Wow! It is a lot tamer and ambient than I thought it was. Seems like it was indeed very fitting to use it as a campaign theme and not as a town theme. Still an extremely good piece of music nontheless.
Beautiful and masterfully written. But I agree with the decision of the hota team. This music is not suitable for a town screen. The one they wrote instead aligns better with the already existing town themes.
Making it campaign theme and not town theme was a good idea, it doesnt have enough energy

he clearly wanted to take the vibe to the hopi/zuni/nabaho/cavedweller/anasazi vibe which the game too should have, forge seems like it wanted to be cyberpunk but steampunk is considered classier and a bit closer to 1600s pirates so they tweaked it a bit
Considering that the classic Star Wars trilogy is essentially a space WESTERN, I don't see this as a problem.

when the homm modding community manages to get paul romero who wrote the music for homm 2, 3, and 4. to go back and compose a new official song for Homm 3 and then they dont use it lmao.
worst part is the version they replaced his with is mediocre.
I think this version is mediocre, that's why it acts as campaign theme, not the town one.
If only Paul made the same version as in 2020-2021 New Year's...
Yes, but you can still catch a glimpse of this song in the new version. They didn't completely scrap it.
