Thank you for your recommendations. I am just wondering, how much will the two surgeries cost in USD for a patient who is coming from Africa? And in typical cases, how does an overseas patient acquire the accommodation for the processes etc? I am of no knowledge on the logistics and recommendations.

I am 2 weeks and 2 days out from microdiscectomy. The pain relief and absence of numbness is amazing. Surgery at the Birmingham spine neuro center. Still uncomfortable from the incision area but wish I had the surgery months ago. Thankful for the technology and medical expertise of the physician.

I’m about to have one in 5 days and am terrified but the pain I’m experiencing in my lumbar is mind breaking .
Did the alleviation of sciatic pain outweigh the incision / surgical pain.

Yes! It was a noticeable difference. The pain will be in the surgical area instead of the leg. Saw my surgeon yesterday for follow up. He said to begin stretches and if I continued to improve, he would release me after the next visit in 4 weeks. Wish that I had had the surgery earlier. Truly getting my life back. I hope your surgery goes well.

Sir, one of my queries regarding endoscopic Lumbar surgery is that, after the herniated portion of the nucleus pulposus is removed and the never gets decompressed, HOW DOES THE CRACK OF ANNULUS FIBRIOSUS heals since there was a crack and a passage of the nucleus.
Won't it be left cut open ? Or any external coagulant is added?

They take out the lamina or top bone to relive the pressure bit that can also cause a needed fusion later on due to a lack of support so utilize other options.
