  • My thoughts on Resident Evil 4 Remake and why the details matter. I have a feeling that a lot of people don't realize how much was changed from the original and while a lot of those changes were for the better, some made it an entirely different experience, and not in a good way. Watch the video to draw your own conclusions!

it just feels incomplete to analyze leon's characterization in re4r without acknowledging what he went through in re2r. i believe tht's what Capcom was trying to do, their showing human side of these characters going through such traumatic event and its very in the nose in this remake. unlike the OG re4 which just kinda ignores what the character went through in OG re2, yeah he's cool but he feels like a different person from the previous title.

The only thing Salazar and Saddler truly lacked in my opinion, was screen time.

I think even if most people don't agree with my opinions on the characterization, it's just a solid fact that they had no stage presence throughout the entirety of Remake.

    • @masterpiece8846
      @masterpiece8846 ปีที่แล้ว

Both should have had more screen time but in different ways. Salazar should have been more present as he was in the original, physically showing himself to mock Leon, but Saddler should gotten only slightly more screen time, staying as a mysterious and ominous figure, his increased screen time should have come from Leon’s Visions and Saddler’s hive mind communication. Saddler is much more powerful in this remake, every physical he makes should express this power. The developers have done Salazar slightly dirty, but they gotten Saddler mostly right.

Las plagas is not a virus, it's a parasite. The preassure, in my opinion, is actually a lot greater in the remake, the segment where Ashley realised Leon is also infected and Leon told her she could not run from the situation is a great example.
Salazar and Saddler are improved from a narrative stand point, their characters are darker, more dangerous and have a lot more depth to them - if you read the files, that is. Even other enemies, such as el gigante, garrador, novistador and verdugo have a detailed background that gives you a new perspective on their existence and motives.
I think Salazar could, and should indeed, appear more, be a constant presence looking over your shoulder. But Saddler, I actually enjoyed - given how powerfull he is, it doesnt make sense for you to see him in numerous ocasions and not be dead or fully controled (he can accelerate the parasite development). Saddler's powers are greatly shown in the remake, the guy could control the entire world (las plagas can even hatch in birds) and the boss fight is much better. Even the scale of it, shows how much of a threat he really is. There has been nothing like him so far.
Leon was great, Ashley and Luis are greatly improved as characters. Ada was worse than the original, in my opinion - hope the dlc makes up for it. Krauser was amazing. Salazar could be better and Saddler was also very good from my perspective.
The original will always be available for those who didn't like the remake (the hd mod is phenomenal), but for me they did a great job.
For context, I loved the original. In a single typewritter slot of my ps2 memory card I completed the game 147 times. The total number should be close to 200 playthroughs in the ps2 alone... I also played a lot in PC. Not a speedrunner, just a fan. I will aways love the original, but this remake was amazing as well.

What I don't like is that the new version of Saddler actually believes the religious bullshit he's spouting. In the original he was a con man that was using the cult as a means to gain power. He also kept his cool despite Leon thwarting his plans at every turn. Now he just rambles about absolution and God and and screams a lot.

Not only can we actually see the visual effects of the parasite in Leon and Ashley, but the fact they receive the visions of Saddler which shows how linked and they really are. Not only that, but we audibly get to understand it with period coughing and pausing from both characters. Not only that, but the Red Cultists can directly influence Leon and Ashley as he chants showing that if they don’t move fast, their heads could be bursting too. So many cool details in cutscenes and gameplay yet this dude claims the plaga isn’t prominent. I guess he really wanted to see Leon choke Ada

