I appreciate my ‘22 not having a slipper clutch just to understand how a bike works without one-it’s my first and only bike so far-but after 26k miles, I can definitely understand why it would be handy!
not only does the Cb300r now have a slipper clutch, they also have an angle-sensitive EMU that will gauge how far you are leaned over when it decides to interject and release the brakes so you do not skid the tire.. so in that same situations, you are in the corner and braking quite hard, it knows to let the tires go a bit more than if you were bolt up-right. I own the 2023 model and I love it.
I think the older models were angle sensitive as well. They've had a really sophisticated ABS setup for a while, but yeah, the new ones got the slipper and it was one of the significant upgrades.
You are right, which makes me wonder if all the reviews and such are wrong about that. I don’t have time at the moment to dig to see what Honda has said elsewhere. They may consider it not worth mentioning on the page, but that seems odd.
@@Remymoto for a brand new rider w zero experience, do you think this bike is still a viable option, even without the slippery clutch? Does it really make that much of a difference ? I think it’s still a great beginner bike.
Absolutely. The slipper clutch is just a modern addition and not nearly as big a deal as ABS or something like that. But, for example, the other day I slid my rear wheel coming to a stop because I was downshifting aggressively and passed over some painted arrows. Now, maybe the slipper wouldn’t have totally prevented that, but it would have helped. I am used to it and mostly prefer not having it, but for a beginner it can only be a help.

New rider here, thanks for the video!
Welcome aboard!
The official Honda motor sports website does not mention a slipper clutch for the 2024 cb 300 r.
