This is so true about black people coming from World War and still being treated like nothing. I just watched a WW1 and WW2 documentaries and black soldiers were sent to France to help fight the Germans and they were treated with so much respect, they thought it was unbelievable, because French people treated them so good and back in the USA they were descriminated.

I'm from the Netherlands in Europe and i remember my grandfather telling me these stories from WW2, and a few times he talked about the time our city was liberated and he remembered these 4 tall black men from the American army. They were treated like royalty, got gifts and were invited to eat dinner at the house and stuff like that and he remembered them being so stunned and surprised. They said they would never get treated like that back in their own country. One of them said in his own country he was nt allowed to do certain things that white people did, and my grandfather remembered his mother grabbing the black man's hand and padded it and said: " Mister... you men risked your own lives for people you do not know, people you don't owe anything to, people that have the same color as the ones who mistreat you in your own country, but know that me and my family are grateful and you will forever be welcome here and always will be a part of my family and i love you like a son no matter what color, for the courage and bravery you showed and that you helped liberate us. " The black man broke down in tears because he never thought he would hear those kind of words coming from a white person. My grandfather keeps telling that story everytime someone asks him about WW2 and gets emotional, he is in his 90's now, he was a kid back then. After the war they sadly never seen or heared the men again, and never knew what had become of them.

I'm from the Netherlands in Europe and i remember my grandfather telling me these stories from WW2, and a few times he talked about the time our city was liberated and he remembered these 4 tall black men from the American army.
They were treated like royalty, got gifts and were invited to eat dinner at the house and stuff like that and he remembered them being so stunned and surprised. They said they would never get treated like that back in their own country.
One of them said in his own country he was nt allowed to do certain things that white people did, and my grandfather remembered his mother grabbing the black man's hand and padded it and said: " Mister... you men risked your own lives for people you do not know, people you don't owe anything to, people that have the same color as the ones who mistreat you in your own country, but know that me and my family are grateful and you will forever be welcome here and always will be a part of my family and i love you like a son no matter what color, for the courage and bravery you showed and that you helped liberate us. "
