Cantilever Gate Opener Hack! Automatic Gate opener.

This video shows how I used a Chamberlain garage door opener and modified it to use as a Sliding Gate opener. I built this in 2017 and it has worked very well. Two reasons for having the gate are to keep the dog off the highway and to keep people from turning at our driveway. They think it is the turn for the county road down another 100 yards. All together I had around $2000.00 into all of it. 300 into the opener, 700 for the rollers, and 500 in the tubing and welding. The posts and concrete probably were another 500. One note of caution, with the eyes bypassed you don't have much for safety. I did turn down the downforce, so it is pretty low. Plus, I tend to be in view of the gate when I am closing it.
