@@Katya-zj7ni lol i wanna pour hot tea over it and get myself a big bowl! This would look so good as a cake getting sliced or with kids breaking it apart and eating it! I would love to see a vid like that.
I would love see also the gingerbread. Some of those builds just doesn't feel like gingerbread creations when all you can see is some kind of sugar coating. They look fantastic tho :)
2:00 oh hell yea. Charles dickens is the first place winner! These all look amazing not just from an artist’s standpoint but also from a foodie’s standpoint. Great work!
They should separate the ginger bread by ages group! So like would be kids, amateur and professional, and i thing would be fair have 3 winner each group! And fair as well!
They drill into them and take samples to check the inner parts for structural supports that shouldn’t be there. (I saw another video of this same competition that showed them drilling.)
Most of these are entirely mising the point of gingerbread houses. They're just regular miniature models done with edible materials. Masterfully crafted, but not fun at all. Competition isn't always good...
What do you mean? Its not like they chose who goes to the contedt and who doesn't, its not like a scripted play where they choose ethnicity of the roles, its literally just random people of any colour making gingerbread houses
I actually loved the blue one.
The blue one was GORGEOUS.
How did they not win over a stack of books? That light blue house is why i clicked
White Alliance I’d love to live in it 😂

@@whitealliance9540 , exactly what I was thinking, the one with the dogs was also breathtaking though

I could never choose a winner, these were all so impressive!!
Whoa! Jennifer Martin is BREATHTAKING!

"some of these took over 500 hours to build"
me: lol imagine a kid hyped up from all the sugar he ate running around and knocking the things over
The winner wasn’t even a house. And it didn’t look anywhere near as polished as the one from the thumbnail. Rip
👏👏👏 bravo to all!!!
So do they break them and eat them at the end to make sure its edible? Im calling BS on some of that stuff being edible.

if you need a saw and sander to build a gingerbread house you might as well use plywood.
www.exploreasheville.com/blog/post/photo-tour-2017-national-gingerbread-house-competition-winners You can see the winners of each age group here
Go to the old city of Sanaa, you will see the real gingerbread houses. Hundreds of years old.
They don't look like gingerbread houses. :(
They're made out of gingerbread
You’re right. They’re more like gingerbread mansions.
Yes, Debby Downer, they are and they are wonderful!
I would love to do this
Congratulations
I found you can get the $40.00 a month for food network on streaming live tv Hulu

Wow, where is the diversity?
What do you mean? Its not like they chose who goes to the contedt and who doesn't, its not like a scripted play where they choose ethnicity of the roles, its literally just random people of any colour making gingerbread houses
There is diversity! The people are of different ages and from different parts of the country!
This is a troll, just trying to be snarky. dont take it seriously, folks.
@@persebra there are so many retards on the internet that you won't know anymore who's serious or not.
There were look like TONS of middle age white ladies that were in the competition.
