Bdog used to drink 12 beers per round but he now only consumes 3 beers per round and his score has improved dramatically. At least that's how it is with my friends lol
I just started golf this summer and have played a few matches. I've shot a 106 on a par 60 and a 116 on a par 72. Then yesterday a 56 playing 9 par 32. I've been having a blast and will be continuing to play golf for sure
Sounds like we play similar...I started this summer (6-7 weeks ago as well). Im having so much fun...similar improvement...Congrats to you! I havent quite shot a sub 110 (tomorrow is the day!)...I did shoot 111 on a par 71 last week. My previous scores were 124 and 116. Prior to that I did not keep score. WIth a toddler at home I have found it challenging to get consistent daily practice...gonna keep chipping away at it...my goal is to break 100 by the end of this month...got lots of chipping/putting practice to do to make it a reality
This channel covers the exact part of the game that is the most important and no other channel talks about. The actual course and game management. I don’t need 100 videos of drivers, these videos got my mindset to where I could actually play golf. Before I would driver then longest club most aggressive line in. When I play golf so much better if I would just take the 5 wood or 4 iron off the tee every time. The driver is a tool on open holes and open par 5s to take advantage of when you can hit it long with little stress. Cut the course up to be able to handle it based on your game and nothing else. I’ve learned the value of confidence, and it’s all you need to have fun in the course. Everything matt says is true. Edit: shout out to gen, her golf channel is awesome too!
If I was making 10s I would give up. I get triples 3 times in a round and feel like quitting for good. But good for you. Im in a battles to break 90 consistently. But that's me. Good luck, bro
I have been watching your videos now for about a year. I got 2 lessons from a PGA pro to fix some minor mechanical problems. I'm hunting my first 100 break. Your mental planning has helped me as much as the lessons. My biggest take away and need to keep working on is playing to comfort and following a plan and forget the score. Thank you for helping be a playa!
Love seeing how different levels of Playas approach the round. Learning to check my ego and hit hybrid off the tee on tight holes has really helped me. Love WOTP
Golf Sidekick, greetings from Massachusetts! My mental game on course used to be the biggest detriment to my game. I used to beat myself up inside from hitting what I thought were poor shots. After watching many of your videos, I've embraced the way of the playa. I've been enjoying my rounds thoroughly thanks to the many things I've learned from your videos. I've separated the playing box and the thinking box so I'm able to break free mentally for my swing. I was shooting in the 90's and sometimes 100. Now after some range session and a new attitude (again thanks so much) I was able to piece together 3 great rounds in a row including an all time best. I bought me some super sweet swag from your shop to support you! Thanks again! - Bryan G.
Wuddup Playa!! I need to share my recent success with you bro! I've played for 20 years and I would rarely break 90. I was super frustrated because I can strike the ball really well. During quarantine I did 2 things: practice my putting and watched your videos. My last 5 rounds are 86, 87, 87, 85, and I just shot 83 today. I really love your enthusiasm and attitude on the course- it's helped me manage my expectations, and I now congratulate myself for my game rather than beat myself up because I didn't birdie every hole . I can hear your voice in my head each time I setup over a shot and think through my approach- making sure to play away from danger. Thanks for being a cool-ass dude. You the man playa!!!
Hi... I like your video and your approach. I am hosting a airbnb for golf playas.. do you want to try.? I will host you for free and we will enjoy our nice courses. I am living in Vietnam, Nha Trang.. The Kn paradise links is top 15 in all Asia..a wonderfull course..and there are much more in Vietnam..
Playa. Love it. Great stuff. Have brought handicap down to mid teens since beginning of year. Never realized how much course management played a role. Greetings from Atlanta, GA USA
The biggest change I recently made was numerating my good/acceptable shots, instead of the one that were lesser. To that end, yesterday I teed off, skirted the tree line I was actually aiming down to cut the dog leg short, and ended up directly on the bend with a clear view of the green. Which I promptly took my 7 iron off to the left. But, I have noticed immediate results with that simple change. Focus on the good.
For me, it's chipping that will improve my scores. Cutting out lost balls will save a few strokes (keep the ball in play). Reducing 3 -putts might save a few strokes. However, if a mid to high handicapper is not hitting greens in regulation, then it's important to chip and putt instead of chip and 2 putts, or 2 chips and 2 putts.
