I don’t like the advice they gave her. Marriages end up in divorce. If I was in her shoes I would do the same thing. Protect my kids. Give them what I have and not the guy who didn’t bring anything. Especially that she mentioned he was not a saver. They give such advices like they don’t know how the world works. Later she will call them and ask for advice on how to get out of debt because of him. And they tell her to go all the way in. No way

First of all, most public sector employees already have low insurance and some of them have more laid back jobs than the private sector. Lots of them make over $100k so what makes them special? I think there are a lot of people who are struggling and are underpaid that are way more deserving! A Walmart employee paying for the student loan of someone who makes $400k is not fair.

They are taking care of their fellow college graduates that have been brainwashed into thinking democracy means killing your baby or taking peoples guns. This is why people who do trade jobs without a degree are so upset because it will be paid through their taxes. Vote accordingly.

to spread out your investments. By putting

I do not agree with the idea that once newly wed you should bail your spouse out if they are not on board with debt free-living. What better way to prove that they are all for debt free living than to pick up the hours and pay down their debt before marriage? Seeing is believing....I did pay off my spouse's debts upon marriage and they went straight back into debt and then filed divorce trying to get more $$$ in spousal support, child support, and 50% of my wealth.... needless to say the courts saw right through that gold-digging.... never again>>prenup or single

George now morphing into JD? I don't think Emma's Dad wanted to keep her as "Daddy's little girl." I think, being an educator, he wanted his daughter in a safe small Christian college with all the craziness going on in colleges in the last decade and likely did not realize how fast Parent Plus Loans can get away from someone who has a limited income. They have to be paid back starting immediately, not like the ones that are delayed until someone is out of college (or drops out.) They are absolutely the worst kind of loan. On the other hand, at least according to Emma's account, she wanted to go to a cheaper college and he made the decision for her. If that's true, it's on him to pay and the son-in-law is really immaterial.

Do NOT financially help a partner or bfriend WITHOUT FIRST making ut clear it is a strictly financial BIZ transaction To Help HIM, and him alone, to gain knowledge and control of HIS finances and HIS stability, and that it is NOT at all related to anything of the heart or other (ie. s..., or other non described gain for you) WHY ? Bc if you
    1. Happen to split up. And you happen to want your "investement back". That will be treated differently, if it is not a gift. Which will be if you do not write up sn agreement to repay. Not it will be a partnership loss, for if either of you want more gain or biz, or taxes etc.
    2. If you happen to marry. You can CHOOSE to keep that as a pre marriage loan, NOT PART OF your marriage, cuz as a single working person you're entitled to commingle or not, what your earned pre- marriage.. consider that your Mama "emergency back up" for if ever single and with kids ... Many men that are financially irresponsible more than 2x ..are a danger to have kids with in this and the last century...that's why many women don't want more than 1 or 2 kids... raising US kids =$$$$$.
