I just wanted to say a few things that may be of interest to your readers. I do my peas exactly like you are doing except I use a deep bottom tray instead of shallow. Come time to bottom water, I put in 4 cups of nutrient water and continue to refresh twice a day. The peas love it and fill that deep bottom tray with roots! After I cut once, I just continue with them under the lights and they grow back again from the same seeds, no need to re-germinate. They will even do it a third time but they are not as crunchy so I only use the first 2 harvests. And thanks for your great videos.
@@longshottv1113 Since the root base is firmly established, the re-growth seems to be about 3 days shorter than the first time around and the yield is just as good. Speckled peas put out a massive root base and will really soak up the water. The biggest problem you will have at this point is mold. Since some of the original seeds didn’t germinate they will be dying off and mold will want to grow. Use your fungicidal solution of choice and spray twice a day for a couple of days and do not try to top water after you start bottom watering. If you have good circulation, right temperature and acceptable humidity, the re-growth will go well. You can re-grow quite a few times, but the third cutting is not as crisp so I don’t try to sell them and I usually stop after the second cutting.
@Derek Bartlett I use Fox Farms hydroponic liquid nutrients 3-2-6. Not necessary for the first cutting since the seeds provide the nutrients, but I always use nutrient solution after that.
@@abecarloto1185 Not at all. I just refresh the water so there is always about 4 cups of water there. That way you are actually growing with the Kratky method. Once they have established a root base they drink a lot of nutrient water.
Trays look so gorgeous! I’m giving green peas a try at home today as my first microgreen grow thanks to your immensely informative and data driven content that you both deliver in a relatable method. ❤

I watched a couple of your videos some time back but for some reason I neglected to subscribe. Your camera man is correct you are adorable. Now I just have to get some trays and peas to get started. Thank you for your help and excellent presentation. Stay blessed! Hallelujah
Great video! Have you ever tried getting a second grow from the peas? When I harvest mine at 10 days, they still have nodes towards the bottom. And if I harvest above those, it gives me a second harvest after another 10 days
Great video Mandy and CJ. I love the way you guys grow pea microgreens 😍 IWe usually crop our microgreens a little shorter than yours because we mix it in our micro-rainbow mix for our customers. That's also why our harvest weight is lower. Overall micro-pea is a great addition to any meal, love them 👍

Thank you so much for the support Francesco Di Nicola!! We are going to be making new content soon! 😄 Speaking restaurant...can't wait to share our new recipes involving Micro Peagreens!!😉
Thanks for making such informative videos. Ive never weighed my sprouts before and while i grow much smaller amounts weighing them down made such a difference in my mung beans.. I am starting a small tray of marrowfat peas later and have my brick all ready. I know marrowfat peas are not as sweet as other types but i really really like the intense *pea* flavor they bring to the stirfry. The flavor really holds up in toasted sesame oil/vinegar salad dressing too. And yes my chickens go bonkers for the root mass in wintee. Lol😊🐔🐓🐤

Nice video! Learnt a lot from you. I did try to grow some peas in a mesh tray. However, some of the peas rot after germination and they seemed to affect the peas nearby. Did you experience similar issues and do you check everyday and remove those are rotten?
Hi! Thanks a lot from europe for all the information you give! What I wonder is, how long after the last watering would be best for harvest, concerning shelf live and crunchyness?

