I was 10 yrs old the first time I ever heard If I Can Dream... Elvis had just died.. that song hit me in the heart at 10.. Had no clue what the true meaning was till 8 yrs later probably.. but I knew it was a special song.

Dude you have to react to “if I can dream@ but in his white suit. Much better that the leather suit one. Also remember America in the 50’s thru till he passed is a much different time. He was called a ni$$er. He stood for his girls when they told him to keep them home. Chuck D said it was a smack in the face to black artist to call him “King” he never liked being call king. In one occasion a lady gave him a crown to put on in concert. He said he couldn’t do that. He respectfully took the crown, but didn’t wear it. He gave so much to the black community, but on the DL. Fact, he never took a tax deduction for any charitable contribution. Who does that? Again, called a ni$$er, at 18, from Uber poor, to a superstar. The pressure he endured to be “him”. He could have folded. Never did. Elvis is more that a performer. He never EVER, criticized any artist. You should react to his Madison Square Garden interview 1972 how the media pressed him to say something they could run with. He gave them NOTHING but humble answered. I know this is long, but he was more important than anyone. Bigger than Michael Jackson. Before Elvis in the 50’s you had NOTHING, and great black artist were ignored. He took the pressure at 18, and didn’t fold. He opened the door for black artist, for everyone. Haters started the racist rumors. He did what no one had the courage to do back in the southern 50’s. At 18. He took on the world. As a minority, and you as a black young man, we need to know the history of Elvis. The greatest of all time.

Written by the great Marty Robbins (who had a number one hit with "El Paso"). Frankie Laine had a hit with this song. Elvis took it to another level. One of the greatest performances of his career, in my opinion. Would love you to react to "El Paso" and "Big Iron" by Marty Robbins, as well as "My Woman, My Woman, My Wife".

One of my favorite all-time songs is called my boy. It reflects my life sort of there is a video of Elvis, singing my boy, to Benjamin Kenough. Benjamin is his grandson committed suicide at the age of 27. He’s buried with Elvis and Elvis is recently passed away last year. They’re all buried at Graceland. Another great song is Elvis and his daughter Lisa Marie doing a duet called where no one stands alone or they do a duet of in the ghetto all very touching any case I’m babbling. Have a great day.

Elvis did grow up in a rough time and environment.. His Daddy went to jail for writing bad checks, I think, to put food on the table.. His Mama raised him for a couple years during the Depression alone.. but this song isn't about his life as a true story... I do believe that Elvis was devastated when his wife left him with their small baby girl.. some things in this song truly correlate with his life.. he did have to overcome a lot.. Bottom line.. he sang with so much passion .. you believed every word.

This song speaks to me, and I believe it is one of Elvis' greatest performances. His vocal is outstanding, as is the arrangement. It is a heartbreaking song, and Elvis sings it like no one else ever has. It is wonderful.
