"It's the heartbreak kid, he can't go out on a winning note". That explains it. Crown Jewel was the real retirement match of HBK since, that match was truly heartbreaking.
I wanted a HBK comeback for years, but I finally came to terms w the fact that he was retired....then CJ 2018 happened. Seeing a bald HBK & an old HHH, cuddled together in the corner of the ring, hyperventilating & looking like they were in desperate need of oxygen masks, broke my heart 😭 Talk about seeing your childhood heros, fall.
what you talking about? hbk retired after wm 26. he NEVER returned to wrestling after that. yall GONNA confuse the rest of the people here. GIVE it a break. YOU gotta. he hung UP the boots after wm26. crown jewel never happened
HBK was in, the first wwf ladder match 92. the first lumberjack match 93. first hell in a cell 97. second person to win back to back royal rumbles. (hogan was first) first ever elimination Chamber match. First Ever Grand Slam wwf/e Champion. the guy is arguably the most influential wrestler ever. The entire current roster is guys that basically are HBK / Jericho clones (move set)
That last bit is so true and so sad at the same time, like wtf with all the superkicks, did HBK auction off the lyrics for sweet chin music lol, it is ridiculous and now elias is doing the undertakers "Old School " and K-O has cloned the stunner... let the beautiful amazing and legendary attitude era R.I.P you cannot recreate a masterpiece without the right brushes or in this case wrestlers , either we have a bunch of he most unimaginative untalented in ring male performers or WWE are forcing these movesets onto them either way, the womens division is actually ahead of the mens division for the first time ever, in terms of overall in-ring ability, innovation, excitement and originality
@Yashthir Kasiparsad I both agree and disagree, right now we have newer, more polished brushes. But the painter isn’t the same, there is no motivation for Vince and the creative team in general to create wacky characters like in the attitude era that stood out, hopefully AEW changes that
Shawn in interviews credits Ric Flair for much of his character development in the early days, and he credits "gentleman" Chris Adams with the invention of the Super kick. I mean whoever invented the suplex has had his move set stolen by like everyone! It is rare that any wrestler invents their own move, Chris Jericho's walls of Jericho/ Lion tamer is a very mildly modified boston crab. Fantasma de la Quebrada is I believe credited with inventing Chris Jericho's Lionsault move. Gregory helms was doing a double knee jaw breaker, known as something like the knee face buster... a move known by Jericho fans as "the codebreaker" before Chris Jericho modified it slightly. So Chris Jericho was just taking other people's move sets and putting them in as his own.....as wrestlers have done from the dawn of wrestling. Jericho also said in an interview he would watch other guys who were not that well known and use their moves because they looked cool, he would look like the innovator of them. Randy Orton's RKO is a version of the Diamond cutter which is a version of Johnny Aces move.....this list of "legends" stealing other people's moves could go on for a long time. Like the Undertaker's Tombstone pile driver, it was performed by Andre the giant before the Undertaker, but it was also performed by a guy named Jackie Pallo in the 60's when Andre first used it televised in the 70's. Most guys over 6' 7' - 6' 8" have a choke-slam type move in their back pocket. Emulation in wrestling is often seen as the highest form of praise. (depending on how and why you do something a lot of it is just theft of a good idea) It's easy to get caught up idolising your favourite performers and despising performers you didn't like. You have to remember they didn't invent wrestling or wrestling moves, wrestling existed before either Shawn or Chris were even born. You and I are standing on the shoulders of giants, in whatever you do for a living or for a hobby, you are doing what someone did before you. We are all a product of the thousands of years of human kind. Shawn is one of my favourite all round performers in wrestling, I enjoyed his gimmicks up to D-X, but people aren't cloning him, they are cloning all the people Shawn cloned. You can argue Shawn popularised a move, Shawn made a move better in some way with his performance even more so than the originator, you could argue that the move is only popular because of his popularity and success. Shawn took those moves as did Chris because they thought they could make them work, the same way the current roster are doing with those same moves, of which neither Shawn or Chris invented, they may not know they are emulating Chris Adams because they don't know who he is, they may be emulating their hero Shawn, but he was emulating his hero. In 30 years time kids of 8-9 now will be looking back at Dolph Ziggler saying all the wrestlers of 2049 are stealing all of Dolph's moves, because HBK will be long and forgotten just like Chris Adams, Andre the giant and so on. They will be names people have heard, but have never seen more than one or two clips of.

