I use Yamalube 2R in my 2021 YZ125 at 30:1 just like the manual says, it runs fine and isn’t rich or lean at all, runs perfect, Yamahas are jetted perfect from the factory.
Hey in the future if you're spooging a lot that's because your jetting is too rich (Typically pilot or needle). With good jetting, you could run 20:1 and never see any spooge. Try not to change the mix ratio as that could actually cause the bike to run richer. Typically warmer weather requires leaner settings and same goes with higher altitude. Colder, and close to sea level requires you to go richer.
Beautiful bike brother. Your right about the cable clutch on the yz125x. It’s amazing. Feels better than the hydraulics imo although the clutch assembly isn’t quite as tough as the ktm’s, but the yz clutch feel and engagement is better IMO
I have the same bike and I had to take the carb off and move the e clip up a notch because it was running very rich and began to bog as the weather got warmer
If you fouled plugs using the yamalube that’s good to know. I’ll stop using that now. I thought I had to switch back from castor 927 because that’s what was suggested
Very nice bike, I give mine a wd40 bath after I dry it, just don’t get it on your brakes& rotors. All yz’s plastic scratches real easy from boots, get use to it,we love our yz to it’s awesome.
Nice review. I just picked up a new '23 and incidentally, found the same Black Widow hitch carrier on Craigslist for a steal. How do you like yours? I haven't used mine yet. I haven't even kicked my bike over as I'm waiting on my service manual to arrive.
I have not tested the yamalube oil but i guess its like all the other oils. When i did ride 125yz many years ago i go for Castrol A747 2% at summer and Castrol tts 2% (can be bought in bulk cheap) at Winter cause the 747 did not work when below freezing point. One thing is important when setting up a new bike it is to check if its lean or rich and when correct you should be able to go with a crapy cheap oil and still dont wear the plugs. the plugs do not wear because of the oil its the rich or lean ratio warm or cold that wear them out and if the gas is bad. I can guide you true the process of jetting the bike correct if anyone like it? Sorry for bad English i am from Sweden =)
Seat stays grippy with using that upholstery cleaner? Also I’m on my second 250x and had numerous YZ s in the past 30 years, always go to 42/1 after break in.

How do you clean your sprockets? I got a lot of black stains on mine of course from the chain but I don’t know how to efficiently clean the oil off of them.
hey does anyone know at how many hours until you have to rebuild the bike i’m new to 2 strokes and before buying one i want to know how many hours u can ride before rebuilding the top end
I just bought one - I’m picking it up in a few days. Official Honda/Yamaha dealer ship in Long Island city- I wanted to ask you , cause I am not the greatest rider- but do you believe this bike going to be worth a lot in the future? Being that the 2-strokes ( NEW ) being extinct, via factory.... what is the best ratio you recommend? Thank you for the awesome vid. I couldn’t hear you when you said how you mix the oil
36:1 don’t use the yamalube because it’s to thick and sploogy I use Ams Oil dominator and I do think the bike might be worth some more in the future being that you can really find any yz125x right now so one in good condition could sell for more than sticker price
@@in7el11 I watched a Japanese video last weekend interviewing Yamaha engineers they are going to keep making 2 stroke YZs for the foreseeable future. I hope they mean it.

it all depends what elevation you're at.
All my yz manuals always said 32:1. Only had 250s though
Sounds good but I beleive the manual says 32:1
I second Volcom. 30:1 yamalube and she runs great. Anything different and she will not run like the factory planned
The manual for my '23 YZ125X says 30:1 with 2R. Why mess with success?

Bruh i got one and first day alr got up to balance point in a wheelie. If you got throttle control you'll be fine on it
“Brake control” you mean
But you don’t lean it out by changing the ratio. You mess with the jets and the needle clip. You will toast your top end if you play with it

there not going to be worth more as long as yamaha keeps making them, once you drive it off the lot, you won’t get back what you paid.

What chain oil do you use?
it need eletric star
Less oil makes the bike more rich. Better learn up on 2 strokes.
