How helpful will an insurance qualification like the ones offered by CII be to someone with very little work experience in the Insurance field if he or she wants to start their own brokerage? Hi Shamil, thanks for subscribing and great question! In short, licensing is very important for foundational knowledge about products and how they work. Although, its not sufficient to start your own agency in my opinion. Id suggest you have some experience working at an agency for at least a couple months if not years. It’s important to understand the logistics of how the business operates. For example quoting, binding coverage, taking payments, endorsements, etc. I hope that helps!

How long have you been working there? Do you like it? Also are they paying you on commissions too?

@@mairaviscarra9519 hmm that’s strange. They should be paying commissions. Especially with life insurance, there’s a lot of money to be made. I recommend you ask to get commission and if they don’t want to, explore other options.

Yes definitely. I’m not good at it but there’s some agents that crush it.
