I not too long ago got the Nero 5 & the Orbit 4 for my 75 gallon, way over kill but I like the fact I can run these powerheads at under 35% & still have enough flow & the ability to just turn them up for when I start getting sps frags to "colonies"... I love them. Coming from a manual button to these app controllable/programmable powerheads is a big upgrade
I replaced 3 nero 5s with the 4k gyre. In my long shallow lagoon tank and love it. I was amazed to see just how much detritus got swept off of the sand bed when I fired up the orbit that the nero's we're leaving behind
The Orbit 4 and the Icecap 4k gyre are more or less the same. I have both blades and cages swap. If you want a gyre that is the bees knees then Maxspect is still the king. Their motor block has the quickest speed setting at .5. Orbit and 4k icecap are limited to 2 second. Maxspect takes Pulse mode to another level.
I just added two Orbit 4's to my Red Sea Reefer 1000. These are in addition to the two Nero 7's that were already in place. Even though AI says they are rated for up to 120 gallons, they seem to be performing very well. I'm gonna kick myself if they come out with an "Orbit 6" any time soon though lol.
The orbit matches the maxspect jump series 308 and 316 in size and watts. So flow rates should be 2,113 US Gal/H for the orbit 2, and 4,227 US Gal/H for the orbit 4.
You forgot to add, maybe intentional or not, but reverse only works (properly) when you alternate the blades. By default the Orbit does not come with additional blades say like the Maxspect series. Even Icecap comes with additional blades. In short reverse out of the box with blades facing forward is more or less not effective or efficient. However if you have spare blades, or two Orbits, you can swap out blades to get one facing forward the other side reverse, and now you are moving water in both directions when reverse or anti-sync is enabled. Surprised you didn't mention this.
the biggest turn off for me with my nero was that if you have the fish guard on, you cannot angle the pump. straight flow or nothing. i wish AI would just ditch the honey comb back so it didn't need a fish guard AND you could angle the flow.

going for flat design for small tank. low profile is great looking.

I saw nothing in the documentation about needing to swap blades to enable reverse mode.

Shiny TH-cam studios lol wow
与red sea wave没有任务区别,都是maxspect代工的,但是Ai blade没有在中国销售,我比较遗憾,Ai的灯还是很好的
