    Equality of outcome is impossible in a free society. You cannot force equity. Freedom needs to be generally available, but policy cannot force it.

      I just had the sudden realization that, the history of failure that follows attempts to enforce equality of outcome, that's the metaphor that explains why, in order for there to be free will, God must allow evil.

    “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

    Concerning equality of outcome, who is qualified to engineer a society of hundreds of millions of people, with all the complexity that suggests, so that there is no disparity in outcomes in any aspect of life? As Thomas Sowell has asked regarding many issues of this nature, "who gets to decide?" The Soviet Union thought it could completely control their economy from above, and the result was misery and disaster for all but the "deciders".

      To quote Prinnies from Disgaea: "You'd need to be God to plan all that, dood!"
      Human beings can't handle that kind of complexity, but they sure can (and are inclined to!) rake in loot for themselves. Capitalism capitalizes on that inherent greed to create forced altruism and incentives to lift all boats; communism and socialism result in the very oppression the marxist students think they're fighting.

      She sorta did because this is the interview where she misconstrued in bad-faith his use of the anthropological term "Enforced-Monogamy" to mean that JP believed all cultures should force women to he assigned-wives or like for men - not cultures that highly value marriage.

    The problem is the 7% of feminists in this example will never be satisfied even if 93% of women were happy based on expectations of career / family balance. The most puzzling things I’ve heard is women want to be paid ‘as much as a man’ but desire to be with someone who makes more than them.

    • @TopsideCrisis346
      @TopsideCrisis346 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Well, let's think about this. The Nazis went after those they considered "inferior," for whatever reason, mostly based on eugenics and Darwinian concepts of race - Jews, blacks, etc. By contrast, the Communists went after those they thought were self-supposedly "superior," that is, the bourgeoise - wealthy land owners, farmers, factory owners, bankers. Now, by odd coincidence, the very people who happened to be wealthy in Russia during the Bolshevik revolution also happened to be Jewish.
      Now, I suppose the real question remains - why do so many people hate the Jews!? Seriously, what have they ever done to you, directly, personally? My interactions with the Hebrew race have been few and far between. But, with one noteworthy exception, such interactions were always pleasant, and in many ways enlightening. These are a people who have an uncanny knack in finding and making the most of opportunities in virtually any given circumstance. To say God's favor rests on His chosen people isn't even the half of it. They just tend to be really good at what they do. And I suppose everyone else is just jealous.
      And that's precisely the point. Communism, Socialism, Wokism - all of these philosophies around top-down centrally planned economies, overseen by an almighty State that owns everything - all of them are rooted in jealousy, in the supposed "unfairness" of a world where many play and few win. Rather than try to be like the winners, those who advocate for equity would rather attack them, tearing down that which is excellent rather than trying to build oneself up to a standard of excellence. But you don't make yourself better by making everything around you worse. You just wind up making everyone else as miserable as you are. #WakeUpFromWoke

    • @longWriter
      @longWriter 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TopsideCrisis346 You know, what you've said reminds me of something I'd thought of a while ago about woke schooling:
      If they _really_ wanted minorities to be successful and generally build up wealth, what they'd do is they'd bring in adult minorities who _had become_ successful, let them tell their success-stories, and give the kids the tips and tricks to navigate the world that the wokies theoretically believe is hostile to minorities.
      I mean, there _are_ minorities who manage to build a business or a career and get rich; helping kids emulate that success is what the wokies _would_ do if they wanted minorities to find success.
      Instead, they tell minorities not to try to succeed because they'd be prevented from succeeding by a nebulous cloud of racism/privilege/whatever-buzzword-they-have-this-time.
      And when you think about it, the fewer minorities who try to make it in life, the fewer will end up succeeding. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, one that might well be put in place intentionally.
      The woke schooling _is_ one of the things holding minorities down and holding them back. Ironic, innit?
