    Thanks a lot for this tutorial, Why we don't use density in N/mm3?

    • @AElkady
      @AElkady  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      1) Newton is a force unit not a mass unit. 2) As per ABAQUS documentation, if you are using SI (N and mm) units, the the density should be defined in ton/mm3 units.

    • @alejmora
      @alejmora ปีที่แล้ว

      The key is that in the SI (based in mm): Length (mm), Force (N), Mass (1=Tonne 10^3 Kg), Stress (MPa = N/mm^2), Density (tonne/mm^3)

    I am sure but density if calculated in kg/mm3 should be 7.85e-6. I know it doesn't matter in static analysis but I just want to confirm.

    • @AElkady
      @AElkady  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, that's not correct. Please note that if you are using SI (N and mm) units in Abaqus (as in this example), the the density should be in ton/mm3 not kg/mm3 as you assumed.

      @@AElkady Thank you so much for your prompt response. Do you think the results will be different if I change the density in quasi static analysis? Moreover, can you plot the hysteresis response under cyclic loading for the given structure and its moment rotation curve?

    Thank you very much, but I think 7.85e-9 for mass density (ton/mm3) and not (n/mm3). what are the units that abaqus adopts?

    Sir
    While using step as static general, can we give a negative slope stress-strain curve in material property
    I'm modelling cfst column with a negative stress- strain curve subjected to cyclic loading
    How should I give material property and step module?

    Great videos sir I have watched all the videos in this playlist thanks for such useful videos. Sir, I have one confusion in defining the material for the plasticity I have given density, youngs modulus and poissons ration and yield plastic stress with corresponding strain 0 and in sub-option I used rate dependent(power law). Is this enough for the plasticity or I have to add UTS and respective strain?

      And also I am doing a forming simulation in abaqus so there is any option to define rotation speed of the spindle?

      the slope equation (young's modulus = stress / strain) is only for elastic range of slope not for plastic range

    Shouldn't it be 0.18 - (470/200000) since the elastic recovery at that point is not the same as the other points.
