$140 vitamins sounds like something you would critique on this channel 😅
A video of greatest hits focusing on healthy influncers would also be a fun idea! It could help people find new positive inspiration in a space that includes so much triggering behavior.
Yess I love sharing fun HCCs on TikTok too www.tiktok.com/@abbeyskitchen/video/7259796758002208006
This^^^💯
Oh yes love this idea. Good influencers
OMG, this compilation is shocking... I would LOVE a part two!!
Noted!
Yes! I would love part 2
agreed
On Adrienne's 'self love' tip of drinking water when you're hungry: Back in like 2018 I went to a dietitian who instructed me to simply drink water if I was hungry between meals. Reflecting on it, and after seeing your videos I know that that wasn't good advice. I mean, yes, her advice helped me lose weight. But I didn't keep it off. I wasn't able to sustain it in the long term. And watching your videos has encouraged me to try and find balance, so thanks Abbey!
Drinking water before a meal isn’t a horrible thing because you can think your hungry when actually you are dehydrated. But obviously still eat, if that did nothing!
Oooh this was fun! You should do a compilation of your favorite meals that you’ve reviewed on peoples WIEIADs!
Love this idea
I can’t believe it’s been 12 years. I found you when I was 16, doing inpatient ED recovery. Been here since the beginning & I’m so thankful for you and your content. I’ve had slips along the way but at 28, I am now 3 years officially ED free.
proud of u!❤️
So happy for you!!!
Congrats on 12 years! You’ve helped me learn and unlearn so much about nutrition and health.
Ian Somerhalder’s lettuce in a pan still infuriates me to this day
I was waiting for that last clip! It’s so horrible that it circles back around to funny to me. Thank you for highlighting the fact that people with large platforms have a large responsibility. You have given me a ton of good advice over the years and I will continue to recommend you to friends and family 🥰
That’s when I started watching, Abbey was doing the video about the Banana Girl, that feels like so long ago😳😳♥️♥️
Aw yes so long ago!
@@AbbeysKitchen It has truly been so fun watching the Abbey vs Freelee "fight" along the years haha
Yes, another reminder please. This was great!

I know I’ve asked this before but I would love to see some videos where you breakdown intuitive eating when you’re on like adhd medicine. Also intuitive eating for people who are neurodivergent in general. Tips for people who struggle to eat things that aren’t on their safe foods list
Also I know that this might be a hard ask because of the complexities involved, but I just struggle daily and would love help
Yes, seconding this! I tend to find that I’m most likely to mindlessly snack in the evenings, probably when my medication wears off. Which has me wondering if I’m not eating enough during the day? Or is my brain just seeking dopamine in the evening because the meds have worn off?
Thanks so much for all this info over the years Abbey as a woman just starting fresh in college, there's so much new information that I can't tell what's left from right! Your videos help guide me.
Thank you Abbey for spreading the word about this important topic!
We love you!
Thank you!
Haven’t seen this test kitchen in so long! I miss it!
Thank you for your dedication, Abbey!!
I remember all of these! Love this video
Congrats! And thank you for continuously helping us with Science and Sass!!
Always🥰🥰
Hey Abbey! Old subscriber here. I found you back in 2015 and I couldn't be happier. At that time, I was a 14 year old struggling with ed's and you've really helped me during my recovery journey and keep supporting my progress with your content. I'll always be glad and appreciative of your efforts because I'm not the only person that has been benefited by your videos. Thank you so much and happy 12th year on TH-cam❤🎉
I’m so glad you were here for the journey!!🥰
Omg congrats girl!!! You deserve all the success and more. I’ve learned so much from you over the past few years. Also, 12 is my favorite number so this feels very cool! 🥰
I’m glad my channel has been helpful🥰🥰
I feel like the reactive yet aggressive advice by hrh collection In her video is a result from being HANGRY :DD we need an episode 2 of this!!
