Every video manages to astound me with what is essentially cinematic quality and sound. Bravo guys. I am truly impressed. Some of the best car videos ever made.
am i the only one who found the title misleading? was waiting for the connection to Seat (the car manufacturer). great video but i think that goes without saying :D
Jonas Kilian Exactly! I thought the video features the first Seat (car manufacturer) which is a peerless (unique) Grand Tourer. Even though the car is very far away from every Seat ever produced...
Bravo Petrolicous .. Your cinematography just keeps getting better and better. I anticipate each video. This is hands down the best automotive channel on TH-cam.
We Love Orphan cars! ♥ My 23 y.o. Daughter is a Car Nut like me, fortunately my Son was born with different interests. Her first car was a 1957 Pontiac, then a vintage Diesel Mercedes, then a Supra.
What a beauty, and what a lucky guy to have a Dad that would buy car like that, restore it, and let him race it. Everyone whos Dad loves racing, should go race with their Dad. You dont need as beautiful of a car as this one. My Dad has fond memories of racing minis with his Uncle, and one day we will be at the historic races with a mini!
As a designer myself, I must extend a hearty "bravo" to whoever does your graphics. A sweet job, for sure, but one that's well done. Bravo or Brava to you.
Your video skills get better and better. One of my all time favourite channels. Outstanding scenes, camera work, and editing. The car is fabulous as well. I love your work. Please keep it up.
Thank you Petrolicious, the way you craft these stories is unparalleled. A feast for our senses both audibly and visually, with stories of passion and love. If they gave awards for Web based short stories and films, you'd all be a sure bet to win Gold.
Seeing unique automobiles like the Peerless, on the historic racing circuit, is a real treat. The use of Jaguar and Triumph parts is very cool. Thank you for sharing this story.
Almost purchased a red one...a long time ago. Space frame chassis, GRP body, fuel tanks in the sills, A very rare car in the UK but almost Unicorn like in the US.
Really nice story backed by some beautiful camerawork and scenery. Thank you for sharing it with us. My dad was never a car guy but, when I started to appreciate cars as more than A to B, I got him to work with me sometimes which was nice. As soon as I have something more entertaining than my Accord I'll hope to make even more memories.
First thought it was a Talisman Torpedo, then realized it's a Peerless, one of my all time favourites!! There were a few cars fitted with the Rover v8, called the 305 GTs... I'm aching for one, but as soon as they come up for sale they're already gone... Rarer than rare, great job Petrolicious!!
The 356A-356C was prettier! Feld Grau 1965 ATE disk brakes 5 speed Woke me up each morning, 1966-7 5 gears thru the swamp, after a warmup. Welder neighbor and son,a Cadillac Porsche mechanic, Tampa, built their own Burscht stinger exhaust... 136 hp! A red one was raced by Dr. Harold Williamson Datona and Sebring, then he got a 911T to 10th OA Daytona 1967... 1st in U-2 Touring behind a 911S from Brumos..but could still be driven on the highway..I was a lucky kid... still AM!
The Peerless was reincarnated as the Warwick 350GT. The engine was the Buick aluminum V8. I pitted for the owner of one who raced it on the east coast in the early 60s. Good times.
Love the video. BTW, I seem to remember these had their fuel tanks located in the sills, next to the driver/passenger. I hope this car has had a fuel cell located somewhere safer.
Yes, it has two fuel tanks in the driver and passenger door sills, with a switch on the dash to switch between which tank you want to use. The car now uses a racing fuel cell in the trunk... which is required for racing.
I used to see the (very) occasional Peerless when I was growing up in Ireland and the UK. I don't remember any that had the fit and finish of this one!
Beautiful vids Petrolicious...always impressed!! For the folks commenting on the SEAT reference not pointing to the manufacturer, please review the opening sequence again. The word "THE" is all caps as well as "SEAT". Since both are capitalized the title is obviously referring to seat, but hey, who cares any way, it's a great vid about a great car. I don't have personal knowledge of pricing on these cars, but a quick search on Hemmings or Bring a Trailer will produce projects in the teens and drivers above that. Really nice finds can push into the $30K range and up.Rare? Yes. Some Triumph mechanicals and chassis utilization on these Peerless vehicles, so I would think outside of the fiberglass bodies, restoration shouldn't be too bad. I've had my son under a car - anything - since he was 2...turning wrenches and going to shows, races, etc. I'm no "rich guy". I'm happy to say at 18 yrs old, my son wants to spend time w/me turning wrenches and we are looking to go race each other when he grads from college...NICE!!For the trolls starting arguments about which car is better or whatever, save it. If you watch their videos, Petrolicious does not cater to only rare and expensive cars and their owners. They film stories about car people and their rides...ANY person with an interesting ride and a great story. They've got 240Zs ($$) to P4 Ferraris ($$$$$$$$$$$$+).Dads, go turn some wrenches w/your kiddos...definitely will not regret those memories and experiences!!
Hi Paul, Top video, beautiful finish to your Peerless, perfect. My friend and I are restoring a Phase 1 Peerless GT which we also hope to race. We were wondering what you finished the interior with? It looks like it's painted of "flow coated" onto the fibreglass. It looks really good. Do you have any other projects on the go Thanks Steve (UK)
Thanks, Stephen Patten! My dad restored the car, and he used regular PPG car paint to paint the interior... it is a light glossy grey color. I just shared an interior shot with you on Google+. If you need any advice you can e-mail me, and I will pass it along to my dad. You can see some of my race footage in this car on my TH-cam channel as well. Good luck with the restoration! I just bought a 240Z this past September that is keeping me busy at the moment.
I like this little car, would be nice with a 340 Sixpack or 302DZ. Would also like to see this guys 1959 Corvette (only good Corvettes where from 50's until 1967)
Not familiar with the Peerless brand, but I'm guessing the reason it's a bit portly is because of body on frame construction? 2400+lb for such a small car is quite a bit of weight.
That car looks fantastic! Love the body styling! Anyone know what kind/brand of hood latches those are? Original OEM? They look great, very art deco style with the covers. I'd like some for my Datsun 510 wagon!
I'm from a car family but my passion goes beyond that of my dad I think, not sure about my grandpa though but it's too late to ask him. However I'm the only one who currently seems interested in racing, like actually racing a car, or even going to races. My dad is content just to watch them on TV I guess.
That engine is prefect, you guys never fail to make my day with your videos! Thank you And what kind of kid wouldn't want to take a free race car on a track? Idiots
Wouldn't they have capitalized it? Like SEAT?
Jonas Kilian Exactly! I thought the video features the first Seat (car manufacturer) which is a peerless (unique) Grand Tourer.
Even though the car is very far away from every Seat ever produced...
yes
Beautiful cinematography
These are really cool cars, and that Triumph engine sounds INCREDIBLE!!! So growly...