Eh. If Michaels is going to come back for ONE MORE, I don't think it should be against Undertaker. As much as I love seeing them together, obviously been there, done that. Give us a fresh match like with Styles/Bryan/or Samoa Joe. Now if by chance he agrees to do a few matches in the course of a year, then sure, why not?
bigb860 as much as I’d like to see him face aj styles or Seth Rollins, story line perspective it would make more sense for long term booking but I’d only want to see it happen if Shawn beats him at wm 35
Sure. And sadly, I don't think Shawn Michaels is ever wrestling again, as much as I would love to see him come back, if he can still do it. He and Daniel Bryan do have history going back to either 2012/13 and the fact that Michaels did train Bryan. If he were to wrestle again, I think his first match should be a tag. Maybe even throw him in the 5 on 5 at Survivor Series. Just to see how rusty he may be.
Imagine taker watching from home like the rest of us, and the mini-promo challenge comes through his tv. He had a very unique moment where fiction and real life met. ALL HAIL META GAME!!!

A lot of comparisons are made between current stars and Shawn (Seth, AJ, etc.), but one of the guys who I think share the position he had during his prime is Hiroshi Tanahashi in the late 2000's-early 2010's. Because the WWE wasn't exceedingly popular during Shawn's prime, and NJPW wasn't exceedingly popular during Tana's prime, but both men kept their respective promotions afloat during a period when both faced their greatest amount of competition. Shawn's career obviously had completely different consequences than Tana's did, but I think that highlights the fact that Shawn kept things going despite his demons.
The Rematch story between them was one for the books... December He just wants to know Royal rumble Losses the way he did Elimination Chamber Causes the belt lost to taker W.m. 26 The End Amazing!!! Thank u h.b.k for being the reason I started seeing wrestling. Both wcw and wwf back in 1995...👏✊
I remember once as a kid watching a promo on RAW where HBK was posing on the hood of a car after he did something stupid and then immediately passing out on live tv and you could tell that no one knew what happened because they quickly cut the scene and wasn’t mentioned again. Anyone know what happened to HBK that day because I never heard anything about that
I would actually watch WWE again if Shawn came back, even part time. He's arguably the greatest in ring performer of all time and he has tremendous charisma.
Agreed Raider Nation95. Bret is easily one of the best in ring performer. But I would say I preferred Michaels mic work better but Bret and Shawn worked great together too so both are equally great, just they both have their strengths and weaknesses, albeit not too much weakness, except I found Bret to be a bit stiff on the mic.
As much as it would be been there done that, I think it would be the right idea for Shawn to comeback and retire Taker. As much as I don;t want the dead man to leave, no one deserves to say they retired him more than Shawn. Maybe a handicap match, Taker vs Michaels and HHH, together even after getting their butts beat they are able to take down the dead man. You can only retire him with two guys.
I honestly agree with Shawn. The way his career ended on that night doesn't need to be messed with. For all the times I've seen MANY wrestling fans bitch about Flair's comebacks and other wrestlers comebacks, it's honestly nice to have one guy who stood by it. Does it kinda suck that it's HBK who did that, yeah. I love his work. But I respect the man and the character about a million times more because there is legitimacy to it. He said it was his last, and it has been. That KEEPS the WM26 match special to this day. It hasn't lost its meaning, and if he stays retired, it never will.
Shawn and Undertaker were great in the ring. Their Hell in a Cell match in 1997 was legendary and set the bar for how good a Hell in a Cell match can be. But their 2 WrestleMania matches were just as good if not better..
