i would love marais’s more if the aow could stun lock for the full aow. i remember ppl breaking out of it pretty quick. with its current damage output that would be ridiculous and broken but i wouldn’t mind if the damage got nerfed and the poise dmg buffed

Dragon Halberd + offstoc is rapidly turning into one of my favorite setups. Good R1 running attacks, quick neutral L1s, a spin L2 if they roll around you, and even an R1-L1 true combo.

Hey chase, you should consider covering the envoys long horn. It does great damage and has the meme WA which is literally a shotgun. It’s my favorite weapon in pve but it would be fun to see how a pvp master uses it.

I've learned the best thing to do is to try to bait them into the weapon art (all they usually know how to do anyway) and try to keep my self positioned to where I can get behind them real quick

One of my first PVP battles in this game was against someone running the zweihander with quickstep. So hilarious after years of DS3 PVP.
Would love to see the Bastard's Stars! Flails aren't very good but I feel you can make anything work and the wind chime sounds it makes are just too cute, it's my favorite weapon! The Ashe of War also isn't terrible if you ask me

I stopped EVERYTHING I was doing, when I saw The name Zweihander on a TH-cam notification and it's from You so I'm gonna see some QUALITY Zweihander plays. And as a Dedicated Zweihander user since Dark Souls Trilogy to now, I appreciate the video on my beloved Zweihander.
luckily they did the zweihander justice in the game: its beautiful, great moveset and deals so much stagger damage in pve
@@ravi-oli In pve, I prefer the Greatsword for its much higher AR. You don’t really need to roll catch npcs anyway. But its R2 delay poke is really good for pvp.
If and when the Colosseum becomes a thing in the future, Chase is gonna be Radahn looking for someone worthy to take him out cause damn this guy has no time for L's.

I know you pre-recorded these showcases prior to your vacation, @ChaseTheBro and not sure if you've seen the latest patch notes? Among other things, the Waves of Darkness ash of war has been fixed so that you can now do the heavy slash at the end of it.
Also can't wait to finally see your pure faith invasion stream once you get back! it's the only build you haven't had the chance to do yet (running another char through the game ain't fun!) but since I am a faith build myself, I can admit I have vested interest in that stream!

A good weapon that my brother used to decent effectiveness is the rusted anchor, a greataxe with high damage and does pierce damage. Works well with swords dance, flame strike, wild strikes, and crag blade for shield busting
Great vid. Suggestion for a video idea can you do a movement-guide for pvp like timing rolls roll catching back step attacks crouch attacks and stuff theres alot of new dark souls players now elden ring is my first and id love to watch and learn some tricks for pvp from a legend.

My favorite weapon. I love having the thrust heavy, and obviously rolling attacks.
If you use the axe and spear talismans along with royal knights resolve you’re able to deal some really good damage. It’s especially effective against ROB when they try to poise your attack but they die.
Aaah, the only half-way reasonable looking colossal sword and one of the few I actually like using!
You just can't go wrong with the classics! That scythe-wielder reminded me of a suggestion I forgot.
How about trying out Phantom Slash on the next polearm showcase? I'm interested to see how it'd do.
The ghost's range is pretty wild and you can completely mix-up the direction of your own slash with it.
I could see you really putting the pressure on someone with it, trick them into falling for the real slash!
Yeah the Gravitas seems really good with the Zweihander, if you catch em with the pull in it looks like it combos an R2 if they panic roll, which is nasty for this weapon!

Hey Chase, always appreciate your series, think you’ll ever cover shields like Fingerprint? It’s not your style, I know, but with Ice Spear fixed, it’s be good to know how to play against.
Piercing fang and impaling thrust are good counters.
I prefer jump attacking off the cliff.
@@Kharis- Piercing Fang is commonly listed as a counter, but it's way too slow. I can see it a mile away and dodge it with time to spare -- same problem with Coded Sword, Fingerprint doesn't block it but you'd have to be blind to miss the dodge, even if you were fat rolling. Cipher Pata on the other hand is far faster, RKR on anything a scythe or larger can actually deal significant enough chip to be worrisome, and Militia Shotels aren't bad if they got Sword Dance (not Giant Hunt tho -- same problem, too slow and visible).

Unrelated to the Zwei, but lately I've been loving Halberds! I hated them until trying them after some of your showcases.
I'd love to see the Vulgar Militia Saw! It's my current favourite weapon. From my testing, it is one of the best Dex Scaling Halberds. It has the sweeping R2s, and is exactly the same as it's higher scaling cousin, the Vulgar Militia Shotel, but makes up for the slightly less AR with a 55 base Bleed Passive!
I haven't seen many other Cold Infused weapons with Passive Bleed that can reach 600 AR at level 125.
I'm a 125 Wretch with [15 STR, 64 DEX, and 10 INT], so the extra points I have in Intelligence, Faith, and Arcane can make the damage even higher.
A vote for Maliketh Sword as well!