Yea probably
I loved watching this, because this compilation has shown me exactly how sick I was
I love this channel, it’s both interesting and horrifying to see the lengths people go to to achieve the beauty standard of being unhealthily thin. This point really sunk in when I was a young teen and I was unhealthily underweight, which made me feel weak and dizzy all the time. I only ever recieved positive comments about how thin I was, and no one ever questioned that it might not be healthy.
I’m a teacher and I have worked in boarding houses and your message should literally be on the school curriculum. I wish I had had this when I was a teen x keep up the good work
This is so sweet, thanks for the love
Lol a trigger smorgasbord. I think I’m ready.
I love these, more!
The green dress is lovely! Where is it from Abbey? < crosses fingers it’s not a Canadian exclusive>.
Thanks for the content! X
When self love is self discipline, then everybody with anorexia must love themselves really much! Which is often not the deal.
Saw the title and immediately thought of your video on HRH. I think just like Nicocado its very hard to say if what they're saying is part of a persona or actually something they think is true. ❤
I wish I had known about your TH-cam channel 10 years ago. Would have saved me from the raw vegan to orthorexia pipeline.
Glad you could join us now!!❤
can we please stop with the orthoexia is dangerous band wagon please, choosing to eat healthy and avoid junk is not a eating disorder. thank you 😊
@@layladarby1994simply choosing "to eat healthy and avoid junk food" isn't orthorexia. Orthorexia invariably becomes linked with anorexia/binge eating/purging. It involves guilt, shame, panic and despair.
If none of those describe you, then you're not the type of person being described as having orthorexia.
I think about the Travis Scott Bazar interview anytime I even look at candy
would you ever do a video on Bethenny frankels skinny girl rules? or any of her recipes ? xoxo
Congrats on 12 years!
Adrienne’s and that HRH collective video are literally the physical embodiment of the ED voice that lived/still lives in my head for years and in the heads of anyone with anorexia. At least I knew that it was anorexia’s voice and not something that I should share with anyone else as a “weight loss tip” because of how dangerous it was. I’m astounded that there are actually people out there who genuinely think that’s something that’s okay to share with anyone, let alone on the internet.
Great video idea! Where can I find the links to the full videos from these clips?
Oh good point I’ll have my team

@@AbbeysKitchen thanks!!!
I also always enjoyed your collabs with abby langer 😊👍🏼
I have a question. what do you think about cronometer? has it actually been reviewed by a reputable agency?
Wow! It’s been sooooo long! Crazy🤩 I have a suggestion for a future video also. Could you please try to eat (and workout) like Sydney Cummings, or review her? Feel like she genuinely is a good influencer with good and realistic advice when it comes to both food and training, but would be nice to hear what you think. And what you generally think about personal trainers’ nutritional advice vs dietitians’ advice? ❤️
Jeeeeeeeeeesus that HRH one 😮💨
What are your thoughts on Bryan Johnson's Anti-Aging diet? Does it help regulating blood sugar or that is achieved solely with Metformin?
Wow.... Crazy stuff 😮.
Hey Abbey 👋
Hi Abbey, could you please do a video series talking about satiety and evolution? Perhaps something explaining how our access to nutrition has changed from having to hunt and gather versus industrialization and having food available all the time. If you leave food out, a dog and other species will eat it. Are we meant to easily feel satiety or are we in the process of evolving to feel satiety at a hormonal level rather than the fullness of the stomach since now some of us have excessive access to snacks and food in general? Of course, this is not true for everyone and poverty and access to food is still scarce for many others. Also, can you talk about nutrient depletion with how we treat the land in current days which might cause our plants to be less nutritionally dense? What is your stance on how cattle and chickens are fed and treated and how can that can impact the quality of the meat we eat? If the cows are stressed, how does it impact what we eat due to the impact of stress on the hormonal levels of the cow? Thank you so much for your content!
Ah, whatever happened to the lady who ate all those bananas 😂
th-cam.com/video/S-p4axacrIA/w-d-xo.html She's still alive
Hahahaha, guess im not the only one who still watch a video of hers once in a while just to keep myself updated and see what happens with her
Oh man I remember those freeley ones
What is the likelihood that there is a lot of unaccounted binging behind the scenes?
