2011 Championship of Dirk was impressive especially the road that he went thru to make it to the NBA Finals
Dirk and kg faces off in a 4-5 matchup in 2002 before dirks true prime and in the middle of kgs peak. Dirk still slapped him and swept him. The teams weren't too far apart and noone predicted a sweep. In fact lots picked the wolves because dirk still had the "soft" label on him. Then dirk didnt miss a shot the whole series despite kgs "incredible" defense that apparently makes him better than dirk lol

Not necessarily. That was the lockout shortened season if I'm not mistaken. So Butler technically played about half the year

It was simply because the '05 Cba was expiring and there was a stalemate over division of the NBA's basketball-related income (this was the biggest reason. both sides felt they deserved more of the revenue) salary cap structure, and luxury tax proposals between NBA team owners and players

Latrell Sprewell spent his last 2 seasons in Minnesota where he shot just about 40% from the field on 15 and 12 shots per game in the those first and second seasons respectively. He also had a negative defensive box +/- for those 2 years. He was a talented player, but in terms of adding wins, he wasn’t doing that in Minnesota

This just isn’t true, outside of KG stint in Boston, it’s laughable to compare the Talent Kg played with to Dirk. He had two years with Steph when they both were young and then his MVP season with Two aging star players. Dirk played with Nash, Finley, Jamison, Antoine Walker, Nick Van exel, Josh Howard, Jerry stack house, Jet all while he was at different points in his prime.

Dirk's playoff performance in 2011 will go down as one of the most dominant Superstar performances ever. Everyone on the team was either a role player or past their prime. While Dirk may be less physically talented than Garnett and may be a lesser "all around" talent, his career looks better because he did it the hard way.
Dirk run in 2011 was more like Eli Man big run in the superbowls. Dirk was amazing but they got super hot at the right time. Because they beat a really young thunder team, the lakers was basically done, and they beat a blazers team who best player was constantly injured. Then you beat Lebron and the heat, very impressive but cmon Lebron threw that series. I’m from Dallas so I saw first hand the Mavs choking live. 06 and 07 were just ass.

Let’s not forget that Dallas ran the “flow” offense. Which really if no plays at all.

The ref that went to prison for fixing games said that series was compromised and it looked like it too. Dirk is super clutch as well. 1 of 4 players to avg 10 points in the 4th quarter of the finals. Also in select company of players to avg 25PPG and 10 REB in their playoff careers. Dirks early years team was completely catered to his style with a coach in don nelson that was also a perfect fit. Dirk always had amazing pieces until after the 2011 finals when they were disbanded.
Caron Butler WAS the second best player on that team. As a Dallas fan who watched EVERY game, Butler was the guy when Dirk went down until Butler went down too

1. 1997 He faced the Rockets- Hakeem Drexler and Barkley. They were older but better than the T Wolves and young KG.
2. 98 he faced the Sonics - 61-21 record Gary Payton and Baker -2 all stars
3. 1999- LOST to the Spurs. I don’t need to go into details. It’s the freaking Spurs.
4. 2000- Trail Blazers 59-23 season Rasheed wallace Pippen Damon stoudamire. This team Lost to lakers in the western conference finals
5. 2001- lost to the Spurs
6. 2002- Mavs/ great team 60-22 record nash Dirk Michael Finley. 2 all stars . This team Lost to the Spurs
7. 2003- Lakers
8. 2004 finally made it to the conference finals and lost to the lakers

Jason Kidd and Jason Terry weren’t in their Prime in 2011 if we are being honest. Kidd was out the door and was 37… Jason terry was on the decline … but had a great playoff. The only player in their prime was Tyson Chandler …. That entire 2011 core was in their 30s… Dirk just went Tf off that entire playoff run. They all did honestly
