I always love how these games had animated menu screens. A great thing abandoned for more simplified ones. It really helps to give a feel for the games world and the game itself.

It's actually a pretty depressing scene. Tte visual style of this loop, as well as the game itself is a bit over the top and cartoonish (in a good way), yet we see a battlefield covered in corpses and rubble, the sole burnt tree, the sky in the color of fire, the endless meaningless fight of, probably, the only two survivors of a greater battle that took place here and finally there is this very sad, yet epic music piece playing in the background. All of this gives a very distinct feeling, that a horrible war is taking place, paints a very clear image and sets a darker tone for this otherwise pretty colorful game. This menu screen alone, to my taste, is a masterpiece. I freaking love this game.
@@sergesmikhael3922 I personally find the image of the two last warriors still fighting, despite everyone else being dead, with none of them showing any sign of wanting to give up, determined to keep fighting until the end no matter how tired both clearly are, very powerful and poetic. It's depressing like you said, yet somehow at the same time it pumps me up like watching two boxers giving it all to the very end, all bloody and barely able to throw a punch.
well in fact not eternal. According to the holy books evil did not existed till the fall of Lucifer (so evil is not eternal as it is God) and also evil will sometime be defeated(apocypse) so the fight will be not eternal! 😊🙏🙏
This game will forever be in one of my most interestingly designed games, the units are all made so well. They're fantasy but not trying to overdo it, you imagine a fantasy creature and this game has exactly what you imagine.

Well I'd say that because of the drama this fits better like I know it would probably be LOOKING better if an Arch-Angel would fight an Arch-Demon but what we see here is rather about heroism the fight till the last man and if I see it well we even have a cross in the background showing that an angel must have fell as well as most of the demons with now leaving a plain simple man broken bruised and beaten yet he still fights against the might of a beast that have annihilated his entire army it feels rather dramatic if you see it this way and the thing is that THIS GUY this 1 man however bruised and beaten he may be he still holds himself up quite well against this beast A good opening to a really underrated underestimated good game
The point of that menu is only known in retrospect. You KNOW that inquisitor will lose. It's inevitable, and yet, he stands against the living avatar of Urgash; of Chaos. It's grimdark. It sets the tone of the Ashan universe.
I remember sitting before the computer, and just watching the main menu. What a time it was.
Me too, and I also adored the city of Haven... I'm still getting high from music in the 5th part.
It's the only game I ever played that made me just religiously watch the main menu screen while listening to the amazing soundtrack. Nostalgia.