I personally cap my eating after a certain time of day . One thing that I would say about it is that while you are all about listening to body cues the body also gets used to habitual patterns so that over time I have become less hungry at night .
Yes this can be true! If it works for you then amazing
Totally agree! But there's definitely a difference between how you just described what you're doing, versus how the woman in the video described it. What she said felt veeery disordered...
If I eat to close to bed I have trouble sleeping . My rem Isnt as good.
100% the thing that helped me finally hone a healthy nutritious diet is realizing that hunger is not a cue that your body needs food. It's a cue that your body EXPECTS food. That's why you get hungry at around the same times every day: because that's when you feed your body every day. Your body knows its lunch time because you feed it every day at lunch. And if you get busy with something and can't get food right when your body asks for it.....the hunger just goes away. If your body actually really desperately needed food then the sensation wouldn't just disappear like that. Once I realized that hunger is almost meaningless I just started eating after I stopped feeling hungry. Then I finally stopped overeating every day and finally learned how to eat proper portions.
Eating when you are hungry and listening to your body like that does work for so many people, but for people like myself it does not work AT ALL, and leads me down a path of poor health and malnutrition.
Just had my first baby and when I was pregnant I bought the “what to expect when expecting” cookbook and holy diet culture. It’s pretty bad and even talks about staying slim while pregnant. Glad I watch your videos and can see through the bs.
Abbey could you please do a video on Bryan Johnson? Thanks!
Greatest hits show, let's goooo :D
STARTS AT 4:25
Thanks
Come so far on my journey to improve my relationship with food and it’s 100§ been your videos. Thank you!!
Recently I read that a only-fruit-eating influencer died due to malnutrition. Would love to see you cover the topic, these diets are so unhealthy
Would love to see an updated review of Ellen Fisher!
ellen is thriving as are her family, she looks amazing, healthy and happy.
loved this - do another!
I downloaded your HCC e-book and love it! Thank you, Abbey! 🩷
Yay!!
I want to see Brody! You should show clips of your team.
Say hi here!! vm.tiktok.com/ZM2p3WHkJ/
Your inserted clips are always on point. I hope Victoria B keeps her diet to herself and doesn’t subject her family to that torture.
New series pls 🙏👀
HRH is def just trolling, she likes to stir things up 😂 i love abbey and i love HRH...i straddle the fence with my mental state
Abbey! Would love to see you do a commentary on Bryan Johnson’s anti aging diet! He posted it on his channel 3 days ago.
Please to a review on TH-camr Paige shay. I would be very interested on your opinions on her nutrition advice !
I've never been triggered before😮😅
You should do a what she eats in a day by Paige Shay
love youuuuu
Intentionally compiling triggering clips feels like it’s missing the mark on teaching nutrition…
I’m struggling to find a justification for this type of content since all the positive aspects of your typical reviews have been stripped away.
It's not triggering. I used to specifically watch the ones where she gave a trigger warning, and she calmed me down every time by explaining why the actual triggering video was incorrect.
Personally, I think she does it to get people like me to listen - and it works in such a positive way.
@@Mikathedog100 Just because it’s not triggering to you, doesn’t mean it’s not triggering. I really like Abbey’s videos where she pairs critiques with suggestions on how to make meals more nutritious, satiating, or balanced. When these reviews aren’t reframed as creative ways to teach nutrition tips, they come off as shaming. I’m not criticizing Abbey personally, just the choice of this format.
Thanks for the feedback. But I actually
Maintained the commentary of my original videos as reminders and folks are always welcome to go back and watch some
Or then. The point is to remind everyone of the permanency of the internet, that sharing these tips are super dangerous and that hopefully my true long term fans here have also come super far to recognize these problematic statements - the old and the new, bc they’re always forever coming.
