haha you know what, I was wondering about that pronunciation. I've heard it as "pyew-juh-list" before. But, I figured I'd go with "puh" and hope for the best :)
Just want to add for any Hunters out there: Your Threaded Spike hitting multiple enemies will trigger the origin trait on each hit. Oddly the Withering Blades however does not. Not entirely sure why but something to keep in mind. Also Grapple Melee does benefit from all the points in the video so if any Hunters haven't been able to take off Spirit of Synthos (which I believe gives full benefit to the grapple melee iirc) this is def worth grabbing. Honestly worth considering using even if you have Swordbreaker if you won't miss out on the Strand synergy.
If you're on arc hunter (or prismatic with combination blow) you don't really need pugilist because you never lose your melee. Mine has threat remover for more handling, field prep might also be good for more reserves.
Yeah! Field prep on this gun is crazy too! I've only been playing Titan since I returned to this game. So, hank you for sharing that piece of advice about Hunters too!
Nah this thing is better imo. By alot. The only thing better on that is lead from gold and thats it. The frame itself are different. This shotty is great for dps. Waste lander is not great for that
@@rickiboulter3053not only that but, it has deeper reserves which waste doesn't have being a lw frame. And lw frame bonus is bugged rn anyway. Gg. Origin trait is better, this allows you to spread out evenly among champs/mini bosses etc. and dps is better. Probably similar on total dmg if reserves is more.
While shotguns aren't necessarily within my playstyle realm, this breakdown definitely has me convinced to give Perfect Paradox a try! The amount of damage it does is crazy!
Yeah. I feel you. Perfect Paradox has convinced me to try out shotguns more. But its hard to pull away from my Aberrant Action + Sword playstyle lol. It's too fun at the moment!
i wanted this weapon since i saw the perk list bcs its the only kinetic shotgun with 12p and that pseudo grave rober, there is other ones like the one from hawthorne(i dont even know where to get this weapon, i assume xur and banshee?) and the one that was from the moon but for what i know bungie took the grave rober out the rotation, and even if it is on, this one has that perk guaranteed, less farm and a more easy one at that, for that roll, works wonders and you can add field prep to have more ammo, its just too good, if by adding mag size you can get it to reload 3 per punch you can use it for a trench barrel roll too for no reloads at all, its truly a wonderful weapon that lived up to its old glory
Oh, I hadn't realized it was that special of a shotgun. You really put it into perspective. I'm right that on the hype train with you for Perfect Paradox!
@@GeekMediaCentral well, for a trench build there are better picks for dps and total damage but its a pretty easy choice bcs you dont need that much rng to get it to work bcs one of them is fixed, for a 12p its mint
Nah i definitely don't agree with that I've been using it since weekly reset and I don't think any 12p gun will be replacing it any time soon. Much getter and a viable dps source not like every other shott with 12p except the 140 rpm solar version.
i think it was just oversight, because everything else has it, maybe the cast no shadow weapons weren't going to be in the episode but got added last minute
Theres a chance its one of the perks (or a form of it) in Act 3, but probably not likely. I do find it odd that Sundering (weapons from Warlords Ruin) has overcharged this season though when its not a part of this expansion or season/episode.
Hmm well slide shot opening shot would be great for PVP. I haven't tried slideshot at all in PVE. However... I guess Titans slide before going into Consecration. So I could see some synergy there. Not a bad idea lol.
Never been the biggest fan of shotguns myself, the ammoeconomy and the reloadtimes never really fit my playstyle. With this however it seems that all of my peves of shotguns have been addressed. Might be time to retry the shotguns. Thanks for the insight! Good video!
Hey gramps! Yeah, I was surprised how well this works in melee builds and how it reloads itself. I just happened to remember seeing the name of that origin trait "Cast no Shadows' in our artifact. Then, I had to test it out to make sure it worked the way I thought. Its pretty amazing! LOL

Great advice! Thank you for spreading the knowledge to Hunters out there!
I prefer trench barrel over OTP since it actually works with range melees
That's a good alternative perk!

it''s an okay OTP shotgun for this season. F2P players can go into Dares of Eternity and craft a perfect wastelander for similar results.
True! Wastelander is a decent alternative. I guess the biggest difference is that Perfect Paradox is full-auto with deeper reserves.

pYOUgilist. As in "YOU". PEW PEW PUGILIST. I know it doesn't matter but.... still.
I thought it might be pYou also. But most other comments are saying Pew. So... 🤔

Pugilist is overrated imo, at least on 12P shotguns. Only time im using the shotgun is on an enemy that wont die to the shotgun alone
It's a primary perk for sure

@@rickiboulter3053 ? Yeah duh its a best in slot 12p shotgun because of the origin trait, doesnt make pugilist a useful perk on it tho
@@DerpsterIV it literally has synergy. You obviously don't even use it. What is the better colmn 3 perk here then mate since you know it all.
Cast no shadows having no overcharge this season is so weird
Maybe Bungie was worried it would be too strong if it was? Just a thought.

Weapon so good it replaced my level 381 No Reprieve Shotgun which I haven't taken off in 2 years
Lol oh damn! Hell yeah! I'm glad you're loving this reworked shotty. It really is a blast to use!
You should try with no backup plans and trench barrel, it does really good damage
Ooh. That's an interesting setup. I might have to try that out today... Thanks! 🙏
What a great review! I’m impressed. Seriously, great job! 👏

Pugilist is pronounced "pew-jil-ist"
Haha thanks! I guess I botched the pronunciation on this video pretty bad. Good looking out though. I'll fix it going forward!
Yeah that's a pve SG all the way. I wouldn't use it in pvp . Because their are way better SG .
Definitely! This is great for killing mobs and generating energy back. I wouldn't take this to PVP.
Left when you said pugilist