    • @kevinrubio6033

I guess some people have there preference 🤷🏻‍♂️ the problem is that you have a side that wants the same exact thing practically as original game and then you have a side that doesn’t if you get exactly like you want from the original people will be saying oh Capcom didn’t do their best. They literally just copied it and updated the graphics that’s it. They didn’t do anything else but then if you do change it up a little bit. People like this guy on TH-cam will have a somewhat alarming opinion about the game and not be satisfied. People always have something to say no matter what you do in life. I think the game is a masterpiece. I believe Capcom really took their time and I believe they also learned from resident evil 3. Let’s be honest resident evil 4 is the hottest game around better than 3 and a bit better than 2 however, resident evil 2 is a good game as well.
Only Thing Re 4 needs to have is at least a 4th place to fight in mercenaries. They also need Ada, Wesker and Separate Ways just like the original however different levels of course and Wesker Voice needs to kinda change 😬 I’m trying to work with Ada’s at least

I truly couldn't disagree more. I really enjoyed the emotional character brought to Leon this time around. He is clearly not the badass that he was in the original, and he's dealing with severe ptsd, and that seems intentional. Plagas felt more dangerous to me in the remake, the black goo that was given to Ashley, I legitimately was wondering how the eff we were going to make it in time to save her, and the way the character model subtly changes depending on how far you are through the story was a neat touch. I'm glad it tried to do it's own thing rather than just being a carbon copy of the original.

The obvious beginning, Leon saying to Ada that he’s changed, and at the end where he says to himself “This time… it has to be different”, there are many more smaller details of him being traumatized but they just didn’t make it a focal point of the story, which I like. It’s not like Resident Evil 3 Remake where they show Jill being traumatized in the beginning, and then they further tried to express this by making her some omega badass “strong” female who can walk on her own, which only made her look like an asshole, a far cry from the same person who was nice

I think how they showed ashley and leon being affected by las plagas in the remake was better than the original. Throughout the game you can hear Saddler trying to take over your mind and force Leon to join the hive. The part in the castle where Ashley runs away actually makes sense now because she wasnt being a spoiled brat, she was scared she was going to hurt Leon. I agree about the Ada part, if that part and where Ashley got violent were in the remake, it wouldve been a great way to show that both of them were succumbing to las plagas. However, when both Leon and Ashley react to it outside of cutscenes (even if it was just coughing) and how saddler could just paralyze leon with a flick of the wrist made it better imo. Even the part where leon has to carry Ashley to Luis’ lab and (i assume) get saved by Ada after he passes out while trying to cure Ashley was great… i already know Ada’s story is gonna be dlc (which is stupid but every company wants as much money as they can squeeze out of us now) but i have the feeling she’ll interact with leon’s campaign more.

I like this Leon. He feels more consistent with the RE2 remake Leon. The original came was a campy, over-the-top cheesy action horror game. As such Leon was created to be a campy, cheesy action hero and it was awesome. The original RE4 Leon felt like a character who, after all his training and missions, was so over BOWS and mad scientist. It was just another day. This Leon feels like a character who, despite all his training and missions, still understands that what he sees is still horrific. A Leon who still understands that is willing to sympathize more with a character like Ashley. I'm sure this Ashley heard the stories about Racoon City but she didn't get a taste of what happened. Leon did so he's going to treat Ashley more gently knowing she's going through what he did in Racoon city for the first time. Not to mention his interactions with someone like Sherry Birkin who, like Ashley, became the unwilling pawn infected for the ambitions of madmen. Both Leon's are still veteran badass characters but each fits more with the tone and style of story they are a part of.

Honestly feel like the only valid argument was the BGM.
El Gigante > view the file inside his cage, the villagers could not sustain him. He was rampant, but the castellans came down to lull el gigante to slumber and thats why the red castallen awakes el gigante.
Leon not being sassy and cocky > he has severe PTSD and doesnt assume his experience makes him a complete badass. He was a survivor, he survives. He doesnt go in knowing he can kill everything.
The devil is in the details > so how did Salazar jack the line? An old castallen with almost no technological prowess hacks into Leons comms.. the details in the remake make sense, weather started interrupting, getting further into the area and being more remote. Tell me exactly where Salazar got the experience to "jack lines" and we can talk about details. Salazar still speaks through the little speakers and you can shoot them, yet the details are missing? Seems like you want to hate this game.