Matt you're changing people's lives here, we all love golf because it's like life, the ball only goes where you hit it. "stop and think for 10 seconds" is wisdom of the ages stuff. kudos from a 10 handicap old guy in florida, i can see shooting my age in my future.
Your videos made me love golf again. Shaving shots and having a blast, nothing better. Also J-Bone you're an absolute beast, greatest success story I've ever seen
This is the best golf page out there. You are changing the way I think about my rounds of golf completely. I am a low handicapper. Best round ever is 66. I’ve shot 69 3 other times but I haven’t done that in 4 years. Now I shoot around 73-78 and my goal is to break 72. Playing stress free golf and committing to shots is so simple yet I needed to hear you say it in order to actually realize I don’t do it.
Pulled together an 88 today after a horrible front nine just keeping calm, and keeping my head in place like a true baus, with methods you teach. Had a 6 hole stretch at even par down the stretch with a birdie sprinkled in that saved my cheeks. above my average but proud of my mental game. like you said, those fighting pars feel better than any eagle I've ever made.
Wow J- MAC has really improved so much it’s inspiring! I’ve been playing seriously for about 2 years and have gone from 115 to 87 at my best. Consistently shooting 92-95 from the back tees at my club. Want to make the next step. These videos help me so much
So I'm not sure what the length is off the back tees at your club, and I'm not sure how many teeing options there are there, but TYPICALLY if you shoot between 92-95, you should not be playing the back tees at nearly any course. Even if you are a long hitter, your score tells me that you aren't very accurate. Moving up a tee would allow you club down one or two clubs, which would help you be more accurate and play within your game. Now, I know your first thought is, "I should be able to play wherever the hell I want to play," but the real consequence of playing further back is that by hitting longer clubs, you're more likely to miss more fairways and greens causing you to take more shots, and you're more likely to lose balls, both of which add time to your round. You're actually holding other groups behind you up. With guys, it's an ego thing. Check your ego at the first tee, and play within your game. As you practice and get your scores consistently into the 80's, then it would be a good time to move back a tee.
That's awesome dude, but STOP playing off the tips. It will not serve you in the long run. I'm fortunate to play with terrific golfers (I'm not one of them) regularly and I'd also say: "Why don't we play the tips". One of my best pals (who's a +2) said: "Why would I do that if I'm not in a tournament? Playing off the tips doesn't allow for me to practice my short game nearly as much. And you definitely shouldn't be playing off the tips, it'll only lead to you getting frustrated with your game" which made/makes complete sense. Play off the whites and you'll have a lot more opportunity to use your wedges, get good with them/around the greens, which will lower your scores over time regardless of which tees you play over time.
First time I played 18 holes and it feels like a marathon. I am really impressed by your playingstyle and I am constantly improving because of your videos. I've discovered a wonderful hobby. Thank you alot!
Broke 100 for the first time this weekend after starting golfing just over a year ago (and watching your videos all that time), and shot a 95! Was the best putting I have ever had, so might have to get to the next level by spending a little more time on the practice greens! Maybe the Playa-In-Chief knows what he's talking about?
This video reminded me on my next round I'm probably gonna move up to a shorter tee box. I don't drive it that far and currently trying to fix some stuff in my swing. I'm just gonna go play a round, take a shorter tee box and just have fun. I can usually hit my mid irons and wedges alright but I struggle a bit in the longer clubs.
I’ve been watching your videos for years, I remember watching this when you first posted it and was around an 18 handicap at the time. You are spot on in your advice, course management and stress free shot selection are absolutely crucial. With your help I’ve been able to lower my handicap to 6.7, never taken a lesson. Cheers mate!!
Started playing November 2020 First game i played shot 100 then it was like 5 or 6 120s .I shoot low and mid 80s now 81 being my recent. My approach to get better was from Ts to greens . Even though the majority of my strokes from each hole came from 3 and 4 putts and terrible chips. It was easier to forget bad short shots if i hit a great 1st &2nd shot . Now ive started working on short game and have no problem keeping my strokes down.
Mate, this is an awesome video! For a high hcp-er this info is very practical and realistic. Quality stuff! Also keep the on-course videos going. They are easily the funnier of the two.
