Thank you for putting this together - Great memories of Gomer Pyle USMC. I even had one of the Gomer Pyle metal lunch boxes back in the mid 60's. TV at its' best!!!
I loved these people, and felt like they were a part of our lives cause we liked the show so much! I miss this time in my life! R.I.P. to all these fine actors and actresses that intertained us for a good family show!
That was a great show. I was only a year old when it started in 1964. (I think that is when it started). Sad that most of them are gone. I enjoy watching reruns of it today. Thanks 👍.
These kind souls warmed our hearts and made us smile, laugh and even shed a tear. How wonderful that God blessed us with them in the time they were here. Their pictures and their passing should also remind us of own mortality as well. Please give thanks to God for every heartbeat and every breath that you are given as each one is a special gift from Him. Please also reconcile with God what He has written on your heart as you will stand before Him someday. God bless everyone and thank you for posting this excellent video!

One of my favorites shows. Forrest Compton [Lieutenant Gray] (3:20) in my opinion played one of the most endearing male characters of all time. A real man (who we need more of today)-unwavering authority balanced perfectly with pure prudence and compassion!
He played the role of district attorney Michael Karr on The Edge of Night. He also appeared in several episodes of The FBI as a Special Agent in Charge or a Senior Resident Agent. He was also a World War II veteran, he served with the United States Army in the European campaign.

Sorry that most of the characters are gone. The show is still in re-runs and is very funny. I love the old shows of the 1960's. They bring back fond memories of a time that more simple and and easy to live in.
Helluva good singer I loved his deep voice it was amazing. I loved the song On the banks of the Wabash he sang this song at the beginning of the Indianapolis 500 race. I loved watching Gomer Pyle. It is on every Tuesday morning where I live and I watch it every week
Larry Hovis was on the show for one season. He was private Larry Gottschalk, Alan Melvin was Staff Sergeant Charlie Hacker, the first photo posted was him playing Corporal Henshaw on Sergeant Bilko. Ted Bessell who played Private Lomardi later was Ann Marie's boyfriend Donald on That Girl. Forrest Compton who was Colonel Gray also appeared on The FBI as a Special Agent in Charge and as district attorney Michael Karr on The Edge of Night. Thomas Leonetti who was of Italian ancestry played Private Nicolas Cucinelli another Italian.
I remember one night I was around 10 years old and the program started at 7pm. It was 7:15 and I was missing it!! I found an open (unlocked) window in the living room and crawled through so I wouldn't miss the show! Yes it was our house.
What a great show this was. Nothing like it on TV today but its own show, now on ME-TV... I watch it every night. Crazy, almost all the actors from the show have passed on. Only Elizabeth MacRae (Lou-Ann Poovie) and Ronnie Schell (Duke Slater) are still with us. Very old but, still with us. I remember, I was 18 years old in 1974, Living in Daytona Beach, when I read the paper that "Frank Sutton had died! I was shocked! He was still a young man.. how could he die? Guess he had a bad Heart. Maybe all that yelling at Gomer for 5 years took a toll on him!
Tommy Leonetti Cpl Nick Cuccinelli and Roy Stuart Cpl Boyle and Elizabeth MacRae Lou Ann Poovie And the rest of the cast were all wonderful actors And actresses . By the way Mark Slade played Private Eddie Peters On season one only of GOMER PYLE USMC . Richard Sinatra was the nephew of Frank Sinatra. Buck Young played Sgt Whipple on GP on seasons one and season two. Awesome presentation. The only inaccuracy was the photo of Andy Griffith, which was taken about a decade later than 1964, as The Andy Griffith Show was being filmed and Andy appeared clearly younger*
Watch gomer pyle every night love homer and sgt carter sure miss the days and ronnie schell played on an episode of sanford & soncalled the committee man as morris wilkins super funny😂

William Christepher went on to potray Father Mulcahey on MASH. And he was on two episodes of The Andy Griffith show, The New Doctor In Town, and Aunt Bea on TV. Actor Ted Bissell went on to potray Don Hollinger, boyfriend of Ann Marie in the tv show, That Girl. Also, the actor who potrayed Fast Freddy on this show I think is the same actor who was on MASH to when they were traveling throughout South Korea entertaining the troops during the Korean war. I truly believe that actress Elizabeath McRay also was in an episode of MASH when a baby was left off at the Swamp and the 4077 tried to go to the Red Cross to help the little baby to go to the United States whare she would live a much better life. Elizabath McRay potrayed the Red Cross worker in that episode. Could be wrong, yet I think for sure that that truly was her on MASH.