hi, I just noticed that you didn't spray the 3% hydrogen peroxide solution on peas whereas in sunflower seeds you often do it. Is it ok to spray that also here? ty!
Do it! and use them in the new recipes in our first cookbook coming out soon! 😉Love Ritter Would you Be~Leaf we're actively working on tasty recipes that will highlight the various flavors of your favorite microgreens in surprising ways...Not just a garnish...yum!!
Hi there! Thank you for making such detailed videos! I absolutely love them. Can you please tell me what other microgreens can be grown in the mesh bottom trays? And what sort of extra care would they need? I would love to experiment with growing on mesh bottom trays but I haven't really been able to find a lot of information with this method. Any video recommendations or links would be very helpful, thank you!
Hi there! Question for ya - Is there a reason why you use the mesh tray instead of the tray with holes that I have seen you use before? I'm curious if the peas will root okay with out that exact type of mesh tray you're using in the video. Appreciate you guys so much! Thanks again.
Harvested a tray and let it regrow to a full 4 to 5 inches tall TWICE!! Are there any studies regarding the nutritional value declining as they continue to grow like that? Hi guys! Thank you so much for this video, very helpful. I have one question, when you count the days when do you start day 1? Day after sowing or day of sowing?
Thank you for the support!! We refer to the day that we sow the seeds as “Day 0”. The following day will be Day 1 and so on... we use the days as time that has passed since sowing. Hope that makes sense! 🤗🌱🌱
We’ve never noticed it hurting them and we’ve been doing it for a year now! As long as you don’t throw it on them... use something care when placing it, but they are really resilient plants! They are very strong as a group :) 🤗🌱🌱
Do you only use the 1/2 cup Ocean Solution the first time you water or every time? Is that all you use to "water" them or do you also add water when watering?
A question for you. When I spray the pea seeds by the second day I have water accumulating in the bottom tray. I noticed in your pea video you have no water in your tray on the fourth day. Do you dump the water out or am I over watering? I am trying to mimic the amount of water you two spray on your seeds the first 3 days. Also on the fourth day your peas are ready for light my peas don't look like that till day 6 . What am I doing wrong ? Third time in two months at growing pea micro greens and not getting your results but there are results. Thank you keep shooting up :)
It sounds like you could be slightly over-watering, which is no problem at all! Just make sure you pour any excess water out every day during the spray germination phase. Once you move into bottom watering, a little extra water shouldn’t be a problem! Just make sure they are drinking up 95% of the water before adding more! As for the different growth, it really varies for reasoning... sometimes different seed batches grow very differently. It could be the temperature of the room, airflow, or even water source. Adding weight to trap humidity helps also! And in fact, sometimes over-watering can slow down germination! So, it could be one of many things and as you grow more, you’ll start to get the hang of it! You can also send us pictures and describe your full grow process and we can do our best to help you out!
🙂Thank you so much for the question!! It really means a lot to us to be able to help you! Oksana Munro! 🙂We soak the peas before germination and then after harvesting we lightly rinse and store away!!!
Do you find a big difference in the process needed for different varieties of pea microgreens? I'm trying dwarf grey sugar pod peas right now. Do you think I should do anything different from your video?
Hi, thank you for your videos. I really appreciate them and am trying to learn solely from you. I was wondering if the tray needs to have a fan on it during the initial days when the 3rd tray and paver are on top of it or will that make the seeds dry out? Please let me know. Thanks again :)
Yes it will, especially with some of the more vigorously rooted varieties! They will find a way to the water...one of nature's little miracles! bri Have you signed up for our Master Class yet? Please get ready to take advantage of all the information we've assembled for you!!!
Hello. New to your site and videos. I really love your style. Question is the water you use ocean solution what is that ? Also in your opinion what’s the best place to buy seeds ,
Hello! Thank you for watching and supporting us. Ocean solution is a organic hydroponic nutrient that has 90 sea mineral nutrients, That's all it says though. Since they have a sole propriety patent they don't have to list all the ingredients. www.amazon.com/dp/B00NMU48FI/?ref=exp_onthegrowfarms_dp_vv_d www.pntrac.com/t/TUJGRklGSkJHRUhNSEpCRkpIRk1K?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.trueleafmarket.com%2Fcollections%2Fmicrogreens-kits-and-supplies
I am on day 9 of my first tray of speckled peas. No medium. I did put weight on them for 3 days, and put a blackout dome on for 2 days to try to get them to stretch. They have been under the fancy full spectrum 300 w folding light ever since, watering twice per day with nutrients. They look beautiful and green, they smell lovely, and the roots are gorgeous, but the stems seem to be shorter than they should be and I don't have any tendrils on top. Do you think I just need to wait a few more days? Yours are definitely doing better than mine.
Yes I would weight a few more days! Peas tend to be very short for the first few days, then they randomly decide to get taller and start putting out tendrils! Just be sure to taste test them to make sure they aren't getting to woody or bitter and you should be fine 🥳

Thank you so much for the support David Decker!! We are going to be making new content soon! 😄 We also hope to have our own trays available soon!
Thanks for the vids. They are great. Can you tell me if you are using 250 grams of seeds weight dry or wet?
Donny Richard dry weight. They weigh them before they soak them.
Exactly what Belinda said! The only time we weigh the seeds after soaking is if we're seeding multiple trays.
Will using trays with drainage holes work instead of the mesh tray?
Yes it will, especially with some of the more vigorously rooted varieties! They will find a way to the water...one of nature's little miracles! bri Have you signed up for our Master Class yet? Please get ready to take advantage of all the information we've assembled for you!!!
@@OnTheGrow Yay, this was my question as well. You're so darned helpful. Thank you so much.

Is the 250g before or after soaking?
Thank you so much for great video...you are very sweet🌷🌷🌷