Based on this video I think I have to focus on: - Pre-shot routine and assessment - Avoid smashing the hell out of it (my male parts will not get bigger with longer shots) - Commitment. Pure, absolute commitment to the shot I’ve visualized - Accept the outcome and move on the the next shot. Like the PIC says, “your next shot can be the best shot of your life”. Great video Matt. Watched it three time already.
I had a lesson the other day and to my surprise I was told that mechanically my swing was fine, I was standing over the ball too long. I was averaging mid eighties and once I got a routine and could trust my shot I was shooting high seventies. A good routine does wonders for the golf shot
Work on chipping. You have no idea how many strokes it can save you per round because you don't have to chip twice on a hole, and you're chipping close enough to one putt. You also need to practice it each time you play because every course's greens and grass are different affect not only the way the wedge contacts the ball, but the roll-out as well.
Thank you very much. I just didn't "get" the psychological aspect of the scoring system as a higher-handicapper (~ 17 - 20) & older golfer (mid-50s). This is very liberating and encouraging. I need not look at these longer par 4s and 5s that I'm playing as stagnant and failures. I'm really playing to a +1 or +2 on every hole due to my particular game and handicap. Makes the thought process much more enjoyable, and opens up much more feelings of success now. I am really looking forward to playing again. (I may also look into investing in more modern game-improvement irons and hybrid clubs. Mine are Ping cavity back knock-offs from the mid-1990s, Goldsmith XPC 2000s).
Thank you for making your vids. I have been playing for about 4 months now and have gone from hitting 120 to around 98. A lot of it is thanks to you. Much more work to go!
I've been playing golf now on and off for 2 years. I find as long as I play a club down from what I think I should use or could use, and give it medium power and don't crush the ball I get a better score. Whether this is leading to a more accurate shot or as you said leaving a little extra distance to the green for myself I don't know, but it improves my game. Even off the tee, I have even started experimenting and can sometimes shape my shots drawing or fading when needed now. The game has definitely changed and I have started to enjoy it a lot
This year is dialing in my chipping and pitching. Keeping stats for years now, it's a must improve area to get lower scores. My up and down percentage is like 25% on avg. Not good enough at all.
I’m in JM’s boat. Bought the pro version of my Callaway irons on a whim and do not get the forgiveness I need. Being fitted for game improvers will help me massively
I have been watching your videos for a couple months and I have learned some great things. 1. Learn your club distances 2. Play the tees you are comfortable with, you don't have to play the same tees the whole round. 3. You're paying for the round of golf, not a tournament, play two balls if time allows. 4. Set up for the next shot 5. You can always improve. 6. BE A BAUS!
I agree with this approach (which is not important because I am a 115/18 hack and just started a yr ago.) I get my swing advice from ONE source, so I follow that to pretty decent effect for a noob. However, this mental approach is a fantastic adder to how I should THINK about the game. Kudos x 10! Subscribed and I will be back with results.
This course looks amazing. If you ever need an 8 handicap player that was ~22 handicap last year, let me know, I can travel wherever you need me. 😁 Love these videos. I especially appreciate the insight on the mental side of the game. Has definitely helped me improve my game and decision making.
I have gone from sub-80s to mid-80s this year, so the WOTP has been working. But when you've been below 80, it's tough to see five or six strokes added. I returned to the mindset a bit while focusing more on my putting and shot 77, last week. Continued commitment to each shot along with more consistent putting will improve my score.
@@waltoopoyndeaux4199 i loved it! Pops (12-14 handicap) and I got paired with another duo so i was a little rattled and felt embarrassed about my play, shot like 120 hahah. But it's addicting, peaceful, and i cant wait to go again! Appreciate you asking
@@jackson5290 trust me man 120 for your first 18 is not bad i started playing this year and just shot a 53 today so improvement will come forsure but its slow and takes practice/time
I really like watching your videos, i feel like your just a REALLY good guy that i would love to play with, even tho i really suck.. But i absolutely love golf and will never turm down a tee time lol
Watching all the Golf sidekick videos will get me to the next level. Your videos have easily cut 10 strokes off my game. I am on the verge of consistently breaking 90 everytime out.
Because of you, I bought a bucket hat!! 😂 I love your videos!! I went to the range today. I saw one of your videos where you mentioned working on clubs that hit certain distances and mastering those. I think after a couple more trips to the range, I’m hitting up a course. Thank you for these videos!!
