"Seventeen years by her side, broke the same bread wore the same clothes and we said we're sisters with nothing between, if one of us falls, the other will soon be following." This hits me every time. These lines are somehow related to me and my brother. The only difference is that we were brothers but the lyrics talks about sister. We really used to share our clothes, foods, room, etc. He was a year older than me and we spent 16 years and 8 months together, nearly 17 years. Rest in peace, brother.
I was reading ur comment and i thought what a wonderful relation you have with ur brother when i reached the end i couldn't help but crying.... I'm so sorry for ur loss 💔💔
It reminds me of people that try (and sometimes succeed) at suicide. Don't let them do it. Don't let them go it alone. Be their something to hold on to when they don't have anything left. Be the one who runs for their life. Be their shelter, and be their friend. But most of all, Be the one who saves a life. I had my chance and I blew it. They succeeded, and I lost my best friend, as I watch him on FaceTime. Don't let suicide win. Life is precious, don't let them take theirs away.
I lost my sister to suicide in 2017. I heard this song before it and felt so connected to it... I wish I would’ve known she was gonna do it. I would’ve stayed by her side
i keep seeing stuff about the beatles version being better. it isnt because it's a totally different song with totally different lyrics and a totally different meaning!
This band is always in my top 5 for sure. Gets u right in the feels. 🤧 I have a sister and I couldn't imagine anything happening to her. "If one of us falls, the other will soon be following"....."you don't have to go it alone!" DONT GIVE UP! Truly a remarkable song.
This music video was perfectly made. I just love how they included different types of people of different race, culture, tradition, etc. Even the clothing the people wear. They're all different. Some modern, some old. The message/meaning of the song is also beautiful. I'm so glad my brother's had listened to this band when I was young, otherwise, I wouldn't even be here. ♥
this song reminds me of me and my little sis and all the struggles we've faced. she is the strongest person I know.i pray for her daily....i know without a doubt that we both can get through anything. and that we will be fine.
'I know the hunger inside of you is strong, you can only hold back the river so long; you don't have to go it alone' these lines really just break me, I'll just cry Dec 2021: this song, among many, says everything I wish I hear when I was younger. now I'm trying to re-parent myself. thank you for being there in the younger, critical years of my life.
I cried when I sang this. I'm a twin and it makes me think about the day when one of us dies. Will the other one continue for the other, or end it? Makes you think about it...
I hate it when people say The Fray, Coldplay, Keane and Snow Patrol are 'boring'. They're obviously just too dense to see the beauty in songs like this.
Just because you don't understand prayer, doesn't mean that it doesn't work. A long time ago people didn't understand that the earth traveled around the sun, but that didn't stop it from working as intended.
My father died when I was 16. And now this summer at 21 years of age in 3 months I lost 60+ pounds. I had the speed as a kid but weight got in the way. But now the inspiration is applying to everything else in my life. My legs propel and drive everything else. Now I could relate to this song to the fullest extent. And with that resilient attitude that was missing. On repeat all day. This is why I love the songs that the Fray makes. It really gets to you heart. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Seriously I am a part of every fandom, directioner, sheerio, little black star ect... But The Fray will always be my favourite band. Nobody can say that The Fray aren't amazing, seriously don't lie to your soul
Absolutely beautiful. The fray this song and all of their other songs are so beautiful....i listen to them over and over and over ever single day...they give me so much strength to keep on going and not to give up. Litterally grasps your soul with a blanket of comfort. ❤❤❤❤ seeing them live or meeting in person is definitely on my bucket list.
My favorite part about this song is that it relates to so many different peoples situations all around the world. It brings a new meaning to "You don't have to go it alone," ya know? I lost my best friend at the age of 17 and we were like sisters...I thought I had lost my entire world, but then I read some of these comments and I know I'm not the only one suffering. I wonder if that makes me strange...to be happy that there are others like me, even though we are all very sad.
They are probably trying to reach out to people who go through tough times and contemplate suicide. Not everyone can always relate to those catchy love songs all the time. I am actually greatful that there are bands like The Fray who write songs other people can relate to. I don't think there is a greater feeling in music than listening to the song and feeling like you can truly relate to the lyrics. It really touches my heart.
deep down you love your siblings no matter what.. thumbs up if you love your family, if this made you think how sad it would be to lose them, that if you died you still want them to live
I love this song it always reminds me that there will always be that one person that will be there for you. If you fall they won't be able to go on and they will fall to.
Seventeen years by her side Broke the same bed Wore the same clothes and we said We're sisters with nothing between If one of us falls The other will soon be following Both of you fell the same day You don't know why One of you never woke up And you laid by her down on the floor Desperate to hear her footsteps again But this house is on fire We need to go Oh, you don't have to go it alone, go it alone Run for your life my love, Run and don't give up With all that you are, All that you want I will be close behind Run for your life She had a fire inside And that terrified you You swore you'd never lose your control Baby let yourself go It's part of your height And I know the hunger inside of you is strong You can only hold back the river so long Oh, you don't have to go it alone Oh, you don't have to go it alone, go it alone Run for your life my love, Run and you don't give up With, all that you are And all that you want Run for your life right now And if you don't know how Come back a few Take all that's true And leave all that's broke behind Run for your life Oh, you don't have to go it alone Go it alone, go it alone, Run for your life my love Run and you don't give up All that you are All that you want Run for your life right now And if you don't know how Go back a a few Take all that's true And leave all that's burnt behind Just run for your life Run for your life
I love The Fray because their music is powerful and speaks the truth. They may not get the recognition they deserve but honestly, who does? They will always be one of my favorite bands no matter how popular or unpopular they become. ♥
I don't really care if it gives someone hope, I have a problem if they say 'my parents didn't die of cancer because I prayed'. My dad didn't die of cancer because of good doctors, not because I prayed. I don't even have anything against religious people in general. This just hits a little too close to home.
+amie a they've first made if when the heard an african word, "sankofa", and the meanig of it. You'd have to search to know for sure th meaning, but it's basically: your house catches fire, you run away, then you come back, pick up everything that's good and go away and never looks back this time. It's kind of a life concept, I trully love it and I'm getting it's simbol tattooed
People like me enjoy good bands for their music, but one direction doesnt only rely on music talent, but also their appearence. However, its not their fault, thats what people like. Dont feel bad for talented people, just do your part to support them. I mean you cant force someone to dislike something, and they cant force you either.
I'm sorry that you're dad had cancer, that must've been rough. But you know, it's like I said. If it gives them hope, just leave them be. And if you disagree with it, then just don't say anything.
I can tell that none of them ever ran track. I can also tell that none of them were sprinting in the making of this video. Damn you track making me so judgmental of other people's running styles
We're all kind of like the people in the video, running in search for some answers, I mean don't we all come here to find some comfort and some peace, isn't that why we listen to the fray
im glad that there are still artists who produce songs with actual meaning. dont get me wrong i love one direction and them but they produce songs with no actual meaning
Shoutout to my Mom for playing this music. As a 23 year old black man now, these songs bring me back to a childhood I loved listening to The Fray. I used to get picked on for listening to this in the hood, actually even got in a fight over it back in my younger days. And LMAOO, as a 23 year old, I would do it all over for The Fray🤞🏾
They're not... This one isn't necessarily about suicide. Remember: Art isn't what the artist sees it as, but what the audience sees it as. This could mean suicide, but also running away, letting somebody go, and much more. Also, not all Fray songs are even something close to suicide. I'm not the most religous person alive but i pray to god only when i can't help others, when i'm useless for my friends and family. The feeling you get when you pray gives a bit hope in this hopeless world. Makes you feel better.

