First of all George Karl was a terrible defensive coach so he can criticize Melo all he wants but he needs to look in the mirror. Also, Melo didnt exactly have a choice in the matter about his father. He died. Thirdly, there are WAY more people who have negative experiences with Karl as a coach than Melo or KMart as players. (See Ray Allen).

Classic case of old white guy taking credit for things people of color were actually responsible for, not to mention that they were able to do those things in spite of him doing everything he could to muck it up.
Honestly, go back and watch his OOB plays and late game scenarios to see what kind of game knowledge he actually had, especially on defensive coverages and gameplanning. Coaching only on offense is flashy, showy, and lazy. Might make some fans, but it doesn't win titles. Obviously.

Obviously george was working against him. I always Thought Karl was holding the team back but now I know. Karl is full of his self. So for those teams to get that far under a man that despises them. Karl is right about melo not being able to share the spot light....thats why linsanity came to an abrupt end no matter what anybody says and its why Mike D'Antoni left I assume he knew these issues with melo were insurmountable.melo showed he only cared about winning if he was in the spot light.the fact that melo is glib about it shows that he is a narcissist who cant take any criticism.he could have said i was young and searched himself and said maybe some of that is true.they had a great chance to beat the lakers one of those years.they had a deep bench they were all playing great and you see melo all of a sudden try to guard kobe why? He didnt commit to being a good defender but now you want to guard kobe in a heated playoff battle.ill tell ya why if somebody had come in and done a good job on kobe they would have been in the spotlight.another reason they lost was melo taking bad shots when other guys were hot again because he couldnt share the spot light.and george has every right to call him out because it could have been a ring if melo could have checked his ego at the door and hustled on defense and allowd other guys to shine

I don't get it. Some help me understand. We are so touchy nowadays. It makes me want to puke. #1. George wrote his thoughts, the same thing that other players would've done. #2. With the exception of George's comments about their father(Out of bounds), he spoke the truth about Melo. Melo has to accept that. Whenever some says something about me, i try to lean to the mature side of me & ask the question, " Is that true?" before going further. Notice, i made the remark that i "try" to lean to the mature side. Like others, i can let my emotions lead me down a path of immaturity. #3. At the end of the day, it doesn't affect your bottom line. Respond if choose, but, listen, no one is thinking about George Carl's book. I am sure it is not a best seller or award winning book. ESPECIALLY in the day & age we live in where "opinion is king of the blogosphere" these should treat this like a tweet. People talk about it today and dont care tomorrow. It doesnt affect your bottom line any. When asked about this, they collectively should have responded " i dont care" when dont put wood in the fire, eventually it dies..
