Before my mom passed, I would tease her by saying I was going out west to search for rocks. She would be surprised I'm thinking of doing just that. Thanks for being such an amazing teacher.
My dad was a geoligist for Philip Petroleum, a true rockhead through and through, and I'm a chip off the old block. Visited my aunt in Oracle and was hungry to learn about the geology. Way to go!
if I found this channel years ago when I was in my geology classes, I could probably have been able to visualize and understand quicker if I went home from class and immersed myself in these videos. Great job, you remind me of my aunt, she is in the forest service and if I hike with her she knows everything.
Wonderful to hear! That’s exactly my hope for this channel - to bring the field and real-world examples to anyone who can’t physically be there at the time. I, too, longed for the visualizations while taking intro courses, which is part of the inspiration for the project. Thanks for being here :)
@@LetsGoGeo you have done a good job! Most of the vocabulary you use in the videos are learned in the first true geology class most people take in college. Including mineral and rock names/types. Your videos are a very great tool for the visual learners (myself). I’d recommend you keep doing these videos for our future geologists. Once again, great job!
Awesome information. living up in the mountains for 30 years. If you ever need access to the interior of the Tortilitas, my wife and I would love to show you around.
Enjoy the subject and your presentations. Sometimes your exuberance outpaces my ability to process a lot of unfamiliar terms. Tried closed captions, don't read that fast either. Found a solution, set playback speed to 3/4. Works for me. Video takes a little longer but hey, pleasant company.
Thanks! Glad to have you here. In general, copper and zinc mining vicinities have the blues, sometimes turquoise to be found. Know that absolute ID on turquoise is actually difficult in the field with a little sample. But plenty of great varieties in AZ around old copper mines, as well as other fun minerals. I will do a quick overview of AZ mineral hunting soon !
Thank you so much !!! And if you come to Bisbee , AZ . Come to Old Bisbee Brewery and ask for the owner and wife : Victor and Adriana . You are so welcome !
@@LetsGoGeo Agree. I have had slight hiccups in a couple videos that I noticed after uploading to TH-cam and figured it is what it is. Definitely not worth taking the time to fix.
I found a land near a load mine and a drifted portion. I ask Jeff Williams to meet up with me. Nothing I ask the old man that is in new.mexico nothing..can you please tell me if I am in the correct place or not I need to know what time it moved from ot stationary and the other side drifted away from the source or it both moved away at the same time.
It all depends on what types of rocks and minerals you are after. This video provides a general overview. From there, you can decide which minerals coincide with which types of rocks and geologic environments.
Best place that's close to you is going to be just east of safford/ Thatcher. That's where you're going to get your fire agate/chalcedony , Apache tears saffordite turquoise peridot and a bunch of stuff dragged in by The gila River from the lava fields in New Mexico topaz ECT..
Question since you are doing this mineral video is that what you are doing. Do you also hunt gold .reason I ask is it seems to me that in order to know we're gold is you must have this knowledge as well..
Do all of your videos get hit with hater comments and trolls? You know you can delete them right? 😂 Nobody will miss the haters. ✌🏼 She said “central-ish Arizona”, but these reactions are as if she said “Tucson is in Northern Alaska! 🤪” Oh well… they’re probably just bots or miserable armchair critics trying to get a rise out of strangers… how sad and pathetic. Folks, stop going out of your way to spread negativity. Next time, try to find something positive to say or don’t say anything at all. Another great adventure @LetsGoGeo! Thanks for sharing! I hope you delete trolls and haters and block them too. Your channel is great without em! 👏🏻
At the 3:00 mark I stopped watching because of the poor lighting on your face. I can see your lips move but from there up all the rest of your facial features disappear into a cavernous shadow created by the bill of the cap you are wearing. And pretty much the first three minutes are just you talking. Better luck in your next production. Maybe get some help on the camera from someone who knows what they are doing. Sincerely, Pete
I am not a production company, just a girl who loves geology. The information is good for someone who wants to learn, perhaps not for someone studying facial features. 😆
@@LetsGoGeo I like the look with the bill of your cap shading the upper part of your face as it makes you look even more outdoorsey. Plus, it prevents nose sunburns too. Critics.

Oracle is where the Biosphere is near. I had a relative that lived there, also. The mountains there are called the Catalinas.
I appreciate all your efforts to educate all things about geology, that is why I am here to benefit for your hard years of college.

Very awesome Video🤘 super informative 👍
Thanks 👍
Very interesting and very cool you sound just like a geologist but I know that you are not in central Southern Arizona this time of year 😁😆😋👍😉🐝
I’ve been so busy with projects! The content is from the spring but just getting it all edited and posted now! :)
@@LetsGoGeo that's okay I hear that editing is very hard and time-consuming 😉😎🐝
Great video! Love for Arizona!
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll have a lot more coming from Arizona!

I plan to do a similar overview for Nevada, California, and some other western states when I get the chance. Hopefully soon!
Looking forward to all of these overviews.
Can you recommend an affordable Geiger counter or other rad meter?
Audio drops out for a little while @2:07. The desert in the Tucson area is so beautiful and lush.
Thanks - not sure what happened there but luckily it wasn’t a lot of lost content!

I wonder if you could still talk if your hands were in your pockets ? great video but maybe a bit less with the hand movements
I don’t think I could do it 😂
Millions of years ago .....hahhhahha yeah right
You don't even know where you are. Tucson is located far south and east.
Sometimes on camera we say things funny! 😅 Geologically speaking, however, there are similarities in the geology from central to south Arizona.
Don't tell everyone, it's supposed to be a secret 🙄

A half hour to Tombstone from Tucson. You are correct.
