In all of my years of gymnastics watching, this is my favorite floor routine. She is unmatched in her delightful combination of grace and power. LOVE this routine!
No one will ever have this kind of routine, no one! This is the most amazing one I've ever seen and it truly proves that Andreea is best gymnast ever! When she retired gymnastics honestly wasn't the same. Croatia loves her!
every time i see this routine it gives me goosebumps ... i can watch this so many times and every time it feels like the first ... amazing ... andreea was just brilliant
Andreea Raducan is amazing in gymnastics and what's also amazing is that she was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2018 for her country.
Just breathtaking-the choreography, and her execution of it is just wonderful. Brings a lump to your throat, it really does. And Bart was right-"At last, a Romanian who can dance".
@@florinpetrescu809 But in the Silivas era the Romanians overall had a reputation for being very artistic and many of them were. In fact the entire 70s and 80s, both the big stars like Silivas, Commaneci, Szabo, Dobre, Eberle, Ungureanu, Agache, Pauca, but also the others on the squads too. Raducan stands out since she was the only Romanian from 90 onwards who was artistic at all.
I'm very glad that you love Silivas; she was the best floor worker to grace gymnastics (imo). However, I think you're wrong about Raducan. She is graceful and has beautiful dance and AMAZINGLY clean tumbling.
@zazezul Actually, this commentator is not the NBC one (Tim Daggett). This is Bart Conner, who just happens to sound a lot like Daggett. Bart is actually a really fair commentator who, unlike Tim, does not favour the Americans only. I think he is really just comparing Raducan to some of her comtemporaries like Amanar and Gogean who were renowned for their stoic exercises.
Raducan was graceful and powerful. I loved watching her perform. There is another young Romanian gymnast who I found on youtube that reminds me of Raducan and I think she will be amazing when she hits senior age. Her name is Diana Bulimar (type her name in) and I just finished watching her FX at the Romanian Nationals and she reminds me so much of Raducan. She is only 12 (i think??) but she looks very promising.
Jordyn Wieber dances??? Mmm ok.... Whatever...Raducan totally deserves this gold!!! Her tumblings and landings are amazing... More than 10 years next..some gymnastics can do this just like they have to do...
Loved this routine way more than her 2000 one. The choreo and dance really fit the music here whereas her Riverdance routine didn't really have much stylistic moves to the music.
@Darkangel127 But they were all pre-Raducan--WELL pre-Raducan. It's like saying Romanians and bars--Nadia scored her first Olympic 10 on bars but by the new millennium, Romania had given up on bars. Likewise by the new millennium Romanians were not known for their dance.
she fell because they already told her about taking the medal for dopping. how do you think she could feel and compete in those circumstances? could anyone?
@gary79 I really like some of the americans... like carly, nastia, shaw (robot but i love her), courtney kupets, sacramone... they are all awsome... but at the artistic part they are still behind these other countries... im not figthing.... but its just different ways to see or appreciate gym, happy new year
@NYCBlonde i`m sorry if I offended you but this person who is alwas at NBC transmission seems to not know at all about gymnastics... there is other videos that he says somethings really weird... ok... but yes, the romenians are really known for theire dances such as russians and chinese... exemple of good romenian dancers that you can watch here: - Nadia Comaneci - Catalina Ponor - Izbasa - Oana Ban - Andreea Rad - Cristina Bontas and others. the artistic work in romanian gymnastics is notable
Sabrina, Vega, Aleah and Sarah Finnegan, Courtney McCool, Terin Humphrey, etc... pretty much most of the GAGE gymnasts. Their coach and choreographer Armine Barutyan is great! Give her any gymnast and she will make her a world class gymnast.
Beautiful routine. I just had to watch it again and post another remark on here. Does anyone know who the arrogant commentator is with his stupid remarks about how it is good to see a "romanian who can dance"?? Perhaps he was an intern and hasn't followed the history of gymnastics or something because this guy obviously doesn't know what he is talking about.
I mostly agree with your point (i.e., there are plenty of Americans that can dance), but since when do you consider Shannon Miller, Nastia Liukin, McKayla Maroney, etc. to be NOT top gymnasts? In fact, all of those gymnasts have been selected to an Olympic or a Worlds team (Finnegan as alternate).
Well, yes Wieber dances.... but when you have for 3 years the same music....i guess you can know every second of the routine.... and im very like usa gymnastics (Liukin, Johnson, Sacramone, Ohashi)...the thing is that i hate the gymnastics when they dont are artistics....sorry my english....
