personally just brought a couple tool bags and other items because of this video, cost more than I originally wanted to spend but I don't mind spending extra for a company that will do this for the gentleman who owns the house. big respect bundy
As a first comment, I will just casually say that Artisan just named Monster Energy tool of the day. But jokes aside, great one. Good to know people still care about others, particularly under the current covid madness
Ok - know I’m 3 months behind! So great to see you guys helping out your neighbors- I knows our can’t do freebies all the time, but sometimes good to give back. So nice to see the calendar with your dad. Good job - both of you
my dad knew absolutely everyone in the town I grew up in, its funny seeing talking to old blokes who know you and you have never met them or at least don't remember meeting them because you were a kid.
You should be proud of yourselves somthings are just worth more than money, you've helped out somone in need, it's nice to see someone giving back rather than just taking what they can get, well done 👏
This is lovely to see. Not only you giving up your time for this gentleman, but Ideal being so generous too. On top of that, helping to instill this level of empathy in an often maligned younger generation too. Adam is learning more than just a trade from a truly inspirational man. Keep up the good work gents.
Acts of such kindness are so heart warming and refreshing to see. Major props to all involved for making this old fella's life a less worrisome one. Well done, Guys!
Awesome work man, my dad was a sparky for 35 years such fond memories working with him mostly in london running cable and fitting lights sockets all that thats about as far as i got. We also did loads of Railway arches which was Three phase, but unfortunately i didnt end up becoming a sparky because of back problems several surgery's later still no better, what always amazed me was how offen the regs change its becoming a daily thing lol. One thing that amazed me was after all them years they changed the electrical cable from red black green to brown blue green, why after so many many years? Also very very proud to say my son in now a chippie i always told him you cant get a better job that on the buildings.
Hero’s come in all shapes and sizes - but always step up in times of need. Got me a bit when you found a picture of your dad - he would be so proud. Great job and thank you Ideal - Respect to all
The You Tube algorithm gods bounced you into my viewing life and I am certainly glad they did. I don't know how Jordan has more subscribers, you guys are way more entertaining 😁 Massive respect to you gentleman (and Ideal) for giving back like this. Stay safe and get amongst it
Nice to see some human decency. I appreciate a company doing their part, but your giving your time, for someone in need, when things are tight is just admirable.
Nice one lads, well done for helping the old guy out. My nan's house was the same, wiring was shockingly old and even worse than that house you've just done!! I was dreading it catching fire one day. To be quite frankly honest im surprised her DNO didn't disconnect it!
It comes as no surprise that the general community of the UK rather than the powers that be (so many useful people with a paid job - but no action ever happens!) are the ones who made this situation much improved. We got a lot of leaders - but not a lot of leadership. We got a lot of morals - but none of them produce the care needed.
Smashing job love to see a nice neat board change!! I'm still not sold on flexi con but who knows what the future holds 🤣 great thing you did for for old boy I take my hat of to you both and to ideal for supplying for free too none of you had to do that!! Great stuff!! Love the picture of your old man too brought a tear to my eye that... I had a similar thing but with my grandad last year.. lost him to cancer a few years ago but turns out he taught the guy I did some electrical work for when he was younger and told me how he was the man he was because of my grandad, he got him into teaching and helped him all the way through and got him an interview at the school he was at and got the job and managed to work with him for many years before he retired... he said I was just like him with having to have everything perfect and showed me pictures of him and my grandad back in the day!! He called my grandad his idol and he was and is always mine too
well done every one al good customer service from you all Nick , Adam and all who donated money and fuse board to help this elderly gentlemen , Brits @ there best
Well done for doing that for the gentleman. You both are stars and can fault a bit of flexicon. Ps love the part you had to wait for Adam to stop drilling. Old skool Comedy genius
Hats off to Nick ,Adam and ideal for helping the elderly gentleman out not many people these days do the right thing and all they worry about is the money and ripping people off which is way out of order. Wish there where more people like Nick Adam and ideal who are kind and respectful and don’t do a bodge job. Great work lads and thanks for the awesome content stay safe and take care
I know this is good pr for everyone involved, but the main thing is the guy got this done foc, i have lost count of how many times i have not charged people, nothing as costly as a board change, and i do get called a fool, but its not all about making money, any of us can fall on hard times for whatever reason, and its nice to see them get a helping hand . And we may not like to admit it but we do start to turn into our parents and copy some of their traits 🤣
Lovely gesture by your sponcer ideal and you guys, this kind of thing restores my faith in humanity well done! off the back of this video I'm going to check out what ideal do and see if I can use some of their services in the future I love using/supporting company's like that. Great video guys love the content.
That's pretty awesome of you and ideal to sort his electrics out. Now to get his garage roof sorted out. Also pretty cool to find a picture of your dad that could have just been lost to time.
Well done, Nick, Adam and Ideal, this and the last job where he was honest and lost a grand on a job, i am sure that these good acts will pay him back many times over, good to see honesty and integrity from trades men, keep up the good work
Great to see you doing this and Ideal stepping up too - well done. Why leave that light switch on the meter board - wouldn’t it have been better on the door frame?
Nice one lads .... We all forget sometimes the life these people have lived .An old boy near me used to catch me every time I walked the dog for a chat ...but boy had that guy lived a life listening to his tales. 👍
Well done 👍, that’s absolutely brilliant from Ideal and your time to install and new fuse board. The calendar with your dad on it , that nice touch mate.
As an American electrician, please forgive my ignorance in my questions. But that’s how one learns, ask questions. The panel you just replaced. Is that the typical amount of breakers for that size house of that era? And what year was that house built in? And for a new house of similar size, how many breakers will go in it? How much would a new panel, breaker(s) and whatever else cost for this particular job? Here in the US, if that house were say 15 to 40 years old. It would probably have at least 15 to 20 circuits. Most would be 120vac and some would be 240vac. The 220 would be a well pump, HVAC (two breakers, one outside unit and one inside unit), stove and/or oven. The 120vac would be all the outlets, lights, smoke detectors and whatever else. Typically we try to have a cap of 15 to 20 outlets, though there isn’t a code for residential. And with LED lighting maybe an entire floor would be on one breaker. (At least with the crew I’m working with.) With a new panel on an old construction like this. We try not to use AFCI, unless inspector wants them. Without them, it’ll probably cost around $1,000 to the home owner. With ACFI, double the price. Also, this is an all day job for us to replace and old panel with a new. That’s with 2 guys.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT VIDEO GUYS - Probably your best, topped off with a lovely bit about your dad. Well done to you and IDEAL for sorting out that guys DB & other bits. Loving the content guys as always, keep it up
WOW! I made a joke on the first video about you doing the job for the elderly man for free. I knew you would do something but didn't think this much. Massive respect to yu and Ideal for sponsoring :-)
Well done lads. This for me is always one of the harder jobs trying to see past all the old crap and just getting the job in hand done. Always a touch in cloth situation swapping out an old 3036 unit without a prior eicr. All in all a very neat job 👌
Good to see some people to care for others good for IDEAL to do what they did I will look them up now see what they have I may need. OK they get some free advertisement but there also helping some old guy out good on them. This is how the trade should be help others as it always comes back to you.
Fair do’s guys. Nick and Adam true gents. That’s one hell of a gesture from yourselves and ideal. Been sub’d a while now. Great content as usual. Keep it up.
It'll help Ideal's reputation no end, but they didn't have to do it, so good on them! I wouldn't worry too much about grouping of cables in small domestics (apart from heating or EVC cables) or those moaning at you, because as section 2.6.1 of GN 6 says, "...[7671] advises that the rating factors are applicable to uniform groups of cables, equally loaded. In practice this occurs most rarely but the table has been applied regardless of this. Clearly, care has to be taken in its application to groups of cables with disparate sizes". Then there's ignoring loads of not more than 30% grouped rating.
I like the idea of the double pole breaker outside the consumer unit as it makes changing it a lot easier. Doesn't it make the on inside the consumer unit a bit redundant, though?
Well done for doing this and helping the old chap out.👍 I know what you have done is ‘all up to regs’ and the latest standards and all that, but apart from the earthing on the incomer , lack of an isolator on the supply and no bonding to the Gas supply, what was actually wrong with the existing board - it looked a lot neater/discreet?
Hats off to you guys and ideal for sorting this out for him.
That’s amazing what you guys have done. Faith in humanity restored. Whoever disliked the video is just a total knob.
9 knobs so far.

