There is nothing quite like the M2 .50, been around since the 30's? And is still going strong. You have to love Browning, he knew what he was doing! Oh and the 12.7x99(.50cal) round helps a ton!
he's a genius look at almost all of the modern pistol designs. they all got Browning style locking lugs, like those in a 1911. look at the FN MAG or FN M240. it's basically an upside down Browning Automatic Rifle. look at FN. their early notable men were apprentices of John Browning. one of them finished the Browning's Hi-Power design, and also designed the FAL.
@DRAC250 actually the reciprocating barrel is for the cycling. works similarly to brownings handgun design. the barrel and bolt travel a short distance together, then the bolt unlocks from the barrel and continues moving after the barrel has stopped... just another form of delayed blowback.
yup but remember it only takes one on the top of a humvee to take out that technical of the gunners on the top of that building .... its a scary thing when two of those things get to fighting against each other
The M2 is classified as a heavy machine gun not a GENERAL PURPOSE Machine Gun, or GPMG. GPMG's are generally medium machineguns. The US military machine gun inventory for non-aviation use generally consists of the M249 as an LMG or SAW, the M240 as the GPMG or medium machine gun, and the M2 and Mk19 as heavy machine guns
Because when he loaded it, the round is not ready to be stripped. He loads it in just one clik. First he advances it once then the next time, he strips it off the belt and loads it. Kinda like a safety measure.
91 years old and still kicks ass...holder of 2nd place for longest service weapon......fyi the browning M2 is just a brown M1919 but instead of .30-06 its a .50bmg
The M2 fires the .50 BMG round (12.7x99mm NATO) ware as the Desert Eagle fires the 50. AE round (12.7x33mm) so both rounds are .50 cal but one of them needs to fit in the grip of a pistol and so is a third as long, and packs about a third of the charge. hope that helps.
@makarthamin To conclude, most of M2HB used today are modern productions, you will see older models in rich country only from 1950-1960 as a maximum, and poor countries using old WW2 era and before models. In this aspect, Colt 1911A1 used today are real challenger, being manufactured in 1920-1945 period. Same for bolt actions, all mauser, mosin, enfield still used today are 1900-1945 weapons
when i see that arm pulling those links in, i think of my mom when i was younger. she used to grab me by the hair and yank me in the door and this is early similar but oddly attractive
Ya I know! Sure the other gun can change into a grenade launcher but there's still the simple fact that even though this gun is over 80 years old..it still works.
M249 is American and is based on the FN Minimi. The M249 is basically a Minimi but just a little bigger and is made in the US. So it is kinda mixed between American and Beligian. There are just many variants like the M249 para. Other guns like M240 and MG4 are spin offs of M249 and the Minimi made in different countries.
@AddictedToPS3 Ragitsu says 'virtually' infinite because you probably aren't going to have more than a few thousand rounds of ammo on you in any practical situation, and you also cant fire constantly for more than, I'd guess 10 seconds or so without overheating the gun enough to damage it.
@gustgriswold Yes, although you could argue that the M2 is the longest....all depends how you want to argue...if it's comparing the longest serving "action" (how the gun operates, Mr Browning's orginial M1917 design) the M2 wins....if you wanna argue the longest serving "model" it would be the M1911 hands down...You could also argue that the 1911 still hasn't left service, since it still is used by the US military forces (although not standard issue).
@DRAC250 i never understood one thing but you sound smart and i wanna ask you why the hell do some guns' barrels go back into the gun kinda like this one is it to increase accuracy? reduce recoil?
Let's see- 1 .50 BMG cartridge= $5 21 4-6 shot burst 105x5= About $525 gone in 2 minutes. Wow. I bet it's worth it though. By the way, most people don't know this, but Browning guns are all manufactuered and sold by FN Herstal, the same company that made the F2000, MKk.17 (Scar), FAL, MAG(M240), Minimi(M249) and P-90.
@makarthamin Sorry, i see some dozen of weapons made before M2 that are still used nowadays, like all sort of pistols and revolvers, bolt actions like mosin nagant, enfield and mausers, still going strong in all war in the world including irak, afghanistan, all sort of guerrilas in asia, africa and america; A considerable number of 1897 shotguns are still used, and a lot of others, Anyway, M2 as wee call it now is the M2HB model, in service scince 1933 not 1921,20 or 19.
There is nothing quite like the M2 .50, been around since the 30's? And is still going strong. You have to love Browning, he knew what he was doing! Oh and the 12.7x99(.50cal) round helps a ton!