"the knife was only useful when you were out of bullets"
You didn't play RE4 in professional a lot don't you?
The knife was a way of finishing enemies in the ground, if they were alone and not accompanied, you could start swinging away up close, try hitting them in the head. And then stun them again. The knife was ESSENTIAL in professional. Now its always important.,
by different approach you mean they made an actual sequel to 2? That leon isn't a funny action hero and instead a more experience ex rookie cop that tries to smile at danger but even he knows things are fucked up? yeah, if that's what you meant, yeah, it's an actual sequel instead of a complete new series.
This is something people don't understand capcom is trying to do. RE4 and its sequels created a rift. Capcom tought at that time, RE4 was the right call, More focus on action, less focus on horror, so each sequel kept amping up action, and dialing down horror. In reality RE7 demonstrated later you can put horror in a RE game and sell. And RE2 Remake demonstrated you can also have action in your survival horror. What capcom has been trying to do since 2 is trying to refine the best of both worlds. Trying to unite both playerbases under the same fanbase.
And RE4 Remake EXCELS at this. not only it expands Luis and Ashley, Leon feels like the same character we met at 2.
I will make a wild guess.
You met this series at 4? If that's the case, i hit the jackpot.
I met this series at 1, and i appreciate both games, but it's the same series, And RE4 Leon wasn't 2 Leon, The tone had nothing to do with the previous games (RE1 doesn't count the funny factor was unintentional, remake got rid of that) While the combat felt like an evolution of the series, the dialog felt out of place. it was intentionally taking itself in joke. there are things i felt could have been in the remake, like ashley driving the giant truck, or Leon trying to strangle Ada, other than that it's almost a flawless game.

I've got way too many hours in re4 OG since the GameCube. Yeah a couple scenes and moments may be lack luster, the model type for Salazar from the OG is preferred, the cheesy moment will be missed. The auto sort feature does take away that satisfying click, however for us old school boys we have to lose some to win some. The lore has definitely been drastically improved, from instead of simple memos which stated - Leon got out of this trap, the next trap is here let's hope it works - to actual lore into the story and character development in a newer direction, better insight to big cheese, Salazar, saddlers, plaga testing, the butler/Salazar family lore and to Krauser, especially with operation Javier (should be a dlc)
Games modernized itself in a way to suit the 'next gen' expectations, auto sort helps in certain challenges, the storage box is a god save, the ability to send items from your case, the much better map layout, everything connects not just logically, but in detail, more involvement of Luis (even though he is useless in combat aspects)
They got rid of unnecessary areas such as the lava dragon room, U3 was a great addition but just randomly placed without a build up, hopefully separate ways amounts to its involvement. The enemy behavior is spot on, sure I miss some of the og lines but overall a great job. Re4 remake isn't made to replace the game, but to bring it to the new gen table of possibilities, and compared to other remakes it wipes the floor.
Mercenaries is much better, sure the weapons aren't as satisfying and a couple models are better from the OG, Krausers voice is terrible in the remake, Ada's isn't too bad, Ashely....well Ashely is Ashley haha.
The bonus guns were a major let down, all that grind for terrible output, should've had more unlockables to give.
But they did a good job at balancing the odds and ends, saddlers wwe entrance from Mike's death is iconic. Anyways good review mate!

Luis is better has an arc, Ashley is better, also has her arc. Salazar is a matter of opinion, i like him more because he feels more threatening instead of being Leon verbal punching bag, he was too pathetic. but that's more subjective. Saddler felt like he was some mastermind with some plan bigger than life and ended up being bad guy 101. Here he's just generic master 101 but from the very beginning , doesn't pretend to be some bond 4d chess villain. I agree Krauser voice tries too hard and fail. Ada is the polar opposite, sounds bored to tears. Mendez , just like in the original, was wasted potential. In both games you expect to see him more before you end him and no, they both die near the end of the village.

