    I'm impressed! I love my Nero 3 I'm using in my RS170. When I step up to the big leagues This and MP40/60's will be on my list.

    • @TreasureCorals

      @@jessepeach9716 congrats, it is a great little powerhead. I would definitely get two of those for an sps tank to get a bit more randomness.

    Beautiful tank Dmitry. I have 4 MP40s on my Acropora tank and I'm thinking of switching to these. I don't care for the wire, but it would beat falling wetsides from the MP40s which is always an issue. Another very nice positive is the ability to angle the Nero 7. That's something the MP40 can't do and I could run all of these on the back wall at different angles.

    I love your videos and tanks. I believe that the 0.51 inch measurement is in reference to the width of the external magnet. They just didnt use indicator brackets. It is a confusing diagram.

    I'm currently deciding between two of these or two MP40s. For the difference in price, do you think these are a good option for a 105 gallon tank?

      Oh my, I think it will come down to your cord and how you like to run them. I'm a HUGE fan of the Nero 7, they've been a big and only source of flow in my five footer

    What mounts are you using for your AIs there ? I see you’ve moved on from the provided mounts - was salt creep an issue or were they simply too low ?

    • @TreasureCorals
      @TreasureCorals  ปีที่แล้ว

      Neither, I wanted to try something different where the fixture would just float over water, plus since this was a five footer there was a big of a sagging to the led light which was less than optimal. So here I'm just re-using my Hydra 64HD mounts and it seems to work quite well

      I'm thinking about nero 7s instead of going mp60s, less than half the price. What I did is buy a vectra l2 for my cade 2100, this means that if I lose power I have flow not just in my display but also through my sump, which means better oxygen and also that I won't lose life in my sump. Great powerheads, I am running 6 of them in my 250 g tank. If you have small fish, using the fishguard is a must. Without fishguard these powerheads are fish killers.

      @@TreasureCorals Well, 1) for some reason AI offers the "Fish Guard" :-) 2) Some talk about even healthy Tangs that got killed (which I doubt, unless they were very young). But I am almost sure that some fish like Labroides dimidiatus, other wrasses, Chromis and invertebrats like snails and shrimps can get sucked in.

      @@TreasureCorals yeah the only ones I have worry about are my return pumps now

    • @bitcoinsig
      @bitcoinsig ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TreasureCorals no, the problem is that an AC pump is mains voltage and not electrically isolated like a DC pump is because of the power transformer. This is a problem for spinning devices because you eventually end up with friction wear that will form cracks in the housing and eventually the mains voltage will be in your water. This could lead to a main voltage short, and either way there is no regulation of current to something that is simply plugged into your mains electrical via a plug and no "brick". AC shorting in your water will use all available power available to it via your AC breaker, if you have a 50 amp circuit, there is little to stop a short from really ruining your day. A DC pump is electrically isolated from these problems since it's using a transformer and there is a voltage regulator, it can only short as much current as can go through the power brick,which maybe 1-2 amps.

      @TreasureCorals  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vascojardim6703 very familiar with Abe and his awesome channel. Are you suggesting a wave box AND a Nero? what's the rationale?

    • @vascojardim6703
      @vascojardim6703 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TreasureCorals Precisely! The wave motion will not interfere (to a degree) with the flow pattern of the Nero. The Nero would still push water from one end of the tank to the other while the Wavebox provides the gentle rocking motion that allows for the suspending of detritus in the water column and the gentle say of the polips of corals. The only issue is that the wavebox is not “silent”, given the way it operates. There is a BRSTv video where they clearly show the noise it makes. There is a 2021 article from Vincent Chalias in Reef Builders also talking about the same. I believe for LPS corals it would be awesome
