As I started to watch your reaction, my appreciation for you as an individual accelerated. I am so pleased that you went back in time and watched Elvis and the black community. I don’t know if you’re aware that there are two parts look for part two. I’m subscribing to your channel only because of your Elvis reaction you seem like a genuinely nice young man and I’m a genuinely nice old lady lol but thank you so much. God bless you.

I just look forward to your TH-cam reactions and every single day. I’m disappointed for the older folks. Can’t you just stay on TH-cam and do Elvis reactions once in a while as older folks don’t know how to do all that other stuff. Ty I’ve missed you.

hey great reaction. you are one of the few reactors ive seen nail the point of the crowd being mesmerized. he had great crowd control. if you keep on the reactions to him you will see crowds going crazy, crowds looking hypnotized, rushing the stage, girls fainting. etc.he wore those big bell bottom pants because he kept a gun in his boot after being mauled on stage . he did 800 of these shows in vegas all sell outs. keep up the great job

Elvis outfits were on FIRE! Elvis sometimes brought a note with his lyrics on stage and hid it in his belt, that was normal. He had a lot of song to remember and his fans were just excited to be there and didn't mind. Today people are so uptight and judging and mean of artist that would be a big deal today. The fans loved and respected the artists in the 70's and prior. Shame on fans today and the uptight artist of today. Elvis moved his body to the beat of his band/music - SO AMAZING!. Can NOT be repeated by any other artists today or yesterday. That's why people still love him. He is the one and only. Only MJ can come close and that was a different time. You have to remember back in the day people dressed in suits and professional attire when they attended concerts and when they traveled on planes - Furs, suits and nightgowns. It was a different world. I love Elvis! Bon Jovi needs to shut the F UP he can't compare himself to Elvis at 40 or prior. Compare yourself to someone who is not a legend. Stay away from Elvis, MJ, Beatle, Rollingstones and Prince. You're not in their league.

I saw Elvis in person for the first time in 1970 just a few months before this performance and it was a surreal experience ... he was incredible. I saw many shows over the next few years, the last being in March of 1977 (which was sad because he was in such bad shape). But this video that just reviewed is peak Elvis ... from 1968 to 1970, he was at his best. This was a great reaction, and your observations and comments are perceptive. Thanks for showcasing Elvis.

  • @MMVDupont

Really enjoying your reactions! I am a bit older than you but also too young to have grown up with Elvis. I always liked a few of his songs over the years but had a lot of stereotypes in mind, too. Then about a year or so ago I suddenly started to watch some of the videos of his performances and couldn't believe how much I had misjudged him and how much I had been missing out on. I now can't get enough of this guy and also am enjoying watching others on TH-cam discover his talents etc. too so long after he died. Oh, one other thing: the Vegas crowd was a bit older and moneyed, on the whole, in Elvis's era there, '69 to '76, and in that era, it was quite rare for older people to get up and dance, the way younger teens and 20-somethings would. So what stands out is that occasionally some people in that Vegas crowd DO get up and dance while he is on stage. He and his music, and that of others from the 50s forward, were part of a revolution going on culturally still at that time where live performances and audience behavior were concerned among what we might generally call middle class America. Within a decade or so, it would have been more normal for even 30, 40, and older-something people to "let go" a bit more at such a venue. At last that's my sense, talking to my parents and others who were young in that period. Peace, Marie

Back in the 60's and 70's men wore suits and ladies got dressed when attending concerts. Everyone dressed very professional and totally different from today. Especially, in Las Vegas pre 1980's. It was a different time you need to review "Love Me Tender" Live 1970, it's from the same concert as "Suspicious Mind". Elvis played Las Vegas for 4 weeks starting in July 31, 1970 so you'll see a lot of Live Performances from that concert serious on TH-cam. Elvis was most definitely one of the best artist to ever perform. That's why he's still popular 46 years after his death.

You are spot on about Elvis and the band. He built the band piece by piece. He loved a big sound, and the band and singers could be so subtle and smooth, then BAM, EXPLOSION!! Elvis' greatest unspoken talents were production and arranging. He dictated everything that happened on stage. He would joke that with his moves, he felt like an old stripper, lol.

This is pure class. A filthy filthy song and Elvis is beyond channelling the music through his luscious body.
He was freestyling, a very early form of beatboxing you could say lol. He invented the mic drop too in his rehearsals footage.
He is on fire performing here, his sense of humour and his smutty side. Love his storytelling and subtle disguise of the real meaning of the words.
Yes he's saying what you think, deep throating the mic tells you all you need to know. Her daddy and brothers were useless and Annie had to bring home the money & food... he was no saint but who could resist all that female attention.
Look at him, just look he is such a tease ❤

Just subscribed; I've enjoyed watching your Elvis video reactions. The microphone...it didn't mean anything; Elvis had fun on stage, it was part of his charm. Also, Elvis 'conducted' the band, orchestra and backup singers with his body movements and backward looks towards a particular band member. That's what he's doing with the drum player - Ronnie Tutt. They're playing off each other. And yes, Elvis really felt the music with his whole body as he oftentimes said. Early in his career it got him into a lot of trouble - the 1950's was a very conservative decade but the young people loved the 'new' sound and Elvis's movements and weren't going to be denied.

Singers who can rock a stage with an entertaining "performance" are VERY few and far between. Michael Jackson was one. Jerry Lee Lewis was one. But maybe the real grand daddy of that kind of performance was the Godfather of Soul, the one and only James Brown back in the late 50s-early-60s. Unfortunately there are only a few rare black-and-white film clips of James Brown doing his thing. Elvis and James Brown were solid close friends.