You've been my sidekick for 4 months now and I've shaved 5 shots off my game (now a 14 handicapper). From watching your videos, I've improved my short game and course management. Thanks for all you do! I have a question about golf balls. But first, a little about my game so you can understand my mechanics: 58 years old | 14 handicap Driver: 260 - 290 yds | 3 hybrid: 210 yds 4 iron: 190 yds | 5 rion: 180 | 6 iron: 170 | 7 iron: 160 | 8 iron: 150 | 9 iron: 135 - 140 I use a Wilson golf ball, $10 for 24 balls (42 cents each). I normally lose 1 to 3 balls a round, sometimes none. Do you think moving to a higher quality ball would be worth it? I am thinking about trying a higher quality ball for a month to see if it impacts anything. Thoughts?
The Wilson 50 elites aren't bad balls. I have a box of those for tight courses and my regular is calloway superhot 70 like the feel. And titleist proo v1 when found and after the rejoicing I use them.
So many wardrobe changes! Love the videos! Keep them coming. I only play once a week but I always check out one of your vids the night before to get my head in the right space. Down 1 handicap stroke so far, but working on getting down 4 more by the end of the season.
How i would love to play on grass like you have there, we have just been informed that pick and place is in operation because of the state of the fairways at our course. not good at all.
I normally shoot in the low 100’s, but after following Golf Sidekick’s whaddaplaya philosophy for about 30 days, I was able to break 100 as well as 90, all in one week (shot a 93 then an 86 on my home track) bringing my handicap down from a 29.8 to a 23.5 in 30 days. Trust; believe; do playya!
You're right, when you loose it because of a bad hole, it takes over of your focus... Will follow your instructions on next round. Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽.
Im confident that with with proper course management, i can get into the 70's (currently a low 90's golfer) in no time. I'll have to wait till july to play again tho.
I really needed this video after my round yesterday! I started golfing in May this year but just have high expectations, and yesterday I did not make them by a distance. When I looked back at my card however, I noticed that I felt terrible before I played terrible. From there it just spiraled, this video was the kindest slap in the face I’ve had and I needed it!
Truly sensational videos. Has improved enjoyment on the course tenfold. You could turn your channel into a 18 credit philosophy course called, “The way of the playa”.
Great video! Can see the work that went into it. Also, very informative. I have just started seriously playing a few months ago. Last time I played was 2008 when I was only 14 years old, never took it seriously. Playing for my first ever handicap. 99, 96, 96 are my first three scores on my home course. Didn't expect to break 100 already but putting a lot of things you are explaining into practice makes a difference.
Great video! So glad to see J-Dog improve is game in such short time! I've broken 90 a few times this year all due to many of the tips you give on your channel and it has made playing golf so much fun for me now. I hope to break 80 at least once by the end of the year.
I'm a low 90s player. I played a front 9 at 40 the other day and didn't know I was doing well until the turn. Once I new I was going for an 80 I lost my mind and ended with a 98 lol. I love this game Best advice I have for pitching is be confident and follow through. Practice chipping and putting, driving is only 16 swings. Irons is the rest.
I have been watching J-Mac's journey with you since he started trying to break 120 two years ago. I was in the same boat back then (bought my clubs in August 2018) and have tried to use all the suggestions you have given him during that time. (I even bought a couple of your shirts). Sadly, 109 rounds of golf and 25000 range balls later my handicap is currently 24.5 and I break 90 only 8-10 percent of the time. Improvement for sure but nothing like J-Mac's progress. I keep statistics for every round so I can identify trends - good and bad. It's hard to identify any one single problem since something different seems to go wrong and raise my scores on any given day. Some days it's bad driving. Other days it's bad putting and/or chipping. Still others it's too many penalty shots or duffed fairway/approach shots and this is in spite of all my practice and play. That said, if I have to pick one thing to improve that will affect my scores the most, I'd pick driving. An errant drive immediately creates a scrambling scenario and additional, unnecessary pressure. Bad drives at the start of a round and I can be 10 over after 4 holes (or worse). When I do break 90 it's because everything seems to fall into place, including being able to hit 55-70 percent fairways with my driver. When I don't break 100, I have any number of problems but I also hit only 25-40 percent of the fairways. I have to confess I played better a year ago when more strictly following the "way of the playa" and leaving my driver in the bag while teeing off with my 7 iron if I had to. Unfortunately I found myself unable to compete with my friends who constantly had me at a disadvantage because they could hit a driver so much better and further than I could so I began obsessively practicing with my driver on the range trying to catch up. I think that may be costing me now. Although I do have days where I drive great (55-70% fairways) I still have many more days where she betrays me no matter how much I practice. I would probably score better driving with a hybrid or iron but my ego and frustration at slow improvement keeps me from playing that smart. In my defense I'm 69 years old and not nearly as athletic as you and your posse. Is this sad story worth a divot tool? 😥
@@RJMConsultingCDOs Not sure I like being compared to a 13 year old girl but maybe she has invested the equivalent of 109 rounds plus 25000 range balls so as to make it appropriate.
