I actually like reprogramming the AR636 and have no trouble getting them to do what I want them to do. It was FlightEngr on RC Groups who figured out how to reprogram them and provided the software that we use. It is a little easier to set up the Smart AS3X/SAFE receivers with Forward Programming, but a person still needs to understand how a gyro works.

I had no idea the dx9 would do it. Got one used couple years ago just left it on the shelf until I saw this video. Had to register and update the dx9 but it works 👍thanks so much. I have quite a few rxs from bnf planes laying around you probably saved me few hundred bucks.
Ah, perhaps why I’m pulling my hair out. It’s a newly purchased DX6e, will that make that menu forward programmable. I don’t want to loose my new A-10 due to something stupid on my part.
Can you update with an SD card or BT only? Not seeing a USB. Oh this radio chews through AA batts, is there a better way you’d recommend. Thanks for any help in advice. The manual & horizon vids either omit stuff like make an account, get the individual specific code🤨, gyro modes and SAFE off, etc. it’s clear an hurricane.
I have the older gen 1 . I was able to bind it to my aeroscout which is the rtf version. I was able to get safe to work, still unclear on expo settings on different rates as far as sensitivity. Your videos always informative!
Thanks for an interesting and informative vid. I am new to Spektrum and have been using aftermarket recievers but recently purchased an AR630 for a new build. It was worrying when I couldn't find Forward Programming on my DX7 while I was reading up on how it worked before installation. The instructions weren't clear that it had to be bound and on before the F P menu showed in the main menu. Your explanation cleared my confusion. Thank you. 😊
Thoroughly enjoyed your NX six transmitter help, I just upgraded to a NX eight, I wish you would add comments for higher channel radios in your NX six videos
Does the spektrum dx6e not able to do forward programming?? I'm losing my mind after updating both the radio and the receiver (ar631). Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I do have several forward programming videos. HOWEVER THE AR636 does not use forward programming it can only be custom programmed by using the AS3X PROGRAM APP OR THE PROGRAMMER ON A COMPUTER
It seems like my DX8e will have forward programming. Not sure if I need to update it or it will be there once I'm bound to my 8063T receiver. We'll see when it gets here. Thanks for good videos, keep it up.
Can you answer me a question?? when you are setting up your transmitter and when it comes to aircraft type one wing and one aileron screen or other options, on the wing type screen and then you click down next and it shows that screen and it shows to activate 3 position gimble should you in that screen activate it that on the new receiver setup or not and just leave it alone? and then when you click down on that screen it asks what type of picture you want for your aircraft. you know what Im saying bud? Id like to know if I should set the 3 axis gimble to active on that screen on a plug and play receiver?
nxx10 up to date except for the last update (20 channel ). AR636B receiver up to date bind complete nx10 shows fwd program shows connecting then connection failed any ideas why fail
My Aeroscout rtf has ar631. I just got a dx6 gen2 and updated it to 2.08. Whenever I follow directions to bind it with safe and reverse the aux1 channel, I get 2 different safe modes to the switch I set for gear channel (B) but I can’t get safe to turn off and I have almost zero elevator. If I switch aux1 back to the same as other switches in reverse menu, I gut full elevator travel but no safe and only as3x. When I hold panic button with aux1 reversed, it turns safe off and has only as3x active. I try enter forward programming and it says connection failed. Any suggestions? I’ve been trying to figure this out for over a week now.

On the AeroScout, the expo and rates are set up in the receiver by Horizon.

Show us how to setup Safe Select please. I have the DX18 and a AR8360T receiver. Can't figure it out!

I have an nx8 and sport cub with ar636. When I select forward programming it says connection failed. Help please

@@c70char I got it to work by updating the firmware to one of the older builds, I think 2.07, then it popped up when I bound my 630

If you unlock your ar637ta then you get forward programming. But the open stock ar637t is unlocked from factory and forward programming is available..