I’ve been having a lot of fun with Stormhawk Axe. The ash seems to catch people off guard with its multiple spins. I would love to see it.
Hey chase. You should try going invisible. Use assasing gambit with a dagger in your right hand then cast hidden body with the staff of loss in your left. You will have about 45 seconds where you can't be locked onto because your lockon range is reduced to less than a meter.
Idk what it does in regards to this but I get so many backstabbs this way. Maybe it has to do with your opponents attacks not having anything to track but it's too much fun. Especially fun against casters and spear users. Tho plenty of players figure out to manual aim their attacks and so its not too crazy. But makes for some fun fights.
One thing I've noticed when doing pve is that the shield chip on the shotel also applies to ashes of war. With ice spear getting fixed, perhaps you could experiment with the various shield chip weapons (shotel, vulgar militia shotel, reapers) with different ashes of war to try and see what would be the new best anti-shield counter?
Dragonscale blade would be cool to see, I have yet to run into it in PvP and just picked it up on my dex build
Some neat psuedos i found are crough r1 to flame of redmanes if they roll out or lightning slash if they roll into you
You should do the iron cleaver! With the axe talisman and cracked tear, the charged R2 catches after an R1 so often that does massive damage as a bonus. The best ash of war I found is Beast Roar. With both the R2 and AOW it becomes the king of spacing.
When Chase gets low on HP I always root for the opponent and honestly that running attack at 9:03 would have hit me 99% of the time so I thought someone finally beat him! But no, you guys have insanely low ping!

Lightning infused Zwei is my go to. Especially dueling in Liurnia with the added rain damage increase.

I have Keen Zwei with Freezing Mist and Electrify Armament alongside Godslayer's GS on a faith build with Raptor's Black Feathers and Claw Talisman, and it puts in work. I just jump attack everything to death.
Try the Beastman’s Curved Sword! It has unique R2s and looks sick. It also gets B/B quality scaling, which has been very fun power stanced on my 55/55 quality build.
Also the jumping R1/R2 are pretty unique for a curved sword
Not sure if you ever look for weapon suggestions to try but I would love to see a vid with the iron cleaver!
zweihander will always be my fav pvp weapon in elden ring, so glad that it gets its well deserved love by chase today

Great stars is an incredible weapon, one of my favorites in the game. Great moveset, good range for a great hammer, fairly quick, heal on hit, innate bleed, and an A scaling on strength. It also shreds through PVE mobs if you put wild strikes on it, but I'm curious how it would work in PVP, especially with different ashes of war. But wild strikes start into finishing the ashe of war may be a true combo in PVP, it's super quick. Not sure though
I'd love to see some daggers or whips next! Zweihander is really cool though.

Zwei is great , my favorite weapon ,their heavy attack (thrusting forward) make you become hyper armor , that useful for counter incoming attack.
some fist weapons would be so cool next, katar does thrusting counter damage and with rkr its really good

But anyways, I would recommend trying out the Storm Blade ash of war. It's simple, but more effective than you would think, and does a surprising amount of damage.

Hey Chase, what weapon types are the best for pvp in your opinion?
Try the longhaft axe/crescent moon axe/executioner greataxe. They're all similar in that they're great axes with extended reach. Longhaft trades reduced AR for reduced weight, which is nice as you can then reinvest END into STR to make up the difference in AR. The difference at 66, heavy, 2h is only 5 AR, so I prefer it to free up that extra endurance point for faith (@125 wearing haligtree helm, vets armor, scaled greaves and gauntlets on a hero class gets you 60 vig, 66 str, 18 end, and 25 faith w/great jar and erdtree while hitting 63 poise. FGMS and Golden Vow availability)
The R1 is a long reaching downward slash, similar to the nightrider glaive.
Flame strike, beast's roar, earthshaker, and storm stomp have all been incredible tools. I haven't really enjoyed RKR on it, as it's difficult to get people with it without using consumables to pressure. They just bail the moment I set it.
9:30 Chase you showed an curved Greatsword once from eldenring. It was morgott's cursed sword.
I ask me how power standing these kind of weapons would be? Morgott's cursed sword is pretty light for it's weapon class.
I like zweihander with beast roar on lightning setup, allows me to keep longer range aggression.
