Pat, you HAVE to watch highlights of the Isle of Man TT. It is a motorcycle race around the Isle of Man on the normal public roads. Like people will be sitting on the sidewalk enjoying a coffee while someone rips by at 200+ MPH. It is 37 miles around the island and the record is under 17 minutes.

Really just the product of him growing up climbing since he was a kid. He was really one of the first generation of kids who grew up near climbing gyms. The people growing up today have even more access to it.

I work in a climbing gym, and playing football in a semi pro league in israel. I definetly including rock climbing in my training and conditioning. The agilty, coordinartion and explosive strength in rock climbing is something i try bring to my performance on the field (im a db), doing boulder (short explosive routes) has a major plyometric aspect, that benefit athletic ability combined with upper body strength (wheighted pull ups+ dips, trx etc). And classic big 3 and conditioning in a regular gym.

I would be skyscrapers are way easier to climb generally speaking and would be boring for a talent like Honnold. The hand and foot holds, climbing moves are very typical for floor after floor after floor. And depending on the construction materials used and being climbed upon not really likely to break at any point. Honnold could potentially reach out, grab a rock hold that's been climbed hundreds of time safely and have it break off in his hand. At a critical moment, that's death. There was a free solo climber who died when the hold snapped. He was heard to say "No!" by a nearby climber and then plummeted silently to his death.
Last time I've seen Sal, he was doing the insane Red Bull stuff, crankworx stuff up in whisler, the Mtbike thing in the desert down a mountain where you essentially make your own line, and so on.

Pat. Start by jumping out of a airplane tandem at 10,000 feet. You will get the feeling of flying, trust me it is fun. Before I jumped, I watched 2 guys in the military jump from only 500 feet. One bounced off the runway, the other landed in a corn field. I heard his supior name him scarecrow. I jumped with my daughter and son. Great. Memories.
We were all kids knowing those skateboarders names. Everyone knew those guys. Now days kids just know random TicTok stars doing lame ass dances or pranks. That's what's changed in my opinion. I'm in my 30's like McAfee crew.
Ok. So for it to be a "whitest/blackest" sport, it has to be something that makes you think, "Why would any sane person do this!?" So stuff like hockey for whites, basketball for blacks doesn't count. Nothing crazy about those sports. With that in mind, the blackest sport is the milk crate challenge. I swear every video I saw of that thing, it was like 95% Black people doing it.

Edit: For the love of god it's not "Free climbing". It's "Free soloing". Two different disciplines.