The song talks about two sisters. One dies and the other doesn't, The one who survives feel like the blame is on her. It's kind of saying to forget it and keep on living, running, and don't feel like that, because the blame wasn't on her... That's what I think...
I don't think this song is about family members, I always thought it was about two best friends; closer than anything, who always swore they couldn't live without each other. I always imagined it as there was some accident where only one survived, and then the other has to try and find a way to keep living on without them. But I suppose everyone has their own meaning behind it.
My mother died of cancer when i was 7, and a few months ago when i turned 14, my 6 year old baby brother was in a car crash (on my birthday) and is suffering from extreme brain damage. My dad was an alcoholic so my brother and i live with my grandma, but shes sick so we`ll see how long it lasts. by now i should be used to it; but this song helps me cope, and helps me when i have one of those nights where i just want to cry...

"Both of you fell the same day, you don't know why"
That part just breaks people. Its so powerful.

Sorry for ur loss bro

R. I. P. to your brother. Can't imagine losing a sibling. I can also relate to this song to my older sister. Such a beautiful song.
This band is the best thing that's ever happened to me tbh...

One of my best friends is suicidal and depressed and your comment really hits me in the head. Thank you for your sincere advice.
I lost my sister to suicide in 2017. I heard this song before it and felt so connected to it... I wish I would’ve known she was gonna do it. I would’ve stayed by her side
@@Kiahhhhhhhh I’m so sorry *hugs*
The Fray rings my heart like no band
I lost my twin sister in a car accident a little over a year ago and I just found this song and it is beautiful and encourages me so much!!!!!
How you been since the accident it's been 11 years now?❤
How are you doing these days my friend?
i keep seeing stuff about the beatles version being better. it isnt because it's a totally different song with totally different lyrics and a totally different meaning!
The Fray is the best band ever i can always relate to their music😭😀
there's not one song from The Fray that's not beautiful.
If they would make a song called ugly, even that would be beautiful
So true
helios: allow me to introduce myself
absolutely!
So, so inspiring. The Fray always are. This song understands grief but encourages hope; it's simply beautiful xx
this comment 10 years old now.