103 years and still a workhorse of our military and others abroad, Bless John Moses Browning.
That gun pumping the music makes it seem like some 80's porn!
Ive watched so many of these videos I can understand what hes saying now.
I love the music :)
A "classic" design that stayed modern through the tests of time. A masterpiece of a machine gun. Love it. :)
The muzzle flash on that beast really actually lives up to the expectations action movies put up.
Shooting a 50 cal at someone is like shooting a brick at 2,910 feet per second. That's why we love them :D
HAHA 0:04 Mag Capacity: INFINITE XD
Well yeah
Hell yeah
This gun kicked ass on Rambo 4.
Jeez, the Ma-Deuce is a serious piece of hardware . . . and that .50 BMG is one bastard of a round.
I love all of these uploads. I feel like a third world dictator on a shopping spree.
@GrandtheftLOL
It's beltfed, thus it doesn't use a "magazine".
It fires as long as there is ammo to feed through the belt
Lmfao I love how the ammo capacity says infinite.
Magazine capacity : Unlimited. Happiness is a belt fed weapon.
great videos!!
@DRAC250 actually the reciprocating barrel is for the cycling. works similarly to brownings handgun design. the barrel and bolt travel a short distance together, then the bolt unlocks from the barrel and continues moving after the barrel has stopped... just another form of delayed blowback.
“Machine gun! It’s a machine gun!!”
yup but remember it only takes one on the top of a humvee to take out that technical of the gunners on the top of that building .... its a scary thing when two of those things get to fighting against each other
If you can link enough belts of ammunition together, it's *virtually* infinite.
One word description for anything shooting .50BMG= Beastly
@Steve Hammond good for you, keep up the good work
Don't forget about the 1911A1! Which comes in second with 74 years in service!
according to my research a brand new one is billed to the military for over 14 thousand
its general purpose machinegun:p. the saw(fn minimi) is a lmg, the m60 and m240(fnmag) are gpmg's, the m2 hb is a heavy maschinegun.
It shure makes all the right sounds.
Amazing that this was designed during WW1.
This video should've been called
"Man fires M2 While I Play Unfitting Music"
When Ma Deuce speaks, everybody listens.
That shooter guy has the best job in the world.
The M2 is classified as a heavy machine gun not a GENERAL PURPOSE Machine Gun, or GPMG. GPMG's are generally medium machineguns. lol. finally someone else who knows what a "ma-Deuce" is!
Big gun! Big Bullet!
beautiful gun!
91 years old and still kicks ass...holder of 2nd place for longest service weapon......fyi the browning M2 is just a brown M1919 but instead of .30-06 its a .50bmg
やはりこのBGMよ
What a beast!
look at all those flying grass lol
The M249 is the american designation for the Minimi LMG made by FN of Belgium. Same with the M240, that is another Belgian gun known as the FN MAG.
I bet those .50 call bullets have a big smile while they fly towards the target
I'm liking that Infiniti on the mag size.
I can help it, but the porn music and the Barrel spurting out smoke reminds me of a man's barrel "FAP FAP FAP".
@TechnoFox69 Actually it can on a belt feed gun you can infinitely hook belts together.
@1337ballsofsteel Yeah, the Browning M2 fires the .50BMG round. And the Browning M1919 fires the .30 caliber.

I shall be that guy.
I shall be the guy who says ",Wikipedia brought me here."
And you shall all hate me for it.
I need one on top of my roof to fence off all the zombies....
yeeee 5/5 stars nr1 off top 10 machine guns
I love the sound at 1:13 to 1:25!!!
i absolutely LOVED firing that weapon
WOO wut a rush
Thank you John M. Browning for your gift to man!!
That is a beautiful thing
Yes, we are buying a lot of things from the Belgians now. They are making our M16s now.
Pull the charging handle back and slide the shell in the bolt and there you go, it doesn't need a magazine.
This weapon was specifically designed to combat those that made you angry.
the ammo capacity is technically infinite lol
There's a difference between unlimited and infinite!
@zacdrury no
it feeds from a magazine
not a belt
Ah yes, the most common .50 cal MG in the western world. These are even used on Canadian armoured vehicles.
An oldie but a goodie.
when i see that arm pulling those links in, i think of my mom when i was younger. she used to grab me by the hair and yank me in the door and this is early similar but oddly attractive
I feel like movie star Dirty Harold!
that one will scare the birds away in my yard
Ahhhh loook at those bullets feeding...oooooo i gata go change my shorts
I am 54 years old and have not played a video game since pong.
Ya I know! Sure the other gun can change into a grenade launcher but there's still the simple fact that even though this gun is over 80 years old..it still works.

so beautiful ;-;
Gunporn at it´s finest
UKM (- -!) Ultimate Killing Machine !
When it's automatic .. the sound like engine is running ! Lol !
The air cavitation alone will knock the target down.
@rassi13 actually, if you have the prohibited class on your licence....
I never knew the shells were ejected out the bottom
love it. corny music but what great idea!
Keep pressing 2 "Thank you" :D
How big do the ammo belts typically get?
@gustgriswold Yes, although you could argue that the M2 is the longest....all depends how you want to argue...if it's comparing the longest serving "action" (how the gun operates, Mr Browning's orginial M1917 design) the M2 wins....if you wanna argue the longest serving "model" it would be the M1911 hands down...You could also argue that the 1911 still hasn't left service, since it still is used by the US military forces (although not standard issue).
I wish I could've given you more thimbs up for that comment. Oooh I miss my Ma Deuce days
I think that one looks quite like an SA 80, but quite a bit bigger
@DRAC250 i never understood one thing but you sound smart and i wanna ask you why the hell do some guns' barrels go back into the gun kinda like this one is it to increase accuracy? reduce recoil?
@intwernet
Got one at the gun show not too long ago for $3. Pretty easy to find in the States.
best machine gun ever
I love the thump thump thump, only if its firing away from me.
Its a Browning model hell yeah
Let's see-
1 .50 BMG cartridge= $5
21 4-6 shot burst
105x5= About $525 gone in 2 minutes. Wow. I bet it's worth it though.

How many shots can this fire before the barrel overheats?
it's a nice!
1:35-1:59 is mesmerizing...

Its so tempting to see what would happen if chuck norris stood in front of that. o.o
M2♪♪♪
@LWRCftw do you have any idea how hard somebody is trained in the military?
@Umimugo * attached two M2 HMGs together, placed on tripod and dual wielding it *
@vendetta9876
links that hold the bullets , you can see them when the belt is still intact.
Magazine capacity cannot be infinity!
@keithbontrager bullets grow on trees in japan apparently...
