Damn, you went with Saenchai. This just jump your respect level so many notches because this is way outside the realm of the casual combat sports fan. This isn't just regular kickboxing. This is hard core Muay Thai at its finest. While you're at it, check out Bukaw if you haven't already. These two guys will lead you down a glorious dark road of some awesome vicious fighters from Thailand and Cambodia and other places. Good job and keep up the good work.

What makes Saenchai even more amazing is due to the fact that many of his opponents are westerners who are much bigger and have much longer reach than him but Saenchai still manage to manhandle them like... effortlessly.

At 7:00 it's call ม้าดีดกะโหลก (marr-deed-ga-lhok) which basically means a horse's kick to the skull, it's a muay boran technique, it's illegal in some fights as its a technique that was meant for killing but he usually just gets a warning everytime after he does that. It's basically one of his signature move.

Hi I'm from Thailand and actually that kick called "Tae Tadd Kraa" (Technical term in Thai cause there's no prescribe this word yet) it's typically used when the opponent try to use high kick than you have to dodge it while he's losing his balance than try to grab his leg than kick his another leg and dump him on the ground. By the way, elbow is the one of his deadly weapon.

Saenchai is a living legend in muay thai.
Super reflexes, but with great technique.
The kick he did that you thought was called a windmill kick is called a cartwheel kick.
And the one where he jumps, were jumping roundhouse kicks.
"bob and weave" is the right term, but its more for boxing.
Sweeps are correct also. Sweeps and trips.

The jumping kick you asked about: as you mentioned, it’s extremely difficult to predict where his kicks are going. The reason for that is because he literally can go lo, mid or high at any moment. That kick is a perfect example. I guess technically it would just be a jumping leg kick, but typically when someone goes for that, they would go mid or high and that would be called a jumping roundhouse. When you see someone jump like that, instincts and training are gonna tell you to block high. When he then blasts that leg kick, now you’re second guessing even more. I can’t say I’ve personally seen anyone else really use a jumping leg kick. Saenchai is a true martial ARTIST.

I respect you for actually doing research and trying to understand what you're watching, instead of just mindlessly sitting there watching with a bored expression just to get some views, like many TH-cam reactors do. Also Saenchai is a great choice, one who is not too known in the west among casual fight fans who only really know about UFC. The type of people who actually think that Conor McGregor represent the peak of fighting greatness. Saenchai is one of the best muay thai fighters of all time, truly a living legend. I'm glad you seem to appreciate the immense talent and skill he posseses.

Saenchai is my favorite fighter in Thai kickboxing. The sweep that you are referring to that he uses is called a reverse catch kick sweep. He tends to do a cartwheel kick from the reverse catch if he doesn't sweep. The kick you were asking about is called a jumping round kick which he uses to set up a scissor round kick for the knockout. One of my favorite techniques he does is the question mark kick you should check it out.

Great to see you expanding into other forms of martial art. :)
    * Yes, a sweep or a sweeping kick.
    * When he stands on one hand is cartwheel- or capoeira kick. Super flashy , but expands alot of energy, low succesrate and put you in a vulnerable spot.
    * There is high twitch and low twitch muscles. High is usally more bulky and more power but get tired quickly. Low is usally more compact (lean) with high stamina and usally quicker. Many people forget that speed is as dangerous as power. Since there is weightclasses it doesnt matter what type of muscles. It is all about the guy - his style, stamina, mental toughness, reflexes, creativity etc)
    * Please check out Buakaw or my personal fav - Ramon Dekkers.

Yes, it's called a Sweep. These ones are specifically called Muay Thai Sweeps. The second kick is called a Cartwheel Kick in Kickboxing...And that last one is a Flying Inside Jump Kick which, he's the only person I've ever seen do it.
Also some of his other special techniques are the Question Mark Kick which looks like a front kick until the motion is about halfway through and then changes trajectory into a roundhouse to the head...It's also called a Brazilian Kick as well...Lastly his other specialty is the Fake Roundhouse Into a Teep kick which he fakes the roundhouse and does that front kick.

Buakaw has been mentioned by everyone here, he is obviously amazing as well. Also, notice that most of the western or non-Thai fighters in the ring with Saenchai are much larger than he is. Basically it's the only way he gets a fair fight is to go big ;) Saenchai is considered the very best Muay Thai fighter of all time. If you want to watch some heavy hitters see Yodsanklai who has one of the strongest roundhouse kicks going, and Tengneung who is one of the most aggressive Thai fighters you'll see. Tengneung began fighting at age 6 with his first pro fight at 7 years.

Your right it is sweeping in some some cases but it is often referred to as dumping in a lot od circles. It doesn't always do alot damage but it demoralizes the opponent especially if it's done more than once, they have to use energy to get up plus they start to 2nd guess themselves. In one fight Saenchai makes a guy do a whole 360 flip because he sweeps him from cut kicking his butt at the same time as reverse clothes lining his neck. This is the only time I've seen a fighter cause another fight to do a vertical 360 a potential neck breaker if he wasn't such a nice guy. Living Legend...

the kick where he was on his hands is called a cartwheel kick. the other kicks that u wanted to know about were flying side kicks, crane kicks, switch kicks and the straight one that pushed his opponents in the gut is a teep kick. No sweeps is correct but they can also be known as trips inside trips and outside trips. Also, bobbing and weaving is right but it is a boxing term for someone with good head movment as they are bobbing their head out the way of punches it means the same thing as ducking and diving.

Man respect you’re going from Buakaw to Saenchai cuz this guy is definitely more defensive and offensive then his friend Buakaw. That kick he does is one of his signature kick where he kicks his opponent inner thigh while he flies in the air which crazy but very creative.

I'm impressed, you're watching one of the greatest. If you get a chance, check out Ramon Dekkers one of the best western Thai fighters of all time. Unfortunately he passed away in 2013. But he was a powerful fighter. Also Bukaw, as well as Dieselnoi, Samart and the real inspiration for Street fighter 2' sagat. Sagat. Much respect for your interest in muay thai and other fighters.

Fun fact: if you pay close attention you'll notice in some clips he's wearing the typical boxing gloves on his hands. Whereas in other's he has ropes wrapped around them. The muay thai competitions where you have ropes wrapped around your hands is known is muay boran. Which is the deadlier counterpart to muay thai. Now obviously it's been watered-down for competition but the ropes instead of gloves pays homage to the traditional form of combat. Just a little tid bit there for you.

idk why i am here, but you are the only one making sense here. everyone here sucking buakaw dick calling him goat when he never even won a lumpinee belt. buakaw was never considered the best in thailand for a reason, and comparing him to legends like saenchai who swept 4 divisions in lumpinee or namsaknoi who reigned supreme for 6 years against the top competition is a shame.

The sweep that you see is called a leg/foot "sweep" like you said or a muay thai/clinch "dump" if its more from a clinch position. You aren't allowed to wrap your legs around theirs like certain "trips" you see from other styles.
