Jeremy thank you for sharing such clear overview of the steps involved in the process of starting my own agency. I am with an agency for life insurance but I want to build an agency around Medicare insurance. I’d love to chat about that….how to start that from zero clients and wanting to be appointed directly with the carriers. Thank you for the great work and INSPIRATION!
Great questions. West Bend is a company. They serve about 12 states in the Midwest. Our favorite aggregator is Iroquois. There are a lot of reasons for that which is coming soon in a video. What aggregators are you looking at?
@@ShineInsurance We have worked with AmWins which has been a beyond horrible experience so we are looking for a better one and don't want to step on a landmine.
Appreciate the video, very well thought out. I currently work for one of the large insurance companies and am thinking about venturing out to become an independent agent. Are most companies requiring a physical location to become appointed? Any tips on how to find an office space that is reasonable when just starting out?
Hey Brandon. It's a great move! Many companies still want to stop by your physical office and see that as a plus. Also, a company called IVANS will want to stop by your office and confirm that you actually are who you say you are before giving you access to "downloads" and other personal information on your clients. So going without a physical address does create those boundaries. We are 100% virtual so it is possible. As for finding a good office, that's a great opportunity to connect with your first referral relationship. A great Realtor!
very good sharing. Also could you share more information about where can I get good resource for independent agent to make an appointment with Auto and Home insurance companies? Thanks.
@@ShineInsurance Yes, I am. Already started the LLC and got Florida's agency license. Also got the EIN and a DBA. Filled a couple of appointment requests last night. But I'm brand new, so I don't know how it will be. I did check with Iroquois but they require more than I can offer... I filled SIAA's application too. I'm in the most West city in Florida and there's only one another insurance agent here that's capable of speaking Spanish. Alabama has lots of small cities between here and Mobile (that's 50 miles away). My intention is to work mostly with the growing Latino population, and because of it, I'm looking for appointments with carriers and clusters with an appetite for non-standard customers.
I've had my real estate license in the past and acquired my insurance agent license in FL two years ago although I worked in a call center for a few months and quickly realized it was like working in a sweat shop. Although you were working as a 1099 contractor, they expected you to be in the office 10 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to build your book of business. Not what I was looking for at this stage of life. I'm looking to devote my time to either real estate or insurance agency moving forward. I've relocated to Vincennes, IN and from what I see, real estate sales don't look very promising. Any advice you can give as far as starting fresh in the field of insurance in this area would be greatly appreciated.
Hey sir, I have been planning to open an insurance agency for trucking insurance, what license do I have to get to be quilified for that? I would be so grateful for the answers, tnx beforehand and be in a peace!

very informative! excellent in explaining each topic in the presentation!
Great video! Coming from a goosehead agent. Thanks
Thanks Jerry! Goosehead certainly makes a lot of sense when starting from scratch. If you could do it again what direction would you go?
Excellent video! Thank you much!
Is West Bend an aggregator? What is the best aggregator that you have worked with?

@@cbatchler we made a video breaking down some of the options. Here it is: th-cam.com/video/ngH2uHhSBvs/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for your video. I would like to know how to get appointment with Safeco, Travelers, and Mercury. Thanks again!
Have you considered an aggregator? Sometimes you can connect with them and then company appointments are easier.

I'm in the process of getting my license. No experience. I want to be independent. What do you recommend?

Great info
Hi , Can you become broker right after getting your license ?
Yes, you can start selling insurance as soon as you are licensed in your state. Good luck on your test!

I never received anything, and I am captive. I really want to transition from captive to independent. I just do not know how.
Don't become a scam artist. Insurance companies need to be held accountable for how they're ruining this country.
You sound dumb
What's ruining this country is Corporate Landlords. Insurance is the only way we own anything on borrowed money.
