I've always wanted to build one of these into a camper the moment I first saw a HMMWV ambulance over 30 years ago, but I have never come across one for sale that I could afford. I love the simplicity of your build. Sometimes people get carried away with do dads in their overlanded. Yours has just the right balance of comfort and practicality.

Having the headspace and lighting is awesome and pretty. However,I would maintain the outside shower and use the portable toilet outside as well and convert the toilet space into other useful spaces for other items. Change the engine to a beast and 4x4 with more horsepower and the likes.

Awesome set up apart from only having a single bed. You could pretty easily convert it to a slide out double using a back cushion for the extra width.

Any duramax in my opinion there jt knowing for reliability

I have a question that’s probably already been asked. You’re in Florida. It’s hot there. Why did you go with a black exterior? You also doubled down with a black exterior, on the shade. If you had gone with silver on the box, it would be much easier to cool. When you reach a certain age, you may find that it’s more important to BE cool, than to LOOK cool.