@@AbbeysKitchen I appreciate that you kept the explanations of why these clips are problematic, but this compilation removes so much context and a lot of your really thoughtful and compassionate commentary / suggestions for how to improve. Focusing on replacing an unhealthy behavior with a healthier one tends to be more successful than simply trying to stop the unhealthy behavior. Respectfully, saying folks welcome to go back and watch the OG videos shifts a lot of responsibility onto the viewers. The thumbnail is explicitly exploiting the triggering nature of these clips for views, which feels off from the overall messaging of Abbey’s Kitchen I know and love.
hrhcollection is still saying the same things to this day lol
I don't really recommend doing compilations in this way tbh. Without the usual counter arguments and guidance I don't see how this benefits anyone. It would be great if this was an update video with a complitation of how these creators have gotten better e.g. Right now it just feels like something that is only meant to shock the audience. That doesn't really feel like the message you usually bring. You're always so empathic towards the people you review and I like that about you.
I do wish to congratulate you on your 10 years of being a creator! That is really wonderful!
i love it that she wanted to look back at her worst moments.
Dang Abby! I see those biceps 💪 nice work
How come your shop is permanently unavailable? - I tried over and over but it always just says 'not safe' and I can't access it :(
hi, abbey 6:00 ok, i'm triggered. another 'angle'. certain spices and many types of vegetables can make me ill, in my gut. as a result, to other people, My Normal diet may appear to be abnormally limited.
all your works appreciated abby.... if it helps greg has over 4,000 vid's on calling out BS lol.... anyway, its your passion, ronnie coleman says your passion makes sure you never actually work a day in your life, keep up the great content
Abbey we need 2nd part please! Don’t forget to add the banana girl that Aussie chick 😅😅
I mean She started it but I like to keep it classy w her otherwise I worry she go another 5 part series on me haha
I loved your hair style back then. Looked really pretty and natural.
Gotten over being vulnerable about potentially having ADHD and back to being the mean girl.
I honestly don't think she has ADHD. She pretty much did that video just to gain sympathy, as like many other videos. What she has is snarkiness and narcissism, and I'll give her that (e.g. "my diet is better than everyone else's", replies like "did you watch the video?" to commenters who disagree with her that I've noticed in recent videos).
Great point
You look so consistently beautiful through all these years!
It’s not enough that they are doing it to themselves, they are literally screaming to others to do the same and try to make us feel bad and gross if we don’t follow their advices! 🙄🙄🙄
@@user-fc4xg5ym1t it’s science. Science has earn it’s own right to be screamed! Lol
Happy Anniversary 🎉🎉🎉
More, more, more. We want more content like this!
How about a “best of” video? Like a roundup of the people who aren’t full of sh-*t??
I feel like you watch what you eat judging from your body. You have no right to tell us what we can and cannot eat
She's a dietician this is her job. All of these other people are influencing people for the WORSE
same energy as colleen christensen with her 'intuitive eating' bs
Abbey is saying that Lizzo's diet is awesome but is mocking Victoria. And all of it behind words like "I'm worried" and blah blah. She is making fun of lean and fit people and praising unhealthy lifestyle because it is so woke and progressive.
Yup.
Honestly, all I see here is a compilation of self-righteous judgement vids of celebrities, and these are just a few examples of many. Everyone has their own preferences of food choices, and what's right for their body and what's not, which should not be projected upon.
Part of loving yourself is having self-discipline. Loving yourself is not simply honoring every single craving. What if one really needs to lose weight? Would it not make more sense to eventually "put the fork down" once you've had enough to eat because you care about changing your body for the better? We could really learn something from Adrian here, if that is diet hacks. Love yourself enough to become the best version of yourself, not love yourself enough to just eat everything you want.
How can you automatically suggest that K-pop celebrity IU needs over 3000 calories? You do realize she is a very small female (I think just over 100 pounds or something). You do realize that even 2000 calories is a lot for most women of that mass, right? Unless she's doing like an extreme amount of strenuous activity, she likely doesn't need 3000 calories (I'm not saying for certain, but I'm just saying that it's bold to suggest a specified calorie target for someone without considering the many contributing factors to one's TDEE).
