Mick Foley is the man when it comes to putting over people and shooting them to superstardom. Mick Foley made Triple H a star with their street fight at RR 2000. He made Orton a star with their match and definitely helped boost edge’s career!
@@SpadezSoRandom It was the I Quit Match at the Royal Rumble that solidified Rock as a badass. The Empty Arena Match solidified Rock as one of the best ad-lib guys in the company’s history.
I think that was the match that made Edge a true main event material. Altought he won WWE title before, i felt like he wasn't ready to be a top guy. But his match with Foley changed everything.
True. Foley also turned randy Orton into main event material as well after their hardcore match at backlash 04. Both hardcore matches made edge and Orton more serious
Edges 1st run was 14 days and tbh it was good like his match with Flair is a hidden gem and the sex celebration was a very high viewing segment. His 2nd run was definitely better but if RVD didn't get busted would he of got it at the time or at all.
Triple H also credited his status as main event staple in their Hell in a Cell Match.... He was made by Mick in that match too. They used Foley in a lot of these high risk, high reward matches to give credibility to their --at the time-- fringe main event guys. And when he puts them over, they leave in a blood bath... But looking like a million bucks when it's said and done.

What always freaks me out is the post-match walk off from Edge and Lita. Edge is literally shaking with his face covered in blood with his flesh smoking. Shit's crazy.
Randy Orton really made Foley look good at Backlash 2004 as well. Randy barely got a good hit in the entire match....... What always freaks me out is watching Foley run into the ringsteps at full speed and smash his knees into them, hurling himself through and over. I cringe every time for the damage he was doing to himself.
The spot other than the flaming table that had me on edge (no pun intended) was when foley raked the barbed wire bat on edge’s face and had him screaming for his life as a kid watching that at the time was gruesome!
Edge is that guy I hated as a kid but now as an adult with more knowledge on how wrestling works I truly appreciate everything he's done for the business. The whole Money In The Bank idea he had is genius. To the point that it's its own PPV now. His match with Foley definitely stole the show that year because I remember it like it was yesterday. And of course he's had a lot of memorable feud with the Dudley's and Team Xtreme, Matt Hardy over Lita, Cena, DX vs Rated RKO, even his angle where he was playing Vicky Guerrero was quality entertainment at the time. And of course let's not forget the live sex celebration. Edge was an entertainment machine. Still is too, love seeing him back. Any hardcore fans will tell you how much we missed him. There's only one Rated R Suuuuuperstar, Edge. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
That's the crazy part about hardcore wrestling. Despite all the actual pain the wrestlers put each other through, at the end of the match it's all hugs and kisses. These kinds of wrestlers do it for the fans and love of the art.

Its crazy how many people Mick elevated to that next level. Triple H with the street fight and subsequent hell in a cell. The Rock with the empty arena brawl and the I Quit match. Randy Orton at Backlash in the Hardcore match. Edge at Mania again Hardcore match.

I was always upset that Edge never had a real championship title run. He always seemed to win by cheating or taking advantage of downed opponents. Sure, he won the World Heavyweight Championship. But that was always a second rate championship compared to the actual WWE Championship.
Its weird because whichever World Title was used on Raw, they would treat it like the top tier #1 title in the company and usually yes it was the wwe title. But I remember wrestlemania 20 and 21 it seemed like the world heavyweight championship was the #1 because it was on raw and it main evented wreetlemanias. Still even at wreetlemania 34 it was treated the same.
Edge, it's amazing to see you doing so well man! I'm always reminded of the days of Sweet Daddy Siki and Ron Hutchinson when I catch a glimpse of you. I hope you haven't had to endure any more spin outs on any highways going to gigs!!! ;-)
The thing about it is that you can tell that edge really loves this shit. Every time he has spoken about wrestling outside of the WWE his face lights up. Thats why I respect people like him more than ppl like a Brock who is only in it for financial gain. Passion will always Win with the audience.
I feel like it's forgotten because (at least in my opinion) it was the starting point of hating Cena and his mega push. That feel like a pin point moment where once Cena won, the turn and rejection towards him began to rise. Not to mention, that WM had a fair amount of big moments/matches before Cena/HHH. You had Rey Mysterio with the better story/moment of the night in terms of the World Title scene. You had Shawn Michaels in a fun No Holds Barred against Vince and getting fans to go wild when he did the DX sign. Then of course, Edge/Foley. I just thinks fans were burned out by the time the main event happened.
i don't know but i always loved Edge's style as heel or good guy (well half good guy) even now how he tells these things YOU LIVE IT WITH HIM, like you actually going through it together with him!
Punk vs Cena for the WWE Title supposed to be at Wrestlemania 27 instead of that stupid match with Miz. Cena vs Edge supposed to be at Wrestlemania 25.
Watching this match as an adult is legitimately disturbing at points near the end. Edge had no layers on, he was completely uncovered on his top half. Mick had plenty of layers on, so while I’m sure it sucked to go through that table, he had it a lot easier than Edge. Edge looked completely out of it and in shock. Blood streaming down his face and into his eye while Lita legitimately looks like she’s trying to hurry Edge to the back. It’s hard to look at. 10/10 match. One of the best I’ve ever seen. First time I saw it was as a 6 year old kid.
I feel sick for not fully appreciating edge as a teenager. I loathed him. But looking back- match quality, character work and fan investment. 1 of the best ever
I remembered being at college the day after edge cashed in money in the bank at New Year's Revolution 2006 and seeing the picture of edge holding the wwe title while I was on my lunch break i was like wtf?, mind you I was a cena fan back then now not anymore, but on the contrary I was shocked to see edge as wwe champion as I grew up watching his matches since the attitude era.