I think it is a little bit of exageration with this lack of dancing about Romanians. There are the ones you named who can dance. Then, there are also Dobre, Voinea, Sofronie, maybe some others I don't remember now. If you look of other countries gymnasts, you wont find alot of good dancers either (except for Ukraine).
Hence why i said ' i know we can call it anything'.... This video is not the best example of his incompetence, but there are plenty, Seriously, you had no need to respond to what I wrote.
just as a general comment, i don't think charisma or a bright personality should be mistaken for dance ability (as in oana ban and jiang yuyuan's case).
@zazezul - you can take Comaneci,Ban and Bontas off that list....none were renowned for their 'dance work' on floor....I know, shock horror about Nadia but in comparison to the soviets @ the time she wasnt in their class on dance artistry on the floor exercise!
He really doesnt though, I know we can call it anything really, but a 'layout double' (this is one small example) it is not, it is a double straight, a double straightback, a double layout, a double laid out somersault etc, not a 'layout double'
@gary79 Comaneci didnt had a good dance work on floor 1974... O.o (WHAT?) Oana ban 2004 and the crowd... (fx team final) what was that ?? she had everybody in her hand.... and the judges were boood by the audience... Bontas ok... i dont really like her but the most artistic schools in gymnastics are : top 3 (not in order) chinese, russian and romanian... all the others are a waaaayyy behind of these countries... ex 2008: Anna Pavlova fx AA final - Jiang Yuyuan fx AA - Izbaza EF FX
But it's true the non-dancing Romanians was a real problem in 1997-1998...! (The ITC in 1997was simply painful to watch...) Hope he was not refering to Dobre and Silivas, but to the last generation!
Without me having to "name call" back at you, his name is BART Connor NOT BRAT Connor. Perhaps you should check your spelling and grammar before you decide to call people names in the future.
I hate seeing things against American gymnasts, purely for their nationality, but we see SO much American footage on here that it creates anti-American sentiments.... Elfi in particular, the commentary is so biased and anti-everyone else that I think it gets everyone elses backs up... Thats just my opinion to you as a non-American and I thought you may be interested to have it explained......
@zazezul Don't be defensive. He's comparing Raducan with Romanians who are not known for their dance. American commentators certainly do not pull their punches when it comes to Americans who are not known for their dance. Don't be defensive.
This was what gymnastics should be now...hard tumbling..actual dance...fits the music and just a great overall presentation
Really excellent technique. Very polished yet dynamic. At her peak, she really didn't put a foot wrong. So impressive
Andreea Raducan is amazing in gymnastics and what's also amazing is that she was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2018 for her country.
I love this floor routine. I can't believe this was 10 years ago already. Hasn't gotten old. :)
Beautiful combo of style, artistry, and athelicism! One of my favorite FXs!! Congratulations Andrea! You are wonderful!!!!!
This was absolutely fabulous. Amazing choreo, great (and clean) tumbling, and that charisma it takes to pull off a great floor routine.
Beautiful coordination between exercice and dance congratulations Andreea
Just breathtaking-the choreography, and her execution of it is just wonderful. Brings a lump to your throat, it really does. And Bart was right-"At last, a Romanian who can dance".
You forget about Silivas .Andrea here is amazing , but imagine Silivas with her ballet dancing skills, dancing on this music
@@florinpetrescu809 But in the Silivas era the Romanians overall had a reputation for being very artistic and many of them were. Andreea is one of my favorites gymnasts in FX, because of her beautiful dance skills and her amazing tumbling ;)
Khorkina had the dance and Amanar the tumbling, and Raducan had both.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this routine!
this routine was off the chain, after this i was the biggest raducan fan ever!!!!!
wow this is AMAZING!!!! i like this even better than her 2000 fx routine, which i also loved
Mult mi-a placut solul ei. A simtit muzica si linia nemaipomenita cap coada. Nu ma plictisesc sa revad acest sol. Bravooo👍😘
Andreea raducan
Is my favorite Romania 🇷🇴 gymnast
She is a very graceful dancer!
@zazezul yeah, it would be just as rare to see an American present a routine of this level of artistic quality!
I love this routine, but my favourite one is Sydney 2000. Best floor routine EVER !
Best Romanian floor routine (although I loved Marinescu's in 95 and 96) since the late 80's by far!
woooooow
beautiful floor routine, tumbling and dance to the music
Superba !❤ Andreea Raducan❤ Felicitari !❤ Minunata gimnastă!❤ Bravo !❤
I'm very glad that you love Silivas; she was the best floor worker to grace gymnastics (imo). However, I think you're wrong about Raducan. She is graceful and has beautiful dance and AMAZINGLY clean tumbling.