Well done to You, Adam and Ideal. It’s good to hear larger companies also do nice gestures like this not just one man and his smaller trade company.
Fair play to for helping someone who obviously needs it and for Ideal Industries for supporting it.
You should be proud of yourselves somthings are just worth more than money, you've helped out somone in need, it's nice to see someone giving back rather than just taking what they can get, well done 👏
Fantastic thing you guys and Ideal have done for this gentleman. If only more folk had some humanity. Well done.
I'm sitting in a cafe in Sydney, Australia watching, with a tear of happiness, you good job! Well done IDEAL.
Thanks from a apprentice electrician, finding your videos really informative and are helping loads

this is one of your best videos, I come back and rewatch it every now and then.
What a heartwarming story of everyone, wanting to help the old guy out!
Acts of such kindness are so heart warming and refreshing to see. Major props to all involved for making this old fella's life a less worrisome one. Well done, Guys!

Well done lads, and good on Ideal for covering the cost !!
Well done Nick and Adam. First time I've felt good all February.
The supplier came out quickly to fit that isolator. I booked one in last week in Hertfordshire and the earliest date was mid April
And this.... is why you guys are awesome!
Well done lads & Ideal. I can just see Tomas Nagy having cold sweats with all the cobwebs in that garage!
Love it when the internet does a good thing.
Cheers Nick, I'm a 50 year old hard as Obo nails geezer with a bit of dust in my eye.😂 Great story and cracking vid as always.👍👍