What will get me to the next level? Commitment, period. I have been playing golf for 13 years, since I was three years old. I'm now a 5 handicap, and my best rounds come when I play relaxed, committed golf. Matt is so right, commitment is key. If you think "don't hit it right," or "this club always goes right" then that's exactly where you are going to hit the ball. If you say in your head "I'm going to hit the fairway," or "This IS the right club," then you will find so much success. Thanks for the great videos Matt, keep up the good work.
Probably won't get me a gold tool but I was amazed at everyone's ability to change clothes between shots so quickly. I thought I was watching 9 holes on same day when you started. Got our hats and tools this week and now I am the playa.
A rubber on the pencil would get me to the next level, and the feather divot tool, of course! But to be honest, I need to work on my short game much more, as I'm pretty much on J-Macs level. I hit my driver pretty straight, around 250 yards, my iron game is very good, but when I miss a green, it's a bogey most of the time. When I would be able to play good rounds, even though my long game is not great that day, it would get me to the next level. I'm currently a 9 handicap, would love to shoot 70s more consistently.
Nice video; I will say the fairways at this course are very wide you are lucky! Most courses I play have very narrow holes where it is easy to be out of the fairway
As I've gotten older and have had some distance come off my shots, to get me to the next level I feel I need to incorporate hybrids into my game. This will allow me to make up some distance from my 2nd shot and this will allow me to stop trying to crush the driver which inevitably leads me to pushing my driver to the right.
I have to admit, since I found this channel a few weeks ago it's really caused me to shift my mental approach to how I interpret not only my own shots but even the shots of others. Including the guys here in the videos. As someone who is overly analytical, I always see a broad range of options in everything I do golf and otherwise. I realized that in golf I was carrying my best results around as the expectation which is unrealistic. Especially after long layoffs. I've had birdies and even an eagle or two even though I'm a high handicapper, but the expectation of those results does not equate to the mean of my current skill level and practice level. By backing off that outlook and approach to the game and seeing bogey golf as perfectly fine, even the expectation, errant shots don't bother me as much as they used to. If anything I'm taking the errant shots as lessons for what I should be doing at the driving range and on the chipping area instead of just seeing how far past 300 I can send my driver. So this is really just a long winded way of saying thank you for bringing this mindset to my game. With so many clubs in my bag, adding the right mindset & expectations is by far the best thing I've added to my bag and to my game in almost 15 years of on and off playing.
Something that will get me to the next level is when I’m on the tee box I will look for a spot on the fair way and say that’s my mark hit there u can do and that gives me a 100% commitment shot that I need. Also I have to work in my putting to become a boss like u and get it within a foot every-time and then I believe I can finally brake 80 for the 1st time. Love the vids btw helped me a lot
Another awesome video.! Your way of explaining the mental approach is revolutionary and I can’t wait to get back to the course to put it into practice.
I just finally got my handicap below a one it’s a .8 (shot my best round 69 on par 72) yesterday. Definitely have learned it’s hugely about mindset once you get into that single digit handicap. That and course management combined with a solid swing can bring some great scores. Love the no thoughts in swing box strategy.
I just love your outlook on golf. I'm just trying to have fun and I don't keep up with my score right now. Until the end of the round. I'm shooting 100-120s.

I am a member of Vinpearl golf Nha Trang, Vietnam
Playa. Love it. Great stuff. Have brought handicap down to mid teens since beginning of year. Never realized how much course management played a role. Greetings from Atlanta, GA USA
This is the best video yet my good my man. Loved it!
Shot ten over on Friday. All that got me there was confidence in putting. 5 under for my handicap, thank you Matt!