she really rocked this out!!!
she has a really good flow to this routine . not the slightest bit generic .
you deserve a medal for incredible comments.. you are just the ultimate symbol of intelligence, honesty and fair play.. and much more..
Awesome! No wonder she won AA Sydney 2000!
Jordyn Wieber dances??? Mmm ok....

i love her leo! it's simple, has a tasteful cut, good colors, pretty neckline, and fits her style perfectly!
what a beautiful routine... no wonder she won the olympics in the year to follow... no matter what
she´s the best!
Absolute perfection.
i love the dance at 1:04
refreshing to see a romanian who can dance he said 😂
She's the only Romanian I've seen who can dance (aside from Ponor and Silivas)
I forgot how old TH-cam is, kind of weird how old the comments are, but this was very interesting
True, how true, but the Romanians in this era were particularly robotic. Milo, Amanar and especially Gogean spring to mind immediately
.
well done
All Românian can dance on The flour routines!
Wow! I mean what can't she do!
Beautiful
Je crois que je ne m'en lasserai jamais !!
i'm with you
Lovely routine!
As for the comment, I think it might make the top 10 most idiotic...
@Darkangel127 But they were all pre-Raducan--WELL pre-Raducan. It's like saying Romanians and bars--Nadia scored her first Olympic 10 on bars but by the new millennium, Romania had given up on bars. Likewise by the new millennium Romanians were not known for their dance.
you are totally right...i don't agree with the 2nd best thing tho...but i'm a big fan of hers so i guess that's just my opinion
What did she score on this routine?
I realize it was about 20 years ago so it was a totally different code of points but I'm just curious.
a romeninan who can dance.....
because the americans certainly can !!
like shawn robot....carly robot, all robot robot
or memel etc....
@zazezul nice comment =)))))

happy new year
Agreed - though her 2000 music is better.
Most GAGE gymnasts dance rather well (see Terin Humphrey, Courtney McCool, Sarah Finnegan).
Brandy Johnson was also a good dancer for her genre of routines.
I cannot find this music
@NYCBlonde i`m sorry if I offended you but this person who is alwas at NBC transmission seems to not know at all about gymnastics... there is other videos that he says somethings really weird... ok...

Wish they'd bring back necklines like that on leos
What's this music? It sounds familiar.
Way better than Amanar or Olaru!
Sere Powell it was Bart Connor.
@msms68 Sure, she got gold !
Why she changed the music and choreo to less-beautiful celtic music and choreo...
Sabrina Vega, Mckayla Maroney, many promising juniors.

Just to clarify, Jordyn had the same music for two years, not three. Which is very common for a gymnast.
What place did she get here?
1st place.
He really doesnt though, I know we can call it anything really, but a 'layout double' (this is one small example) it is not, it is a double straight, a double straightback, a double layout, a double laid out somersault etc, not a 'layout double'

One of the few Romanian gymnasts that actually deserved her medals!
or Aly Raisbot
@caroly1928 Las Carretas del Rocio
@sochisochi it sounds more spanish,,,,:P
Silvas can dance bart
Oh really... Bart O'Connor - the American gymnast that she married. Well I hope Nadia has taught him some manners.
did she medal
She sure did. She won the gold here.

Lucien Dy Tioco Mary Lou Retton could.
yyes but not
in the all around
Ugly dance and choreo? I could blame on Mariana Bitang for that. She was in charge of that.