    • @Venator-Predonum
      @Venator-Predonum ปีที่แล้ว +9

@@yusukeelric Yeah by all means Luis and Ashley have a better involvement, and feel more 'real' but in terms of combat Luis is terrible *gets pasted by dynamite* Luis 10 years later: "LEON WATCH OUT" haha. Unfortunately, Ashley still loves to run into bullets and get you into unnecessary situations but hey ho that's Ashley. But they definitely made her feel more alive with her environmental interactions, her comments with the dogs and first encounter with the garrador.
But yeah, where we lost some things, we gained in others. I personally enjoyed the game, it was refreshing and made me feel like that 5/6 year old playing for the first time. I miss the old merchant.
In some aspects yeah, they gave saddler that main villain 'I'm always there but not in person' vibe making feel more ominous and powerful. They displayed his power to a greater degree, instead of the Looney tunes I'll show up wherever and speak you to death, made his entrances more felt. But at the same time his OG entrances and personal involvement added more heart to his cause. Salazar should've had more of an involvement personally, but they did well with the diaries and "confessions", to sort of make up for that. Plus the Easter eggs they left in memory was a nice touch.
I do miss the radio interjections and breaking the 4th wall at times, but had to adapt and be realistic to the next gen. Solid game overall, I enjoyed getting all the trophies 👍🏽

"Mercenaries is much better" No way. The new Mercenaries mode is WAY too easy. You can easily get an S rank whereas in the original you had to earn it and you were always battling against time. I cleared the entire village map with Leon with an S+ rank and I had 4-5 minutes to spare. This NEVER happened to me in the original and I was always being pressed to find more time to raise my high score and surviving. Dont get me wrong, its a fun mode in the original but its just mindless fun. There is no actual challenge and the new special ability system makes it even more broken.

    • @Venator-Predonum
      @Venator-Predonum ปีที่แล้ว +8

@@rich_rohan The whole point of mercenaries is to 'Be that guy' feel in power from the hoards of enemies, have way more mindless fun, and blast away. I breezed past the OG mercenaries, the tank controls and laser sight is what made it a little bit of a struggle. The maps were decent on OG but less blast away fun, but a good break from the story.
Both mercenaries are easy, this one has just been enhanced. The difficulty for this games story is definitely amped on steroids, or the unfairness of preloaded bs, depending on your take. So it more than readied you for the mercenaries, making it easier.
Also, got to remember they'll be releasing more maps and additional characters, so the difficulty will be heightened. Additionally, they'll be releasing a different difficulty mode for the mercenaries, for those who want that challenge, both are great regardless!
Each to their own, both provide a nice release from the campaigns, all about the fun!

Normally love your reviews, but this one missed the mark for me. While I agree with your take on the lack of screen time for Salazar/Sadler, it just served to make them feel more mysterious and omnipotent. I played dozens of hours of RE4 as a kid and didn’t feel the same chills I did with the remake now as an adult. The remake does a solid job of returning the game to its horror roots. With the updated gameplay mechanics, Leon doesn’t have to “feel” more badass, because he’s just more badass with all the new tools at your disposal. I think kids now will be able to enjoy the remake the same way I did the original as a kid, serves its purpose in my books

Absolutely. I agree that the little details matter, but it was the biggest details that added to the remake for me. They did a fantastic job with the drops, and ammo droughts are a much bigger problem at higher difficulties. The Voice acting certainly wasn’t as iconic as the Original, but the all the added dialogue between Leon and his companions as you progress through the game make them feel so much more real, and the stakes much higher. The game also felt so much more open, I found myself running across certain sections of the game once I finally found the key I needed 2 chapters ago.

