Can the "Service Air Bag" light be reset in a similar way, for my 2003 Chevy Silverado?
No I don't believe so and most times with the air bag light there is an actually problem with the system. You could try undoing the battery give it 5 min and then reconnecting and the air bag system should do a recheck. But I am pretty sure the light will come back on.

If You want to do the same thing in a german car You need to buy an expensive diagnostic software, connect an OBD device to a laptop and perform various operations in several menues. That's why I like US-Trucks. Always remember: If You want to keep it working, keep it simple.

Yes it's still very hard to get good American verhicle for a fair price in Germany. The offers are rare and the prices are often too high. There is still no official dealership network for the Big Three when You want to buy a truck. DODGE has withdrawn a few years ago and Chevrolet sold badge engineered Koreean Deawoos. The only real American vehicle is You can buy from an offical dealer is the new Ford Mustang. Beside there are some inofficial importers who do raise the price e.g. for a new RAM up to almost 100 k Dollar. I know this might sound unbelievelabe for Your. oil gauge is reading zero, and chime keeps going off and is driving me crazy, is there a way to turn off the chime or maybe even reset the gauge?
That's your oil pressure it maybe the sending unit that lets the gauge know what your oil pressure is if it's not that you have a big problem

How about shutting it off and clearing level of oil life after changing oil and filter on a 2002 Oldsmobile bravada SUV Please tell me how to do this. Its still reading oil life 57 %
Geneva Eriksen Turn the key to the run position but you do not start the engine. Then quickly depress the gas pedal all the way to the floor three times and that should reset the oil life to 100% or With the Driver Information Center (DIC):1. Press the fuel information button until ENGINE OIL LIFE appears in the display.
2. To reset the monitor, press and hold the select button while ENGINE OIL LIFE is displayed.

trucks oil pressure isn't low, bc I changed it, but the alarm chime will not stop ringing, please help...
+John Puryear If the gauge and the chime are going off there is a problem.. Even if it is fully of oil. Chevy's have a known problem with there oil pumps.. One problem is the o-ring on the pick up tube deteriorates and causes the pump to stuck air which will cause no oil pressure and the chime to go off. The 2nd and most common problem is the oil pressure relieve valve will stick in the open position letting the oil/ pressure return to the inlet side of the pump and just circulate within the pump and not make it to the engine.
Does the check engine light come on when it needs oil change ?
I don't believe the check engine light comes on when it needs an oil change as it has its own oil life light.

May be a dumb question but Do you know how to reset the fuel filter light as well ?
cole dunn You will need to turn the key on scroll though your information center using the "i" button to the left of the dash or on your steering wheel until you get to fuel filter and then press and hold the check or reset button.