Beautiful sound
Please keep these Vintage Car reviews coming. Absolutely sensational. Best on the Net.

Fabulous car nobody has ever heard of and wont see again. What a looker.

Splendid piece of automotive history.
Connoisseurs ~
I think this might just be the best car channel production wise.
Really nice story backed by some beautiful camerawork and scenery. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Great father son story. My son is three months old and I'm hopefully that he'll share my passion
Thanks Paul for sharing your story, and being patient with some of the commenters.
I thought you were talking about the first Seat (the car maker) and I was like HELL YEA, but that's not gonna happen in SoCal hehe.
Those shots are AMAZING!!!! Perfection!
You guys should def do some more classic Japanese cars
Datsun FairLady 2000 roadster! As per BRE....
Lovely Short Film !!!
I saw a pretty rough example of one in a service station in Britain very recently. Very lovely cars.
can't even imagine how beautifully that drives...
2187lbs is most likely the dry weight. Put in oil, gas and washer fluids and add a roll cage and a spare tire. The you're up to 2400lbs easily
First thought it was a Talisman Torpedo, then realized it's a Peerless, one of my all time favourites!!
There were a few cars fitted with the Rover v8, called the 305 GTs...
I'm aching for one, but as soon as they come up for sale they're already gone...
Rarer than rare, great job Petrolicious!!
nice to see such enthousiasm for old rare British racing machines
Cars like this should be used. Every time I see a car like it on the road I smile.

Just wow! Its awesome, thanks for sharing.

Loved it. Would love to see some race footage as well.
P.s. I hope you're gonna do a feature on his Corvette too!
great looking car and the color goes great with it
Beautiful, elegant car.
That engine sounds great for such a tiny 4 banger. Great looking car too!
What a sweet car! Such a shame that it had such a short run.
Awesome dude I wish I could race cars with my dad.
Love those hood locks
Beautiful car, would like to see more of it!