Shawn Michaels “stays retired” because he’s almost 55-years-old, he’s had both knees replaced, and he’s had multiple back surgeries. Michaels has lost a full 2 inches of height from injuries alone, and he lives in chronic pain. Each time he performs in the ring he risks sustaining a devastating injury like the one that Sting experienced wrestling Seth Rollins.
Shawn's legacy and Career came to a perfect and beautiful end and it would be a slap to the face of the Undertaker and Shawn's Legacy if he comes back.
Shoutout to the sheer size of WWE wrestlers. Shawn usually was the smaller guy in the ring, and look at this dudes form a dozen years out of the business. Absolutely jacked people
I think primarily he stays retired because that business represented the time of life when he was younger and reckless He has changed his life for the better and he has perminent damage to his body because of it a he does have some brain damage as people can tell hes got joint damage his back has permanent damage his knees his upper body He doesn't need to come back and do anything and make any money and stay in the business it's not something that he needs to do where is when he got started in this business he need to stay in it until the point where he couldn't do it which is why he retired in the 1st place in the only real reason why he came back was is that he one of the come back and do it all over again and do it different end to it better and then leave on a much better note and that's exactly what he did
The guy initially screwed up in the very beginning he said his retirement match was the year after he wrestled flair which is not the case.. did anyone else catch that?
I enjoy seeing interviews with Sean as he’s older. Historically he’s one of the best performers ever but not the nicest person. Like all of us, we are wiser as we are older. He seems much more likable now.

anyone else seen monday night raw? hbk vs taker wrestlemania 35?? hbk at australia and then he sets up the match and retires the undertaker?
Maybe hhh will do it with an assist from hbk
Maybe Taker requested a retirement match with HBK. That would be epic.
This is the least scattered I've heard Shawn in an interview
You know, you're absolutely right, you know what I mean?
And again
Sobriety is a hell of a drug
And he still kinda rambles lmao
Because he isnt lying here.
RIP HBK’s ponytail
IMO HBK vs Undertaker at WM25 is the greatest match in wrestling history.
Imagine taker watching from home like the rest of us, and the mini-promo challenge comes through his tv. He had a very unique moment where fiction and real life met. ALL HAIL META GAME!!!
Madison square will ever remain in Shawn's mind...his respect to himself, to Undertaker, to WWE universe, to the system was so so so outstanding. HBK fan For ever
Had he stayed retired or just had a match with AJ Styles.
Ughh i was at the Raw that had HBK vs Kozlov..rip
"Its beautiful, I don't want to mess it" I wish he had stayed true to those words.
Who's here after he came out of retirement for that Saudi Arabian 💰😒
So we cannot pay to see these ppl?
@@spiritofroyalty *He was supposed to stay retired, but he got offered so much money to be on that stupid Saudi Arabia show. I wish WWE wouls cancel all them. The last one was trash, women are not allowed to wrestle, certain superstars can't even go, and the country is full of controversy and a mess. I'm sick of Saudi.*
@@spiritofroyalty Saudi Shows are harming the reputation of WWE PPVs. And it doesn't help that both of the shows thus far have been a disaster
@@davidworks1036 If you are from the states then Saudi is not more controversial and mess than the US. Btw, Keep follow your media so you can be the proudest brain washed fella lol
@@spiritofroyalty *So CNN isn't reliable? Popular Sports network talking about Saudi GSA not allowing women to compete isn't? The journalists issue? The civilians in Saudi are innocent, but the government and GSA is are such a mess. They need to fix their shit because it really doesn't make their country look good. At least the U.S has Gender Equality unlike Saudi which doesn't even allow Women to do certain things. I wouldn't want take my girlfriend over there for vacation either just because of how controversial it is over there. I don't know if you live in Saudi or in U.S like me, but you can't tell me that U.S is more controversial than Saudi, that's bullshit.*
Absolute GOLD.
