Alexander Dubcek was the prime minister of Czechoslovakia in 1968, during the Prague Spring. He attempted to withdraw his country from the Treaty of Warsaw and this triggered the invasion of the country by the USSR and its allies. Romania did not participated to the invasion.

The Novotel Hotel is built in the place were the First National Theatre vas, in 1836 the Filarmonica Society bought the land, in 1845 an Austrian architect plans were chosen and in 1852 vas the premiere of the first play. The Theatre building vas bombarded by the german aviation in August 1944 during the second world war. The entrance in the Novotel Hotel built in 2006 is the replica of theatre entrance (portico)
Dear Mario, Humanitas and Cartaresti are not libraries, although in romanian are called Librarie, they are bookstores. The church next to the national gallery is the Kretzulescu Church, not a cathedral and it was built 300 years ago. What is the point to show some statues in the park next to the Kretzulescu church -not knowing who they are- and skipping the amazing Atheneum building across from the Museum of Art / National gallery…
