Clearly you have some background and skill as well as proper tools to complete a very nice pigeon coop/aviary. Very nice indeed. As a Minnesota resident I can tell you that sadly most viewers in this neck of the woods liken this project to a very nice ice fishing shack and pigeons are the farthest thing from their minds.. In any case Kudos, nice project. Nice job!!
Thank you very much Adam. I have no background/skills in this type of work at all. But I'm always up for a challenge and making my own things. This project was indeed not a cheap one, lol!
What, no porch light or gutters? That pigeon loft is nicer than my **house**. Seems a bit overkill, but I’m sure your great-grandchildren will appreciate it. Amazing work. 👍
I was impressed, then I saw the house wrap and were even more impressed. The attention to small details is commendable, one small wish was that the bottom of metal siding was even or below the plate and not sit on wood for sheding and keeping water out. Aside from that, I really like this build, great job!
Wow, fantastic job, looks beautiful, I built one 2 years ago and now is too small for my pigeons, need to build a bigger one, I have more pigeons now, greetings from Atlanta, Georgia,USA 😂 ✌
Hey looj, My pigeon loft is smaller than the one you built, I have homer pigeons, I use to have pigeons growing up in Medellin, Colombia south America, now I live in U.S.A. and 6 years ago I went to the bird show here in Atlanta and bought my first pair of Indian fantail pigeons, I mostly have homers, I have a pair of Indian highfliers, a pair of parlor Rollers, 3 pairs of starling pigeons and a pair of capuchine pigeons. ✌
@@hernanruiz7004 that’s very awesome to know man! Sounds like you have a good variety of pigeons on your loft. What size do you plan on building your new loft?
You may not be a pro builder but you worked it out and did well. It looked as if you kept the work space clean and free of scrap which is a big step for maintaining fluid movement and clear focus. You Did well and get a thumbs up and a sub
Looj, great job but have a question. How are you planning on cleaning underneath the metal flooring since I didn’t see you making drawers? Raking it every once in awhile? Thanks
Thank you Erdal. No, I didn't make any drawers and plan to just shovel out whenever necessary. I was thinking of making drawers on wheels that roll under.
It would have taken me several days to a week since I was working by myself and if I had all my materials ready to go. Unfortunately, the store ordered all my custom steel siding in wrong sizes. I had to return and reorder which took almost 2 extra months to get the correct order in. So, it was around 3-4 months to finish.
I probably sound dumb as fuck lol.... why does it have to be off the ground? What if you have a shed on the ground already hahaha I thought I could just cut some windows out here and there. And build shit on the inside. Also this is way to fast paced. I need some guidance.
@@leightyhawke3008 that’s not a dumb question to ask! Whether to build your loft or any building on or off the ground depends on several factors, including its purpose, the climate in your area, and the type of ground it will be on. Building on the ground pros: stability, ease of access, possibly more cost effective. Cons: moisture issues, pests, etc. Building off ground pros: improved drainage, better air circulation (in my case, I have expanded metal for the floor), ease of cleaning (droppings fall through and keeps pigeons cleaner), longevity (less exposed to moisture), etc. Cons: possibly more expensive with building a raised foundation, blocks, pillars/piers, access is a bit less convenient requiring steps and climbing up onto your coop/shed, etc.
@@leightyhawke3008 so there’s absolutely nothing wrong with building/using a shed/coop on the ground. I’ll try to post up videos on how I built my loft in slower segments explaining how it’s done for better guidance.
Nice 👍👍👍👍

Nice work.. But that's not a pigeon loft. The design is far from what a pigeon loft should be.. JMHO.

All that for a few pigeons!?
What a waste of material
