This guy is one of Best ever in the sport , he is a traditional Muay Thai fighter doing everything by the book , amazing timing،speed and power with every kick and punch , fluid as water

Buakaw is a beast. I've watched Muay Thai fights before on TV and I thought it's brutal. I've watched Buakaw fights a while back and he is what Muay Thai is all about. Raw power and speed.
dance he does before the fight is a Muy Thai tradition. Displays the fighter"s character, spirit and techniques. And is a sign of respect and also meditative. Leads to self awareness because it is an expression of who you are.
That dance in the beginning is the wai kru ram muay.
Wai Kru Ram Muay each school has there own unique Wai Kru Ram Muay. It is paying homage to your teacher, including the King etc.
Wai kru it's like show your respect to your master, rum muay it's mean boxing dance

Buakaw and Saenchai are IMO, the best Muay Thai fighters ever! i fight it, and they're such a huge inspiration. Saenchai's supernatural speed and reflexes, Buakaw's supernatural power and stamina. They're artistry of Muay Thai. Both are friends. They also love their culture and are highly skilled in the oldest traditional form of Muay Thai - Muay Boran, used by Thai fighters to defend their countries in ancient times. Muay Boran's techniques are illegal in Muay Thai today. Flying head butts and even grappling on the floor as found in BJJ as well as 12-6 elbows to the top of the head to kill an oponent. #BuakawGOAT

Buakaw is known more for his switch-kick. He stands orthodox putting his left leg forward and his power leg at the rear of his stance. The switch-kick means he switches the front and rear position of his feet by doing a little jump step, making his left leg the new "power". He does this faster and more powerful than damn near every fighter. It's a thing of beauty for fight nerds.

was about to say. your title says your a muay thai sportsfan and never heard of this guy? every big fan of that sport heard of this guy, he is a legend and a beast when it comes to muay thai
"That left hand" Was actually a left elbow! It's tough to see but you'll be able to tell off the motion after you watch more muay thai. A lot of Buakaws efficacy isn't just from his strength but also his timing. You'll notice the sweeps he's getting off kicks are to the inside of the rear supporting leg usually during an opponent's kick. His power punches are not just power punches but counters or angles brought by footwork. Dude is a scientist. "He ran around punchin tires you know he's got something mean in his fists", that was an elbow too btw

I concur. Sylvie von Duuglas-ittu is definitely a skilled Nak Muay technician and an inspiration to many of us who train, practice, and love Muay Thai and the culture. I watch her videos, vlogs, tips almost daily.
It is amazing that she has trained with real legends of the Golden age such as her favorite: Karuhat, as well as other legends like Dieselnoi, Samart, Sagat, Sangtiennoi, and Wangchannoi just to name a few.
I could be mistaken but I thought I saw a video of her doing a session with Saenchai.
@@SG-MT I don't think I've seen her work with saenchai but it could be Patreon only. She definitely is one of the most healthiest and respectful mindsets in the sport and the legends' willingness to work with her is testament.

My old man was in Thailand for business years back. He was watching the May Thai fights live. He got a pic with van damn, who was there enjoying the muy Thai fights as well. He said he has never been in such a frenzied environment. Those folks love to get down on the bets lol.

@Allure Vision, that hit at 5:58 was an elbow. In the Art of Muay Thai, the train to use hands, feet, knees and elbows. The Knick name for Muay Thai is "The Art of Eight Limbs" So you don't see a lot of elbow shots, because of how much damage they do. So a lot of fighting organizations, like K-1 for example which make up for a big portion of your video, won't allow elbows in their fights. There are fights that they do in Thailand where they will use hemp rope instead of boxing gloves, and they are allowed to use elbows, you'll see this in your Saenchai video ;)

Ramon Dekkers is someone you need to watch.Still the only non Thai to win fighter of the Year in Thailand and to receive a royal award from the Thai Royal Family for his services to the sport. He was also appointed ambassador of all foreign fighters in Thailand.RIP Ramon.