Look at that arm...! Even the current wrestlers don't have such...! HBK shall come back for one more run
This in my home town 20 mins away and I missed hbk the goat in my own city ffs
December
He just wants to know
Royal rumble
Losses the way he did
Elimination Chamber
Causes the belt lost to taker
W.m. 26
The End
Amazing!!! Thank u h.b.k for being the reason I started seeing wrestling. Both wcw and wwf back in 1995...👏✊
The greatest Wrestler/overall performer in MY OPINION
I remember once as a kid watching a promo on RAW where HBK was posing on the hood of a car after he did something stupid and then immediately passing out on live tv and you could tell that no one knew what happened because they quickly cut the scene and wasn’t mentioned again. Anyone know what happened to HBK that day because I never heard anything about that
too much pills lol
The greatest of all time. ♥️♥️♥️
the promo leading to that WM26 match was epic
Shawn Michales is in a great shape now!
He's preparing for a fight.
Pure muscle!
This video is old
@@thehexmusic3435 incorrect
Its from january
I was at this in dublin it was awesome im going to see you again when you come with edge
I would actually watch WWE again if Shawn came back, even part time. He's arguably the greatest in ring performer of all time and he has tremendous charisma.
Forsure, and don't forget Bret Hart
Agreed Raider Nation95. Bret is easily one of the best in ring performer. But I would say I preferred Michaels mic work better but Bret and Shawn worked great together too so both are equally great, just they both have their strengths and weaknesses, albeit not too much weakness, except I found Bret to be a bit stiff on the mic.
I would give the title to Bret Hart, but Shawn Michaels was truly skilled and quite the showman
Did you start watching again or were you all talk?
You seriously didn’t want to watch that
The build up and promo, even the match between Shawn michaels and Undertaker at WM 26 was outstanding. I loved everything about it
My favourite wrestler. 😍
shaun still looks good for his age 1000% he could probably pull off a few more good matches for sure ...
Shawn's greatest match in my opinion is the ladder match at wrestlemania 10. The innovation was off the charts. That match flowed perfectly.
This has to be Old He still has his TonyTail🤔
WIKDPISAKIX earlier this year when he did a tour with Kenny, only cut the pony tail off this year.
It was in january i was at the show in dublin
Less than 9 months ago! Was there live myself
Don’t have to be a genius to figure that out ... or do you? 😂
Who is Tony? :P
My favourite of all time, I had to turn off that crown jewel match so I ould remember him as I did.
2019 could be meeting again
Funny, insightful talk. Great crowd
Him or Triple H. Though A.J Styles made them proud though I think.
Shawn Michaels the greatest wrestler ever. In the late 90s at his best he was electric
It was just recommended today and.... well that didn't age well, did it?
I honestly agree with Shawn. The way his career ended on that night doesn't need to be messed with. For all the times I've seen MANY wrestling fans bitch about Flair's comebacks and other wrestlers comebacks, it's honestly nice to have one guy who stood by it. Does it kinda suck that it's HBK who did that, yeah. I love his work. But I respect the man and the character about a million times more because there is legitimacy to it. He said it was his last, and it has been. That KEEPS the WM26 match special to this day. It hasn't lost its meaning, and if he stays retired, it never will.
The greatest of all time
I....Was....There, Absolutely amazing atmosphere
For gods sake, Shawn doesn't even get a chance to open his mouth until 1:13
Shawn and Undertaker were great in the ring. Their Hell in a Cell match in 1997 was legendary and set the bar for how good a Hell in a Cell match can be. But their 2 WrestleMania matches were just as good if not better..
No, it should be Shawn Michaels vs AJ Styles at Wrestlemania 35.
Why? So we can see a shadow of the HBK that we fell in love with 20 years ago? He can't go with AJ Styles in 2019.
Does ANYONE have the original link to that placebo promo/set up clip?? Without the later taker response edit
th-cam.com/video/Rz_WuPD8hoQ/w-d-xo.html
I do believe Taker was working the same RAW that Shawn gave out the challenge. I believe he wrestled against Orton.