5 under his handicap. This man is baus
Golf Sidekick it’s honestly thanks to this channel. Golf is a major chill day out now. Chill=more birdski’s
The tempo of You’re 54 wedge is insanely relaxing to watch. Poetry in motion my friend
NEEKS
Which two?
Based on this video I think I have to focus on:
- Pre-shot routine and assessment
- Avoid smashing the hell out of it (my male parts will not get bigger with longer shots)
- Commitment. Pure, absolute commitment to the shot I’ve visualized
- Accept the outcome and move on the the next shot.
Love the videos, using your advice, I've been shooting low 80's... Knocking on the 70's 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for making your vids. I have been playing for about 4 months now and have gone from hitting 120 to around 98. A lot of it is thanks to you. Much more work to go!
Thanks playa thats a great job, next step 90
Keep going playa!
I always find it entertaining to watch videos of people that are WILDLY better than I am as if I could compare to their skill level.
This year is dialing in my chipping and pitching. Keeping stats for years now, it's a must improve area to get lower scores. My up and down percentage is like 25% on avg. Not good enough at all.
Had to send this to all my friends !! We tend to beat ourselves up after the 3rd bad shot !!
I’m in JM’s boat. Bought the pro version of my Callaway irons on a whim and do not get the forgiveness I need. Being fitted for game improvers will help me massively
Slowly phasing my Callaway Pros back into the bag for some distance control issues from the Game Improvement Irons (Combo Set is the way forward!)
Your voice is so different when you are commentating than when you are playing. Love these videos.
This channel is the #1 golf channel on TH-cam right now. Great edits, humor, and education all in one. Long time sub right here 😁
Wadda baus
That's why it won Mr. Shortgame's viewer competition - beating the mighty Rick Shiels in the final round!
I have been watching your videos for a couple months and I have learned some great things.
1. Learn your club distances
2. Play the tees you are comfortable with, you don't have to play the same tees the whole round.
3. You're paying for the round of golf, not a tournament, play two balls if time allows.
4. Set up for the next shot
5. You can always improve.
6. BE A BAUS!
7. Attain enlightenment
This is so great dude. Belief is so important and underrated. Not bullshitting yourself, but belief in knowing what you can and can’t do
Listening to u break everything down makes me feel so much better about my performance and the holes that I messed up
I agree with this approach (which is not important because I am a 115/18 hack and just started a yr ago.)
I get my swing advice from ONE source, so I follow that to pretty decent effect for a noob. However, this mental approach is a fantastic adder to how I should THINK about the game. Kudos x 10!
Subscribed and I will be back with results.
Welcome playa. 🙏
This course looks amazing. If you ever need an 8 handicap player that was ~22 handicap last year, let me know, I can travel wherever you need me. 😁
Love these videos. I especially appreciate the insight on the mental side of the game. Has definitely helped me improve my game and decision making.
These videos r so relaxing I always watch them before bed
I have gone from sub-80s to mid-80s this year, so the WOTP has been working. But when you've been below 80, it's tough to see five or six strokes added. I returned to the mindset a bit while focusing more on my putting and shot 77, last week. Continued commitment to each shot along with more consistent putting will improve my score.
Im playing my first 18 holes ever in about 3 hours. This was just what i needed 🙏
How'd you like it?
@@waltoopoyndeaux4199 i loved it! Pops (12-14 handicap) and I got paired with another duo so i was a little rattled and felt embarrassed about my play, shot like 120 hahah. But it's addicting, peaceful, and i cant wait to go again! Appreciate you asking
@@jackson5290 trust me man 120 for your first 18 is not bad i started playing this year and just shot a 53 today so improvement will come forsure but its slow and takes practice/time
@@vdiddystudios8043 thanks I appreciate that! only up from here (hopefully) right? :)
Confidence in my wedges will elevate my game to the next level. Too many times I stand over a ball
The worst part of my game is my approach. Too many times I just strike the ball flat and send it over the other side of the green
There is some seriously good information here. Awesome video guys!
Great video. Love the idea of good putting reducing the pressure on chip shots and back to the longer shots. Makes so much sense.
Filter back in the bag always works
My favorite sidekick video! Thats me shooting 90's, 80's coming soon. Falling in love with the game again. Whaddalife. Thank you Matt!
I love your videos!! I went to the range today. I saw one of your videos where you mentioned working on clubs that hit certain distances and mastering those. I think after a couple more trips to the range, I’m hitting up a course. Thank you for these videos!!