@@B3Band that's rich coming from a guy not even half way to having ads on his "content" 😂 that's a given my dude lmao and on top of that, it's not even me that's said that multiple times, it's other TH-camrs lol leave it to some random dumbass to assume I'm saying this based off of experience instead of what has been said 😂😂😂 and haven't you noticed this is an old comment, meaning they update things constantly and it could've changed, then again, we have a guy who isn't even a well known channel himself, so goes to show what he knows 😂😂
I was always upset that Edge never had a real championship title run. He always seemed to win by cheating or taking advantage of downed opponents.
Sure, he won the World Heavyweight Championship. But that was always a second rate championship compared to the actual WWE Championship.
Thats why he was called the ultimate opportunist
Wow, it’s almost like that’s his heel champions are meant to act so that their downfall will be that much sweeter. Idiot
Entertaining Chats It’s really not that serious
Hopefully his current run gives him a more proper title run
Its weird because whichever World Title was used on Raw, they would treat it like the top tier #1 title in the company and usually yes it was the wwe title. But I remember wrestlemania 20 and 21 it seemed like the world heavyweight championship was the #1 because it was on raw and it main evented wreetlemanias. Still even at wreetlemania 34 it was treated the same.
Edge, it's amazing to see you doing so well man! I'm always reminded of the days of Sweet Daddy Siki and Ron Hutchinson when I catch a glimpse of you. I hope you haven't had to endure any more spin outs on any highways going to gigs!!! ;-)
I can’t stop looking at the women asleep in the front row when the camera’s on edge 😂
The thing about it is that you can tell that edge really loves this shit. Every time he has spoken about wrestling outside of the WWE his face lights up. Thats why I respect people like him more than ppl like a Brock who is only in it for financial gain. Passion will always Win with the audience.
fantastic clip Kenny. Great question
Cena and Triple H was a classic. I think people just forget about it because it didn’t have many spots and it ended in submission. Just my opinion.
The main thing I remember about that match was how it was the audience truly hating cena and cheering for whatever heel he was up against
You got nothing from that match that you couldn't get from those guys wresting anyone else. Their styles are too similar and not in a good way.
i don't know but i always loved Edge's style as heel or good guy (well half good guy) even now how he tells these things YOU LIVE IT WITH HIM, like you actually going through it together with him!
Edge is by far my favorite Heel of all time.
This, and the Eric and Randy Savage video just made me a subscriber !
When edge talks wrestling it’s pure poetry
One of the best matches I’ve ever seen
Everybody needs to remember Edge's old school so all those old school matches were crazy and exciting
Edge needs to be respected more
Edge still the greatest
When i was a kid edge was never my favourite.
...god i wish i could go bk in time...the guys amazing
That lady in the back is out cold
CENA SHOULD HAVE HAD MANIA MACHES AGAINST
EDGE - WrestleMania 22
PUNK - WrestleMania 29
but we got Edge / Foley and Taker / Punk
Punk vs Cena for the WWE Title supposed to be at Wrestlemania 27 instead of that stupid match with Miz.
Cena vs Edge supposed to be at Wrestlemania 25.
@@enzomontaruli8554 Correction: at Wrestlemania 27 we got Rock & Cena (feat. Miz)
No regrets though. Those 2 matches were great.
Rock vs punk would've been worth watching
This was the match that made Edge become my favourite wrestler of all time, equaled with Mick Foley
edge is a good storyteller, man could read audiobooks or something like that :)
Without charismatic heel Edge, there was no Cena.
In fact, Edge heel saved Cena.
Edge makes for a great Stand-Up Comedian! If he ever considered a career change.
I met Edge / Adam in Australia 👍🇦🇺❤️
Love how these clips are being fed on a drip lol
Being 6 years old and at Wrestlemania 22 and then miss the ENTIRE hardcore match because you’re waiting in line for nachos..........
HuTTon _27 damn
Why lol
You are there for an event not food
To be fair, that match wasn't meant for the eyes of a 6 year old anyway.
Hard to believe he’s almost 50. He looks great
mick foley & edge...a better love story than twilight
That was great. I'll never forget watching that.
After going through the comments and not seeing anyone mention it yet, is that woman at 5:01falling asleep lol? Look right above Edge's shoe.
When the camera focuses on edge look in the back theres a girl like passed out fading like on drugs or something lol
Looks like shes on bars
Timestamp?
I cant see on my phone I saw it on my tv with better lighting. But after minute 2 just look over his shoulder shes wearing glasses
Bahaha I love how they cut away and they cut back and she's sitting back with her mouth wide open
Some mark clearly bought his gf that couldn't possibly care less about wrestling. ,😂😂
I saw Edge at Wrestlemania 23 go through a ladder and then back up the ramp on a stretcher.
Respect this man was just like foley ima put my body through hell cuz "think of the pop" you a real one if you get the quote
I think more edge storys would be amazing
I want to hear an hour and a half of Edge stand up
I remembered being at college the day after edge cashed in money in the bank at New Year's Revolution 2006 and seeing the picture of edge holding the wwe title while I was on my lunch break i was like wtf?, mind you I was a cena fan back then now not anymore, but on the contrary I was shocked to see edge as wwe champion as I grew up watching his matches since the attitude era.