I enjoyed that.
Well done.
Really impressive.
What an interesting car. I'm ashamed to say I'd never even heard of the marque. A lovely film and back story.
Beautiful car. Abrupt ending.
What a great car!
Another great video

Please do more classic mercedes! Fintails, gullwing, etc. Thanks
What a beautiful video! wow
Car like this have a soul .you can interact with it .unlike modern cars auto shift and comfort .
Beautiful car. And I swear this was filmed up by me. Area and roads look familiar.
It was shot at Pine Mountain Club and Mt Pinos area in California.
Paul Cressey Ahh ok, thanks. Its a ways south, but very similar environment.
Love the video. BTW, I seem to remember these had their fuel tanks located in the sills, next to the driver/passenger. I hope this car has had a fuel cell located somewhere safer.

Nice sound..
1.18secs. Love the indicator switch above the horn button.
Hello,Petro ?Are you on vacation?
Wow, any chance of you being at all interested in adopting a 45 year old, car-loving 'boy'? Beautiful car! Thanks for sharing.
This makes me want to hold onto my stock 97' Miata for 20 years. It's at 24k miles now, so lets hope so ;-P
Nice British car. Good video. What is the body made of ? It looks a bit like GRP. Cheers Rob
Indeed it is... or as we more commonly call it in the states, fiberglass.
Anyone who disliked this video will never understand what a classic car is.
Nice change-up, Petro.
Lovely looking car. Has quite a bit of Aston Martin to it
Hi Paul,

Maybe not the fastest but sounds great!
These are very good vids, they could be longer though. Please sir, may I have more?
It looks like an Aston martin db5 beautiful
I like this little car, would be nice with a 340 Sixpack or 302DZ. Would also like to see this guys 1959 Corvette (only good Corvettes where from 50's until 1967)
Sooooo uhhhh... I'm in love... That is all haha. Sweet car. Hope that I find one some day
These films are so romantic ever one of them are srunning
Your Director of Photography should try to do a real Movie asap!
Man those are stunnign Shots!
WE NEED NEW VIDEOS! :P
Not familiar with the Peerless brand, but I'm guessing the reason it's a bit portly is because of body on frame construction? 2400+lb for such a small car is quite a bit of weight.
I love this channel. Pure automotive pornography
which camera do you use ? amazing images man !
They shot with Canon 5D's on this shoot, and the aerial was GoPro and DJI Phantom.
Paul Cressey Great stuff, Paul. Keep it coming.
Paul Cressey Thanks for the info, but for curiosity, how do you know?
coscorrodrift I am the one behind the wheel in the video. ;o)
Paul Cressey OMG I dind't remember sorry hehe my bad :P
That car looks fantastic! Love the body styling!
Anyone know what kind/brand of hood latches those are? Original OEM? They look great, very art deco style with the covers. I'd like some for my Datsun 510 wagon!
Those are original hood latches, from factory.
Dzus fasteners?
Does the peerless gt have a fiberglass body? Also, i love the little fins on the back of this car!
Yes, it is a fiberglass body on a square tube frame chassis.
Love the story
I'm from a car family but my passion goes beyond that of my dad I think, not sure about my grandpa though but it's too late to ask him. However I'm the only one who currently seems interested in racing, like actually racing a car, or even going to races. My dad is content just to watch them on TV I guess.
Peerless, never heard of that brand, but what a nice car. Very basic but i like it a lot.
Good story about a rich kid with rich parents and rich friends who didn't get into cars like he did.
Indeed you are correct... rich with a passion for cars; not so much monetarily.
I'm sorry but a average peerless GT sells for $20,000. That is 2/3rds the price of a average new car.
if you were rich, what would you do?
You can find them find around $10k to $20k unrestored. They are not well known so there isn't a big market.
Houng Choi Sometimes it's more about the hype then the rarity. Take the BMW E30 for example...
Cool car
when will we see some more of these tasty auto treats?
That engine is prefect, you guys never fail to make my day with your videos! Thank you
And what kind of kid wouldn't want to take a free race car on a track? Idiots
Amazing \o/
it looks like Aston Martin DB4 GT. is it something general between that Peerless GT and Aston?
Did he even consider, the weight listed in the brochure, was in "Imperial Pounds," rather than "American Pounds"?
Beautiful :0D
Very rare car
The stuff that dreams are made of.
Do a episode about the first mr2s
When is the next new video coming? It's been a while.
i wish the people telling the stories gave more specs about the cars they own.
I've been up on that mountain before