HBK One of the best of all time
Shawn Michaels “stays retired” because he’s almost 55-years-old, he’s had both knees replaced, and he’s had multiple back surgeries. Michaels has lost a full 2 inches of height from injuries alone, and he lives in chronic pain. Each time he performs in the ring he risks sustaining a devastating injury like the one that Sting experienced wrestling Seth Rollins.
Btw he was only a strong 5'10 in his prime,180cm.Now he is 5'8.Billed heights are bull
H.b.k. i want biceps like you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love you since i am a kid.
Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 35 needs to happen!
Paige shut up fake
Faze JJ You need anger management
No
Shawn's legacy and Career came to a perfect and beautiful end and it would be a slap to the face of the Undertaker and Shawn's Legacy if he comes back.
I’d rather have AJ v Shawn. Shawn v Taker will be a difficult match for both, given takers physical ability at this point in his career.
Shoutout to the sheer size of WWE wrestlers. Shawn usually was the smaller guy in the ring, and look at this dudes form a dozen years out of the business. Absolutely jacked people
He's even the showstopper in real life
The Placebo promo vid they talk about is in my opinion, the greatest video hype package WWE ever did.
Wait Shawn Don't have long hair he gots short this is a old video
Both are living legends
Perfect timing
because it's old. Notice how he has long hair
I though he grew it back and flew to Ireland overnight
Bit of a pity that he did the Crown Jewel tag match, I really liked the fact that Shawn was keeping his retirement match word legitimately.
1:21 Shawn Michaels became the dad from Steven Universe in old age
He looks awesome
I think primarily he stays retired because that business represented the time of life when he was younger and reckless
He has changed his life for the better and he has perminent damage to his body because of it a he does have some brain damage as people can tell hes got joint damage his back has permanent damage his knees his upper body
He doesn't need to come back and do anything and make any money and stay in the business it's not something that he needs to do where is when he got started in this business he need to stay in it until the point where he couldn't do it which is why he retired in the 1st place in the only real reason why he came back was is that he one of the come back and do it all over again and do it different end to it better and then leave on a much better note and that's exactly what he did
uh he doesn't have brain damage
I watch raw\SmackDown every week hoping to see someone that can surpass what the attitude Era did for wrestling. Still waiting.
Real Heel Ryan you will be waiting for the rest of your life unfortunately.
shawn is lookin jacked
OneButton Dash NOT
Woe. Exclusive footage... from your own event... how did you pull this off?
Undertaker was like WTF😂😂😂
they show him dropping that hat like 5x from all different angles lol
I'm just a sexy boy. SEXY BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!
HBK vs Undertaker WM 25 GREATEST MATCH EVER!
Whoops. He spoke too soon
-Saudi Arabia
Idk why I noticed this but does anyone else see the ONE guy in the whole crowd on his phone at 8:02 ?😂😂
Shawn Michaels: "Its so easy to stay away [from wrestling]"
Saudi Royal Prince: "Jump, bitch"
Shawn Michaels: "how high, sir?"
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Stay retired you say ?
Not even for a loads of money ?
Enter crown jewel
Clearly this is old shawn has haircut
H B k is awesome
But they're paying me so much Saudi money?!!!
- Shawn Michaels -
The guy initially screwed up in the very beginning he said his retirement match was the year after he wrestled flair which is not the case.. did anyone else catch that?
My man HBK is JUICED in this video. lol.
I popped for the Placebo reference, but then you knocked off the man's hat lol
I stay retired because-wait, what is that? Saudi Arabian money? I’m in!
The Heartbreak Kid. I get it😢
I enjoy seeing interviews with Sean as he’s older. Historically he’s one of the best performers ever but not the nicest person. Like all of us, we are wiser as we are older. He seems much more likable now.
Shawn looks like a salty ole' sea dog.
Aye Aye Captain Michaels, Sir. All ahead full.