For me, I felt like the remake lacked the storytelling of the original. From the way they introduced characters, to the great cutscenes setting up the story better. Otherwise though, I loved the gameplay with the RE engine. Especially the new knife system that gives you a little more defense and cool moments. I also like the ability to craft health and ammo which was in the original RE3. I do think people giving this a 10 were hyping it up too much. I'd put it as a solid 8. Mainly because story is very important to me. And this remake lacked the attention to detail that made the original so unforgettable.

I see a lot of comments disagreeing with this video but I really do see his points. A lot of what he said stands true. The remake definitely was great, but most of his points were the small bits and pieces that made it miss perfection for me. I MAJORLY agree with how insignificant Salazar and Saddler felt as characters, and especially Ada. A lot of people bash on Ada's actress doing a poor job, but I believe she did fine. It was her character that was made poorly. She's no longer a fun playful badass, she's just a rude lady doing a shady job and being sassy (in a bad way). Another poor aspect of the remake are some gameplay mechanics, such as the lack of i-frames, and having most weapons be inaccurate. This was a HUGE downfall for me. I absolutely hate games that apply spread/bloom to your weapon's accuracy. If I'm aiming at something, it should hit there (which is why the original's lasersight was perfect). And if I'm being attacked, I shouldn't have to hope I get lucky enough to get out, I should be able to use my SKILL to get out. I felt I've rambled more so about my own issues with the game, but I do want to restate that I agree with most of this video. It's a great game, but it is NOT what I loved about OGRE4.

This isn’t a biased opinion at all. I agree in a sense that the remake has some missing heart. Although, I find everything, to even terms of combat, it is leagues above the original. Resident Evil 4 is not my first Resi game. The Original Trilogy will always be my true favorites. I’ve been on the Resident Evil 4 train, and it’s an amazing ride. Yet, to me, I’ll always see it as the beginning of the end for the franchise. Which, almost came true. The original had flavor with its campiness and over the top. It’s great, until you realize that’s what they were turning the ENTIRE series into. So, in other words I feel the remake is trying to make amends, and fix the storyline so it’s more comprehend-able. Cus the boulder punching and all of Resident Evil 6 was just silly. Resident Evil 4 is the GRANDFATHER of all third person shooters and future survival horror games (The Last Of Us). Yet the original is dated. It’s still good, yet the Remake adds fresh new garnish to the plate, and while it’s still young, it will have more DLC added. The remake does have soul, it may not have the same soul in your eyes as the original does, but the remake still has soul regardless.

I disagree about the aiming system feeling clunky and awkward in the original. Honestly if you think that of that aiming system you can't really play the first Resident Evil games which aim is quite terrible. But in the original RE 4, the aiming is actually very good and a lot more accurate than it is in the remake and doesn't really make you feel the need to walk and aim, in the remake however you feel the need to do that because the aim is a lot more imprecise, Leon's hands while aiming are a lot more shaky giving you that the last of us feeling which was done just like in that game to make you miss many shots even at close range to make the game more difficult, something that didn't happen in the original where if you were really good you could place a fatal headshot with a max upgraded pistol from several meters thanks also to the laser pointer which in the remake is also not present and can only be obtained through an upgrade... The overall gameplay in the remake while at first impact might seem more modern and better is actually only one of those things which is modern, but not quite better. More realistic doesn't mean better to me. In the remake Leon moves and runs a lot slower and has always this inertia thing that keeps you from properly start running and stop running when you decide to, which makes sure the enemies will always grab you if you are not careful. The original instead gave you a lot more control over this aspect making the game a lot more fast paced and fun to play at least for me. Leon is also slower in the remake at executing his melee moves and can hit a lot less enemies with one kick. The only real improvement of the remake gameplay was the knife parrying thing but since this makes you virtually invincible to most attacks even a chainsaw attack (which is quite laughable for a game that tries so hard to be realistic) they had to compensate by making your knife that in the original was indestructible, now quite easy to break forcing you to waste money to constantly repair it any time you see the merchant which again is quite annoying for me. So in the end no, I would say the gameplay is better and more fun in the original, the remake one is just more realistic which doesn't mean better, not for me anyway.