Why did I get a weird felling in my stomach while watching this??
The Fray never dies
"Run for your life" is the masterpiece of The Fray.

Why The Fray's music is so emotional? Goddamn :(
Please don't stop making music, guys. You guys are the only one I can rely on when I'm sad.
They been stopped making music 6 years ago.😞
@@SimplyyMaryy thats sad everytime i think about them and their music.

To you people, who are unaware of who Louis is: It is Louis Tomlinson of One Direction. This is his favourite band! He's the reason I love this band.

Years later and they are still my favorite band
If I ever had to run for my life, I'd probably die. this song is just another evidence that music is a "must " in our lives
Love the Fray. Just saw them live on Wednesday night. They were amazing!!
Am I the only one who thinks this (SCARS & STORIES) is one of the best albums of THE FRAY's entire career?
the fray nirvana green day the beatles uhm...yah.

I'm a twin this song means a lot
my moms a twim
Boeing787max what’s a twim?
Seventeen years by her side
Broke the same bed
Wore the same clothes and we said
We're sisters with nothing between
If one of us falls
The other will soon be following
Both of you fell the same day
You don't know why
One of you never woke up
And you laid by her down on the floor
Desperate to hear her footsteps again
But this house is on fire
We need to go
Oh, you don't have to go it alone, go it alone
Run for your life my love,
Run and don't give up
With all that you are,
All that you want
I will be close behind
Run for your life
She had a fire inside
And that terrified you
You swore you'd never lose your control
Baby let yourself go
It's part of your height
And I know the hunger inside of you is strong
You can only hold back the river so long
Oh, you don't have to go it alone
Oh, you don't have to go it alone, go it alone
Run for your life my love,
Run and you don't give up
With, all that you are
And all that you want
Run for your life right now
And if you don't know how
Come back a few
Take all that's true
And leave all that's broke behind
Run for your life
Oh, you don't have to go it alone
Go it alone, go it alone,
Run for your life my love
Run and you don't give up
All that you are
All that you want
Run for your life right now
And if you don't know how
Go back a a few
Take all that's true
And leave all that's burnt behind
Just run for your life
Run for your life
I've never watched the video till today - :(
Sometimes it takes more courage to run for your life than stay behind.
there songs always make me cry but in a good way i can take this and relate to their songs
I feel like this should be about two people in love, running away from their problems to be together forever
I love this songc: all of the fray's songs are inspirational and never fail to keep me going;)
I love The Fray because their music is powerful and speaks the truth.
They may not get the recognition they deserve but honestly, who does?
They will always be one of my favorite bands no matter how popular or unpopular they become. ♥

can someone tell me what this song is about TYVM
+amie a they've first made if when the heard an african word, "sankofa", and the meanig of it.
You'd have to search to know for sure th meaning, but it's basically: your house catches fire, you run away, then you come back, pick up everything that's good and go away and never looks back this time. It's kind of a life concept, I trully love it and I'm getting it's simbol tattooed
People like me enjoy good bands for their music, but one direction doesnt only rely on music talent, but also their appearence. However, its not their fault, thats what people like. Dont feel bad for talented people, just do your part to support them. I mean you cant force someone to dislike something, and they cant force you either.
i saw this video on youtubes recommended in a small sized print, and I thought this guy singing was voldemort
Weirdest comment I've seen in a while lol
Michael Fernández thanks I try :)

I'm sorry that you're dad had cancer, that must've been rough. But you know, it's like I said. If it gives them hope, just leave them be. And if you disagree with it, then just don't say anything.
God bless USA
Anyone ever get that feeling where the only thing you can do to feel better is just run away from your life?
I can tell that none of them ever ran track. I can also tell that none of them were sprinting in the making of this video. Damn you track making me so judgmental of other people's running styles

The song talks about two sisters. One dies and the other doesn't, The one who survives feel like the blame is on her. It's kind of saying to forget it and keep on living, running, and don't feel like that, because the blame wasn't on her... That's what I think...

Hello, how are you doing now
604 people doesn't know how to run for their lives
I'm not religious but just incase there is a god out there I will pray for you and your mom.
God give you a life.
Treasure it.
God gave you obstacles.
For you to overcome it.
Reward awaits you.

The Fray are amazing. Lyrics are so deep. Great Band!
Your music saved my life. Period.
I mostly listen to gospel and some hip hop but I try to keep my options open and the Fray is definitely my favorite pop rock/alt whatever band.
The Fray is so much underrated,This band needs more views and more likes :/
oh snap Lex Luthor can sing
What do they mean by run for your life especially with all these people running in the music video. Can some one kindly explain me
It isn't even an insult. It's not even a bad thing at all.