Long story short: Bought a new set of clubs and got back into golf after 4years from watching your channel. Thanks Playa, enjoying it once again!
You've been my sidekick for 4 months now and I've shaved 5 shots off my game (now a 14 handicapper). From watching your videos, I've improved my short game and course management. Thanks for all you do!
I have a question about golf balls. But first, a little about my game so you can understand my mechanics:
58 years old
| 14 handicap
Driver: 260 - 290 yds
| 3 hybrid: 210 yds
4 iron: 190 yds | 5 rion: 180 | 6 iron: 170 | 7 iron: 160 | 8 iron: 150 | 9 iron: 135 - 140
I use a Wilson golf ball, $10 for 24 balls (42 cents each).
Titlest pro V1
these videos are exquisite. I'm addicted! I been practicing my driver at the range and soon to hit a full courseI cannot wait!
Watching old Golf Sidekick video’s you’ve seen several times before is dope…✊🏻
Haven’t seen this one since the summer of 89’
So many wardrobe changes!
Your writing has also improved. I don't take for granted the time and attention you place on that aspect of your videos. Well done my man. Mucho bueno
Thanks playa you the baus
I normally shoot in the low 100’s, but after following Golf Sidekick’s whaddaplaya philosophy for about 30 days, I was able to break 100 as well as 90, all in one week (shot a 93 then an 86 on my home track) bringing my handicap down from a 29.8 to a 23.5 in 30 days. Trust; believe; do playya!
Need more Jmac last year felt we were on the same level. To see his progress from last year alone is super motivating!
Thanks Brad. I'll have words with the main buas.
I appreciate your positivity! I'm seeing so much more in different places (not a coincidence). Good vibes to you!
Awesome listening about the mental aspect for each level. Definitely notice my scores going down now that I’m 100% committing to shots
What will get me to the next level? Continuing to watch these videos!
Great vid, beautifully explains the mindset of golf. Will be using this asap
Thanks playa, will plant you some feathers to hopefully get you under 80.
i wish this kind of stuff was on youtube about 10-15 years ago. Just simple great insight.
Thank you for these videos man. I usually shoot 90-94 and i shot an 80 because I focused on my putting and confidence on approaches. Keep it up!
Golf is fun, if you let it be, I equate to BDog very well, love the strategies without the swing analysis.
great video and love all the wardrobe changes during the round!
How often did you change your outfits? Can we win anything when noticing? :)))
I'm a low 90s player. I played a front 9 at 40 the other day and didn't know I was doing well until the turn. Once I new I was going for an 80 I lost my mind and ended with a 98 lol. I love this game
Best advice I have for pitching is be confident and follow through. Practice chipping and putting, driving is only 16 swings. Irons is the rest.
The lightning strike at 20:06 exactly when J-Bone made his par putt was seriously Baus
I can’t wait to play such a beautiful course!
@@RJMConsultingCDOs Always been a fan of OMP. Inspirational for us seniors. He hasn't been around as much as he used to be. I hope he is OK.
Great video and really good information. Thank you for sharing.
Just found your content this morning. Enjoy thoroughly. Best wishes from the States
Pretty Great Video to put yourself in the Golfers Situation & ask yourself WHAT you would do in Each Situation.

I watches this whole thing and listened to all commentary.. instant subscribe
Playa, I’ve been following you for two years and shot my best score 87 a few weeks ago! The Way of tha Playa, is legit! Thanks Playa!
Nice video; I will say the fairways at this course are very wide you are lucky! Most courses I play have very narrow holes where it is easy to be out of the fairway
paspallum grass, bunkers, water and length. These are defenses of the courses. Every course has different defences. This course eats people alive.
man... playing a round of golf with you would be the funnest time. Love your vids! thanks again for all the tips!!
Definitely gave me some things to think about during my game. Thank you!
How many days do you shoot to get these videos? Or...once I noticed different shirts on people I could not ignore it.
I just love your outlook on golf. I'm just trying to have fun and I don't keep up with my score right now. Until the end of the round. I'm shooting 100-120s.
thats the way and then, the score gets lower and you get more fun
@@GolfSidekick I've only been playing for 8 months so I'm not to worried. :)
Great vid again Matt. Cutting out the 3 putts and continuing to watch the Playa In Chief will get me to the next level
