Dane stands on his teleporters regularly because he's the type of guy who likes to live life on the edge.
It's entirely because it's WAY more likely that you'll get back-stabbed than it is to get randomly telefragged. I'd rather stand on top of a teleporter exit with my back facing a wall than stand facing the teleporter exit with my back exposed. Also I'm a thrill-seeking adrenaline junkie, yep.
Build the teleporter an engi's distance away from the wall. Then you can upgrade with your back against the wall and you won't get telefragged. Poggerdogger'd

Gus Cox further away from a wall = easier to spot by someone rounding a corner and is easier to shoot at. Think of it as “if it’s exactly next to the wall, you have to get around/past the wall or cornerpeek the wall, if it’s a bit away from the wall you can shoot around the wall from a position behind the wall without corner peeking/hugging the wall.

Death Dealer (Throwable Ace of Spades. Knife Replacement):
Throwable, rechargeable.
Target hit is Marked for Death.
Cannot backstab.

Dead Drop (Silver Pocket Watch. Sapper Replacement):
Throwable, rechargeable, cannot sap.
On contact with environment, plays Dead Ringer noise.
Can be thrown while cloaked.

@@dacomputernerd4096 Well, if you enjoy playing soldier, I'd recommend renting the Disciplinary Action from the Mann Co. Store for free and playing with it for a while. It's a fantastic item to use when leaving your spawn. Smack your teammates and they'll love ya

I actually feel like I learned quite a bit watching this, especially in positioning. The idea of "cooking" your dispenser never really occurred to me before. Strangely enough, I also got something out of observing you fighting Scouts. I have a bad habit of shooting at where they *are* as opposed to where they're moving *towards*. I feel like realizing this will help improve my aim. Thank you!

Nothing makes me more furious when I upgrade someone's entrance to level 3 for them only to get yelled at for taking the teleporter, it's infuriating, I decided to not run to the front just so you could get your support points and you're yelling at me for HELPING YOU.

Good points have been raised, but i also maybe a bit of... i dont think confirmation bias is the term, but like
whenever you play an esoteric and usually unviable playstyle, you might assume that youll do poorly, or at least poorer compared to what your class is capable of? So you notice when you win with fat scout more than when you notice when you win as regulat heavy. Thats my experience with demopan anyway wheese

What we can learn:
1. When playing gunslinger focus on other buildings such as teles and dispensers.
2. In KOTH you have 2 gameplay style which is Team Play (guarding flanks with sentry, provide dispenser and teleporters. The other being Ninjaneer putting teles in random spots behind the enemy flank and could either be a game changer or a waste of time.
3. Always pay attention to the kill board. Know when to move your buildings since the number of people alive decides the wave of battle.
4. Keep eyes on your surroundings, that cheeky spy could strike at any time.

Real Engi Momment: I Sentry Jumped once picked up my sentry, and once i landed, which was in front of red teams spawn,

A Spy capped the points while my guys were stealing my place, so i moved my things to go and defend the point,
I got to the last point and saw the Spy, i place down me sentry and started shooting at him,

I really enjoy this style of video, it very much of reminds me of stabbystabby's commentaries where he would just show a match or some clips and simply explain his strategy and thought process.
Nothing makes me happier as an Engineer than knowing the team is making good use of the dispenser!
Fun Fact: when your dispenser is upgrading after it was moved you still get health and ammo while it upgrades to levels 2 and 3
I have a phobia of standing directly on top of my teleporter. The chances of a spy tele-fragging me are low but never 0

A engy who let a Pyro go first when his stuff being zapped (if you know they got the homewrecker) is so rare. You usually get yelled at for not letting them go through whilst i as pyro can go through burn down the spy and unzap the stuff way faster. Love engys who use their fellow Pyros =)
That part about destroying your buildings so spies don't benefit from them, you can do stuff like that everywhere. For example killbinding when you're about to die to a demoknight or when you know you can't escape being phlog'd.
Really enjoy this type of commentary, hopefully you enjoy making this as well!

So glad to see you're uploading again Dane. Found your channel a couple months ago and have seen all your videos. I'm a fellow Engie main, and an Engineering student in college. I know you don't like 2Fort much, but I was curious as to your opinion on using it and other CTF maps as a proving ground of sorts for new play styles and getting a feel for different loadouts. As well as honing my reaction times and such

It takes 3 Spies to manage a single Great Dane, so of course they needed 3.
Weapon: The Rangers Wrench
Discription: You can upgrade, repair, and refill buildings from a range 3x the engineers normal range.
Upside: -Start with +50 max metal
-While Active: 20% movement speed
-+20% more Overheal
Downside: -Build buildings 15% slower than stock
- -15 Max Health
- 10% less healing from medic sources
- Marked for death when hauling

+Sentry has 50% extra ammo
-other engineers cannot heal your buildings
-cannot refill sentry of ammo
-cannot pick up buildings. If you want to set up somewhere else, you have to self destruct.

eh i feel like it makes mini spam even easier due to the lower cost and extra health, plus not being able to move your buildings would feel more like an annoyance than a downside.
