Love all the comments on the building construction by westerns who have never built or been part of a house build in the west but somehow has comments on filipino contruction lol. Filipino construct is fine it works. Take it from people who have had things built. Like myself.
I'm no expert, but the concrete block doesn't even look safe. Big gaps in mortar and uneven blocks make me doubt its load-bearing reliability. The design and scope are very interesting. Thanks for showing us.

Yep agree don't put western construction standards on these, they stand well and have no issues from my experience having built things. It looks strange but it's good.
I love the Philippines and I love my month traveling there and experience I will definitely be back but I don't think I would ever want to build a house if I can't physically own the land I have to do it through a marriage or some weird legal Mumba lumba stuff and no thank you I think that's something that the Philippines should upgrade yes they need to build things in with that system for them to protect their people at the same time you already have abundance of overbuilt condos which yeah I can see renting one of them in the city and renting a house somewhere out the city
For the philipines wouldnt it make sense to use concrete and rebar rather than bricks and cement to stand up to earthquakes and typoons seems like bricks and cement would disintigrate in eatrthquakes and collapse
The more lightweight and more flexible building is the more it resist earthquake. Properly built hollow blovk building is much better than concrete for earthquake protection. And even better is bamboo house.
Yep the more a building can move the better it survive. Equally spending way more money to have it knocked down makes zero sense. Equally you have to consider the heat and humidity. Hollow blocks and these building methods make sense and it works and it's cost effective.
Yikes 😮it’s always a risk to get married and buy property, I did but I just got a modest house for my wife ( I don’t say us, because I know the pratfalls of owning land ,property in the Philippines, and I’ll be long dead anyway before she is)😆😆 the key I think is don’t spend more than you can afford to walk away from, and always have a place in your home country you can go back to. a lot of ex-pats go all in with their money and move here , only to get booted out/off the property when her old boyfriend shows up suddenly, and end up living on the streets.. this guy is taking a huge risk I think, but hopefully everything works out..
The cement plaster they make because the hollow blocks are not strong ( they often break only by lifting them) thats why I think making your own concrete blocks is better, you can skip the iron in the wall and the cement plaster, in the end it will be the same time and money but then you have a strong build
@@Ayutarda I'm married to a Filipina and my brother n law is in construction in Philippines. I've even helped build hollow block walls with the guys, I do understand very well thank you.
Every time there is a foreigner building a house in the Philippines with their Pilipino partner most comments are focused to the Filipina and not to the property. It’s always the same story calling the woman she is only after the money etc. etc. I’m not saying here that it’s not true it can happen like it may happen anywhere in a ralationship. But my point here is if a western middle age man will get into a relationship with a much younger innocent Filipina woman you must know what you are going in to in the first place. And not always the woman’s bad image. Because I want to believe that these women despite of everything they are mostly looking for someone to lift the hardship in life and at the same time giving a man companionship and help him his everyday life much easier in a strange place where a man choose to be. Good luck to the owner of this house and wishing you a enjoyable stay.
These kind of comments ideally mean a few things. With comments like my man needs to make 6 figures etc. so you cannot say that's unquie to Filipino women. Having lived in the Philippines now, alot of them are happy staying there and being close to families they don't want saving. Most are looking for a good man. Filipino men tend to drink and gamble depending on where you live and are not very forthcoming and don't plan. Filipino women tend to want a man who can look after them, make them happy and isn't going to leave her. Most are looking for that over wealth.
