never did finish skullduggery island , and steampunk island (i think that’s what it was called? the dystopian one with the robots and mechanical plants?) took SO LONG but it’s one of my favorites
I wasnt old enough to remember the actual content of the game but I do remember just playing Poptropica with my sister and me just running around on that one island with the art museum thing lmao, loving this channel fr
Same bruh I always played with my sisters cuz they were so much better than me lol
Fun fact, the sticks of gum you need to collect in Pelican Rock are analogous to the common prison practice of collecting and trading cigarettes.
i haven’t forgotten this absolute legend
Being a kid, I avoided the zombie island like the plague as I was terrified of horror.
i could never forget this game, adored playing it with my friend and had a blast. got me into adventure and puzzle games lol
I loved the superhero island and was so glad to get the flight upgrade. Also that desert scavenger one with the gemstone I got stuck on and hates
Dont worry about feeling "dumb" at times, i got on this website SO many times, including just a couple years back, and i never realized there was actually missions to play...💀 i always just ran around talking to people and looking at stuff...
I could watch just videos you go going through every classic poptropica island, cause man do I miss it. There was a list of links someone made of all the old islands after poptropica removed a lot of their classic islands. But then the flash thing happened, so it’s legit almost impossible to play the very very old classic games ;;

@@brobot6565 I just figured it out via the help of another video but absolutely thank you for trying and responding so quick!
i did not expect to be sent back to middle school with think's intro eff u
man skullduggery island was awesome. there are so many that are great too. they need to get all the old islands back
I think about this game every few months and I'm happy to see this to know I'm not insane
i could never forget poptropica
FINALLY an in-depth video about my CHILDHOOD.
I never forgot this game. This was the game I was forced to play everyday by a bully, except I never got to play I just had to watch. I will never forget this game
Ahh, seeing this on my home page sparked something. I can’t thank you enough for reminding me this exists, I remember days in elementary school playing spy island or steamworks, I can only hope they bring those two back soon!
Thanks for the amazing vid!
ur commentary and editing is really funny, found myself smiling a lot throughout this video ahhaaa :D
I was absolutely terrified of the puppet monster as a kid. Could barely get through the island from fear LOL
I never played poptropica, but I played a 3DS spinoff of the browser game named “Poptropica: Forgotten Island”.
Well,
I guess it really was forgotten, since I can’t find any mention of it.
I feel like the islands got insanely easier. Like I remember the Greek Mythology Island being super difficult. Idk maybe I'm just older and smarter
I really missed the old Island in Poptropica, between 2015-2018 was literally the best time for me to play the Poptropica Island
It used to be so much better, but then they removed a ton of the islands...
I used to play this with my friend and I still remember speedrunning the back in time level my fav
Yeah, I didn't forget about this one. I could never forget poptropica.
The art theft island was my personal favorite just because of the "spot the fake" minigame
The amount of times he says "antiquated" but really means "acquainted"
i will never forget poptropica, logging on almost every day and being so excited to play the new maps and the stories were so good. ❤
I never forgot I literally bring this game up whenever I get the chance lmao
12:18 Damn it's been ages since I've seen Thinknoodles intro let alone think of him I totally forgot about him he was like an idol to 8 year old me
i NEVER forgot poptropica it is literally the core memory of my childhood
I miss the super spy island. The grappling hook bow tie was so cool
man i didnt forget about poptropica
Favorite islands GOTTA be Steamworks, Mythology, and Astro Knights
I remember being deathly scared of that blueberry zombie island