Because they downplay their involvement in the story and interactions with Leon. I don't give shit if I get to their boss battles. Because they don't feel like genuine characters anymore. More like checkpoint boss battles than actual villains that's supposed to be central to the plot. Hell it's even funnier that even Remake Leon doesn't even give a shit about their existence and just wants to end the mission now. If the hero doesn't feel interested in their villains..... My only problem with the remake was the time with the villains and context on why stuff happened getting taken out. I think TheActMan did a great video on the topic about this. The context for the verdugo fight as well as what happened to the other one, more time with the villains and the conversations between Ada and Krouser are missing. I don't mind auto-sort, I still prefer it over any other inventory system in any game because it feels more real. Auto-sort is convenient for people who don't want to spend time in their inventory but like the space aspect to it. I also disagree with the Crowbcat section.

Tried like two dozen times, and I always end up in the upper floor with it being packed wall to wall with ganados like it's a rave or something, and I have no bullets left. So I switched to Standard, which still felt challenging at first, but by the time I got to the castle, it started to feel like a joke...maybe it was the body armor, but I could get really sloppy and it seemed like I took hardly any damage... And then I got to the Salazar boss fight, and...WTF man. Died like a dozen times. It kind of feels like BS. Seems like it takes a lot of trial and error just to figure out how to avoid his attacks that either one-shot you or take like 90% of your health (on Standard!) and what the hell is even going on.

People may disagree all they want, but Leon's Remake character is better than the old RE4 Leon. He actually feels like a continuation of the RE2 character instead of someone different entirely, where the continuity is broken between RE2 and RE4. He's undergone special training, he's older, wiser, more confident, but still retains his emotional baseline from the RE2 remake as a happy, go-lucky rookie cop that wants to do good, and actually has some trauma from going through the hell of a zombie apocalypse, realizing there is a dark underbelly of society, and being betrayed by Ada. @@thatguybis1997 I don't really understand why. First off you don't have to use auto sort. Ever. Second off the reason you had trouble fitting items in the original is because it was way too easy. You're walking around with 34 rounds of rifle ammo, 250 tmp shots, multiple heals and all it requires is one shot to the face and a kick to down a group of enemies where you can safely knife them to death. It's no wonder it's hard to fit items. You expend so little to kill so many.
In the remake you have to expend far more resources to actually take out enemies, it's much harder to avoid damage so you heal more often and thus more empty space for items. This is absolutely true because as I've played the remake more and more and gotten better at it I find that I have a lot more trouble fitting items since I'm not using as many resources to kill groups and avoiding damage far more. It's gotten to the point where I just don't buy the bolt gun since it's too resource efficient.

I really don't agree with your issues regarding Leon's character, the Las Plagas within him and the item management. Leon may not be _as_ badass as he was in the original, but he's still given plenty of cool and dorky moments and his attitude makes a lot more sense given what he went through. The remake is going for a more serious tone, while the Leon from the original barely took Los Iluminados seriously. It would just clash too hard.
As for the Las Plagas... yeah, not sure what you are talking about. The parasites in Leon and Ashley are a constant threat throughout the game. Coughing up blood, the veins on their arms, Saddler taking direct control of Ashley, the visions Leon has, the red-robed zealots affecting Leon with their chanting and everything getting a lot worse by the end of the game.
I was also a bit annoyed at first at inventory management being replaced by the press of a button, until I realized about 5 minutes into the game that I could just... not press the button. It's completely optional for those that don't want to deal with it, are speedrunning the game or just want to get back to the action as fast as possible. I didn't use the auto-sort at all during my regular playthroughs and found the item management just as fun as in the original. The feature did come in handy when going for the S+ rank, but it's not necessary at all in the rest of the game. Purely an optional quality of life feature, so I don't have issue with it.
As for two of your other points, I do agree that Salazar and Saddler suffer a lot from screentime. Salazar especially, since his interactions with Leon made for some of the original's most memorable exchanges that could've made it into the remake in some form. In regards to Saddler, I think the issues with the original and the remake cancel each other around. He was an entertaining and memorable villain in the original, but he was also an _absolute moron._ The first thing he does upon showing up is tell Leon and Ashley his entire plan, then repeatedly refuses to just kill Leon. Remake Saddler is far more of a threat, but lost a lot of his personality in the process. He works, but I don't think he's better or worse than the original.