Also, there is nothing wrong with having chocolate-covered almonds as a treat if that's what Kelly Ripa loves, even if it has something "healthy" in it. The irony here is that you do that as well in those HCCs: the fact that we need to dress up sugary foods with safe foods to justify eating such desserts rather than enjoy eating a dessert in its original form (if this doesn't scream Almond Mom recipes, I don't know what does). But I guess if you do it, it's okay. But if others do it, they have an ED. Talk about lack of self-awareness and/or hypocrisy.
I mean, as long as they are enjoying their diet and getting the outcome they want, there's not really much we can judge on these celebrities. There's not only "one way" to diet.
@@kates7277 True Greg Doucette fans will easily understand this. Although I don't think he will do it, I'd love it if he did a reaction video to this.
Do you not think that hours and hours of daily dance rehearsals and hours on stage count as strenuous activity? Those 100lb women are UNDERWEIGHT. Asian beauty standards are dangerous.
@@codename495 I never said that hours of dance rehearsals didn't count as strenuous activity. I questioned as if Abbey has the audacity to blatantly suggest a specified number of calories for an individual when she's not even in their shoes. How do we know IU's duration of dancing, intensity, type of exercises, etc. that contribute to calorie burn? That's only for IU to figure out by trial-and-error; she may or may not need 3000+ calories. Plenty of female gymnasts Olympics, for example, weigh just over 100 pounds, and I did happen to read in many sources that some consume as little as 1800 calories despite doing 3-hour sessions. You may think it's too little of an intake for that duration of workout, but consider that they spend a lot of that time waiting in line behind their teammates before it's their turn to perform a pole exercise or something.
IU is about 100 pounds at 5'4", according to sources I read (in case you're wondering), which I will admit would be classified as "underweight" by the BMI scale. Unless you don't have common sense, I will assume you know that BMI is flawed in many ways in which I do not need to explain on. Some of these women may naturally have a small frame or build in that they don't need to weigh as much to fill the frame out; their body fat% may be too high if they weighed in the middle of the healthy range, and hence may impede their dancing performance or whatever sport they do.
Funny how you mention "Asian beauty standards are dangerous." And what do you expect? That American standards should be used instead as the appropriate standard? Overweight/obese? Uh, no thanks dude. On average, plenty of Asians generally have a low obesity rate, and do not nearly eat as much processed foods as Americans. We can actually learn something from them.
@@user-fc4xg5ym1t 💯% this.
Agreed. Well written.
hi edtwt ^^
It's really sad to think about how disordered these people are. But in my opinion, that does NOT make it okay to post about it and influence others to follow your disordered way of eating. No matter how badly an eating disorder is and how far down the ed-spiral these celebrities are, they KNOW that it isn't healthy, and they absolutely shouldn't post their diets, knowing how big of an audience they are reaching.. smh
But it’s lucrative, so they bc do it anyway. Honestly though I’m sure that bc a fair number actually think they are being “ healthy”.
Honestly EDs are so sneaky, it’s not uncommon for those struggling to think what they’re doing is just healthy and then want to share it. But I do think it’s still possible to look at it and know it’s notu healthy for others. I
When I had an ed I absolutely could make that distinction that it was something I had to do (mental Illness) but I would never recommend to others
I unfollowed Victoria Beckham. Yes she is a fashion icon but her mere sight and how she poses for the camera to accentuate her skinniness is a huge trigger for me.
Honestly Abbey…You are triggering! When I watched one video where you said manufactures are actually allowed to put 20% more calories in food than it states on the label 🙄
Then there was your ‘drink one coffee and drink a glass of water with it rule’. All seems very hypocritical to me. I’ve decided to stop watching you.
Chill out with the fillers
Who else swapped binge eating for binge watching Abby? 🥹
Love this !!!!
Can you do some meals for a gastritis diet.???? Please. Thank you.
Healing by reducing the heat in the stomach? Lots of water, bland foods, low sugar, low salt, simple proteins, kinda like baby food. Also cucumbers blended with avocado in a smoothie. Healing. A little bit of ginger root blended with some cucumbers / maybe some berries. Take it slow and light. Also yoga-with-adrienne videos are soothing too which can be healing.
