Much to my partners annoyance I'd of redone it too, it would of niggled away at me each time I looked at it otherwise👍. It's looking brill, perfect choice of ceiling colour too. I thought the process of the knotting solution on both walls and ceiling was really interesting and not something I'd thought of, a great realistic review. Keep up the good work ✌
Exactly! We’d have been upset every time we saw it too 😂 The knotting solution is something we knew nothing about really but probably a worthwhile step, certainly for painted wood 👍
Thanks very much! We can’t agree though, there are lots of build series we’re sure are better than ours - Greg Virgoe springs to mind straight away 😅 that guy’s a van build authority. But we’re so glad you’re finding our vids useful. Have you chosen what van you’ll be doing yet? That’s really exciting and great that you’re planning in advance 👍
I love how you two are perfectionist and yet you hate that your perfectionist. lol me and my husband are the same way. Loving it but regretting it at the same time. haha. Loved the video this week. Looking forward to next week!
Another great video guys. Those 'mock' tiles look amazing, could you share where you got them please, one for my 'great look' list for my van when I get to that stage. Take care and stay safe guys xx
Thankyou! We really weren't sure at first about the tiles, but absolutely loved them as soon as we stuck them on & are so glad that we chose them over normal tiling. Here's the link to the tiles: amzn.to/3fhiQiY - we've just popped it in the description too. How did your husband get on with his operation? And did you get any further with the electrics? Take care ☺️
Great series of videos which have been really helpful to me, thank you! I am just about to build shower cubicle and wrestling with which thickness of ply to use in order to keep the weight down. Can you share what thickness of ply and reinforcement framework you used?
It all looks great. We are just starting a build. We only picked up our van a week ago. I was trying to look carefully at how exactly you covered your sliding door and door surround. We are trying to puzzle out how we will do that. Your clips were just a little too fast to see clearly. If you have time, it would be great to know how you did it. We really enjoy your videos. Thanks.
Hi! That’s really exciting you’ve just picked your van up 😀 Yeah we didn’t put a lot of detail into the carpeting part of the vid, which is what we’re assuming you’re referring to here. On the back door surround we did it in 3 pieces, one acros the top and two down the side, cut on a diagonal in the corners if that makes sense. Then for the sliding door we cut a large rectangle, glued it on around the window then cut out a hole in the middle where the window is. With regards technique, we just took a very long time to make sure it was all stretched properly. We also redid a few parts to get it perfect - you can pull it off when you’ve made a mistake if you’re quick! And we used trim fix to glue it as it’s resistant to really high temps 👍 Hope this answers your question but if you have any more specific details you’d like to know about please feel free to ask away 😊
I have watched loads of van build videos, often there is a comment when they have pre-painted cladding, that there is an issues with the paint effecting the tongue & grove, making it difficult to slot them together. Did you have that issue,
On the flip side if you paint it when in situ, if (more like when!) the wood expands and contracts it'll not only show a crack in the paint on the join between the two pieces but could even show unpainted areas on the tongs where they could not be reached before (Never built a van before but had painted projects and wood expansion issues before!)
Hi guys, living the build series, just wondering if you could reply to this with a link for the reading lights. Haven’t started a build yet but trying to make a shopping list of as many things I’m going to need as possible. Thanks!
Hi there, glad you’re enjoying it! Sounds like you’re a lot more organised than us 😅 We put links to pretty much all of the stuff in our van in the descriptions so you will find them and everything else down there, but for ease here’s the reading lights - amzn.to/3jOthwk
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing thanks, I’m still quite a way off from buying the van, quite a financial commitment but stating to plan things and get stuff in place! Again thanks a lot!
Definitely the best way to do things, we wish we’d had the time to plan! You’re absolutely right on the finances, these vans become like a bottomless pit 😂
Would you have redone that cladding in the corner or just said balls to it?

Think I’d have done the same as you guys and redone it, otherwise it would have just bugged me forever. Looked much better redone 👌😁
This is by far the best quality and attention to detail build on TH-cam! Making many notes for when I do my van in 6 months time!

Ha ha! Yeah it's a blessing and a curse! That's so funny that you guys are the same. Glad you enjoyed the video 😀
Looking very good , Guys well done.
Thank you! 😀
Your vans coming along brilliantly well done guys.
Thank you 😊
Awesome job guys 👍🏻
Thank you! 😀
Looking good guys looking real good 👍
Thank you ☺️ But Rob, that’s an actual thumbs up emoji thingy!
Nice job you guys! You work well together… like watching your team work
Thank you! Not gonna lie, we definitely had our moments when we didn’t work well together at all 😅 But it’s to be expected doing a project like this 😆

Hi what edging strips did you use, and how did you attach them? Thanks for the video, it looks really good!

What thickness plywood did you use for the walls? And is it working well? Do your walls feel supported when you lean on the cladding?

Excelente trabajo enhorabuena.
Muchas gracias! ☺️

Yeah, but only on a few where we hadn’t noticed a paint drip. In general, with just a little tap they went in easily enough 👍🏾
On the flip side if you paint it when in situ, if (more like when!) the wood expands and contracts it'll not only show a crack in the paint on the join between the two pieces but could even show unpainted areas on the tongs where they could not be reached before

That’s so true! We actually have that on a small section in our seating area where we painted it after & it’s done exactly that.