The biggest offence of remakes is removing and replacing content based off the supposed notion that it's dated. Keep the base intact, only then you have the right to add upon. If not, add "re-imagined" to the title because that remake is never going to live up to the original since it had no intent of being true to it in the first place.
To this day it is still baffling to me when i look at re2r and the original in comparison. How the Remake proudly rocks the re2 name despite missing a lot of content and perphaps the saddest part being, it is regarded as being a great remake.

Lol all your takes are niche nit picks centered around random 5 second out of context scenes where there’s plenty of moments spread throughout the game that defeat every argument you made, hence why you only chose ooc clips that were all about 7 seconds long

As an obsessed fan of the original. I've completely fallen in love with the remake, even moreso now with Separate Ways and the Mercenaries being completed.
Auto sort is fine and sometimes when I play the original I wish it was there, the same with the knife parry.
You left out the part where the red robed cultist is the one to awaken El Gigante with the crimson lantern, which is one of the neat reimaginings in the remake.

For me yeah I like how they bring back the survival horror genre in the recent re games. Re4 original was fun but its lacking the horror theme of resident evil and was easy. Removing the bs unbelievable actions and cheesy lines in re4 original was a good idea. I like that they did it more realistic. I haven't played re4 remake yet but seen gameplays. But I have played the re2 remake which is very good. But yeah the voice acting in re4 original was splendid compare to the remake.

🌸❤️I feel the original was quite cheesy and comical when compared to the remake. It felt more reminiscent of a poorly done action flick (though iconic).
In my humble opinion remake is by the superior job and succeeds beyond all measure in given greater depth to the world/characters.
I would utter of Saddler, that in the original, that he felt more akin to a Saturday Cartoon villain than an actual menace. Remake for me flushed out his character and the Plaga far better.❤️🌸

Not really. I played the original after the remake and still had a better experience. Better voice acting, villains portrayed better, better environments. The only thing lacking really, was the gameplay.

I mean, you think Ashley from the original had better voice then new one no and they actually use spain Spanish then Mexican Spanish for the ganados leon actually sounds like the leon I know then dmc leon from the original saddler sounds more interesting in the new one as for the villains mendez felt the same to me in the remake Ramon Salazar I do think is not as good as the original saddler I think is better in the new because it make more sense cause he is a cult leader and the old one was arrogant up his ass and for the environments for the most part it felt like a lot of stuff was there from the original I mean they did remove stuff but add and expand to make up for it I mean both versions are good and have flaws so.

To each their own i enjoy both games. I take them for what they are. To me complaining is a waste of energy. Feedback is good but complaining isnt. Both games are available to enjoy. If you dont like it dont play it.

What you have to realize is that these remakes basically have their own timeline. This is still very much the same Leon we know and love, but for the shit he went through in RE2Remake, yeah. Look at his eyes man he's been through shit and just wanted it to be different this time

    • @caidenjrich

exactly. i think this remake deserves its own place in the timeline and shouldn’t be judged entirely based on the original

I think we can all agree based of the comments that you’re nitpicking and judging the game purely based on nostalgia. As someone who didn’t get to play the og games I can tell you that the remakes are amazing. They’re not perfect, they have flaws. Some of which you mentioned and I agreed with but regardless. I think you’re being a bit too harsh on the game. New Leon is awesome!

I can agree that I tend to be a bit harsh on modern games, and I'm glad that the Remake suited you.
