Good interview ikhwan, baarak Allahu feekuma. I do have to say though: if you really believe the kulliyyah will determine whether youre going to be a serious taalib, I'm afraid you haven't really understood talab al-'ilm and how one can be a serious student.

Wafeekum barakAllah. Definitely, we definitely saw duds in the faculty with us. Sh Abdullah can testify to that fact inshaAllah. But Alhamdulillah, that’s not the message here. Message is this will be a great means to create a student of knowledge InshaAllah, diamonds in the rough type concept. I believe we discussed this at length in our earlier podcasts.

Barakallahu feek, that wasn't the intention, and I don't believe neither of us mentioned that, but the point was that it does bring the best out of you, which Kuliyah you are in. A simple example that myself and my beloved brother Sh Farhan witnessed and many other is that in the Faculty of Hadeeth there would be a handful of teachers that would be very strick towards us and how much of a work load, essays, research and random exams they would throw at us, on the contrary to the other Faculties they would be very easy going and lenient with those students and several times we questioned the teachers and they responded along the lines
كيف يتساهل مع طالبفي الكلية الحديث !؟
      ان أردتم الراحة فغير الكلية
How can one be easy with a student in the Faculty of Hadeeth,
If you want ease and relaxation (in terms of work load etc) then change the faculty.
Without a doubt, the faculty has an impact on a student
In Hadeeth, you are expected to memorise 150 ahdadeeth a semester( 3 months), the whole chain of narration, etc, and other Faculties it 20 odd, so ahadeeth a semester!
      Like........
I hope this makes sense in terms of the point that was mentioned
      Barakallahu feek
Of course, tawfeeq is from Allah.
May Allah grant us all beneficial knowledge!
